Forgotten
David stirred in his sleep, his eyes slowly fluttering open.
"Mm?" He grumbled.
"Morning," Jack chuckled.
"Oh... Hey..." David trailed off, slowly sitting up on the bed and avoiding eye contact with Jack. An awkward silence swept the room, both hesitant to break the thin veil of quiet.
"I am sorry," Jack finally sighed.
"Huh?"
"I should not have done that... I should have known you would not react well to such a sudden breach of personal space, and yet I did it anyways, it was irresponsible and I am sorry..." Jack replied. David finally found the confidence to make eye contact with Jack. His normally emotionless eyes held nothing but remorse. He knew Jack would never do anything to intentionally hurt him, and he knew Jack genuinely wished for forgiveness, and after everything they had been through up to his point... Who was David to deny him that?
"It's okay Jack, I'm sorry I reacted so negatively, I probably scared you and made you feel more guilty that you should have... Just... Don't do that again please, and maybe we can just... Forget this ever happened okay?" David asked, a small smile on his face.
"Consider it forgotten."
