David refused to look Jack in the eye.
"I... I wasn't hurt or offended... I was... Scared," David admitted.
"Scared?" Jack was confused.
"Yes, scared! It's a child! I would maybe understand if you had a reasonable explanation, but you basically said it was considered mercy! Who says things like that?!" David shouted.
"I don't-"
"No, Jack, it's not that I don't like you or anything man, we're friends, forced or otherwise, you just... You scare me sometimes," David explained.
"I... I apologize," Jack mumbled. David walked over to Jack, reaching up to put his hand on Jack's shoulder.
"It's alright, you shouldn't be the one apologizing, I keep forgetting that you don't think like me, you're an analytical thinker," David sighed. Jack looked down at the floor, feeling something... Odd... Is this what guilt felt like?
