Jade had a soft thing of grass below her that seemed to have sprouted when she landed

"... I still feel like, we should hurry. There is no food around here, and I'd rather not, hurt any animals if it can be helped... plus, they aren't far away, we could get there before the sun fully falls." He seemed confident on that.

After a bit she came back, giving him the bowl of soup.

At first, due to his armor it was fine.
Then it began to burn badly, the wolf quickly pulling him back onto land sensing it.
