Passion for Writing?
SneakiestTurtle asked: Have you always had a passion for writing, or is this a hobby you've only recently started?
I would have to say, probably the latter. In my life I've only ever had two big passions, martial arts and music. My brother however, is an excellent writer. He's been writing his own original stories since I don't know how long. My family keeps telling him to publish something but he's always trying to perfect his work. I think that he's a little afraid of how the general public might view his stories, but I think he should just get on and publish something already!
It's natural for a younger brother to look up to his older siblings. Thus, as my brother enjoyed writing, I wanted to be like him and began writing myself, but I never really had the talent for it like he did. Very recently however, I picked it up again. The reason why I started writing is pretty simple really, I had a scenario in my head that I wanted to see played out on paper. Everyone has imagined themselves in the world of their favorite fandom universe, including myself, and so the Reader Insert genre was very interesting to me.
Another big reason was that I was disappointed with the quality of the works of the fanfictions I was reading. Improper grammar, lazy story writing, cliched ideas, and things just jumping from one scene to another with no distinguishable plot of how the character's got there. As I stated in my first Reader x Yang Volume I novel, I hate it when characters spontaneously declare their love for one another. It makes it seem unrealistic and lazy, as if the author didn't know how to put them together so they just randomly decided to have the two characters declare their love for one another. In real life, to say "I Love You" to someone for the first time is a HUGE step, and it's not something you can just rush into. For this reason, I wanted to create my own story, one that I could be satisfied with.
When I first started writing fanfictions, it was for myself. I never intended to share them on a platform and would have never expected to have reached as many people as I did. Then I remembered how my brother would never share his works, and I didn't want to be like that. So I put my first fanfiction, the Reader x Yang Volume I novel on Wattpad.
That was only a few months ago. Now I have multiple other works and still more in my head. This started as a hobby, yes, but I've really grown to love writing and sharing it with such an amazing community.
The reason I continue to write and share my stories is because of people like you! Without an audience, an author has no purpose. You all give me purpose and encourage me to continue writing and create new ideas. You have no idea how much your support means to me, and I would love to continue to elevate my writing to even new heights and reach even more people.
Seeing as how you're my audience and the reason I write, I am happy to take requests. After all, it's not really my story, it's yours. I'm just the doorway, a conduit to connect you with your dreams and imagination. You give me a story idea and I'll do my best to make it come to life. You can dictate the entire story if you want. Tell me who you want to see in a relationship. Who's the main villain? What's your character like? Give me this information and I'll do my best to make it a reality.
