David froze, thinking back to his unfortunate family situation.
"My dad... It's not that I had anything against him, I just... He didn't like my hobbies or my er... Sexuality, I'm bisexual, but he just wanted me to find a nice girl, he wasn't a horrible person about it, we just didn't get along too well... He died in a car crash... Drunk driver," David mumbled.
"I am so sorry David," Jack frowned.
"Why? It's not your fault, I didn't know much about him anyways since we never really talked unless it was about some girl he thought would be nice for me to go out with, I know he loved my mom though... My mom actually died two years after he did," David chuckled. What? He lost both his parents in the span of three years?! Jack reached down and hugged David tightly.
"I am truly sorry for your losses David," Jack mumbled.
"I already said it's fine Jack," David chuckled, a few stray tears cascading down his face. Jack separated from him, smiling at the fact that it took David a little longer to release him.
"As for me? I do not remember much of my mother, she was in an abusive relationship with my father, and she ended up leaving after Catherine was born, she fought for custody of us... But she was unsuccessful," Jack trailed off.
"Jack..." David couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"I am not mad at her for leaving, no one deserved the kind of abuse my father inflicted, and I know she fought for us... I just... I never saw her after that," Jack sighed. David lightly grabbed Jack's hand, trying to comfort him.
"I'm sure wherever she is, she's wondering how you and Catherine turned out," David smiled. Jack couldn't help but smile back.
