Woah! Hey! One question at a time, please!
Well to answer your first two questions...

~ Flashback ~

Lil' Ruby's cracked gem was laying in the sand on the beach that was coincidentally near the temple.

Steven: *walking around happily until he spots her gem* Huh? What's this? *Picks it up* ... *Gasp* A Gem?! What are you doing out here?

Lil' Ruby: *tries to reform but ends up cracking her gem even more*

Steven: *starts panicking* Oh no! Don't do that! What should I do what should I do?... Oh yeah. *Licks his hand and slaps it against her gem*

The gem glowed brightly as it healed. After about ten seconds, it levitated into the air as Lil' Ruby started to reform. At first her form looked like a regular Ruby until it slowly shifted into her original form. Once Ruby fully reformed, she fell to the ground.

Lil' Ruby: Oof!

Steven: *stares with stars in his eyes* Umm... Hi?

Lil' Ruby: *jumps back with fearful eyes, her right eye flashed white in the process*

Steven: Wait don't be afraid. I'm a friendly Steven. I'm not gonna hurt you.

Lil' Ruby: *stares at him until she slowly relaxed as her eye turned back to its normal green color*

Steven: *smiles, slowly makes his way towards Ruby* Oh my gosh... You're so... Cute!

Lil' Ruby: *blushes as her right eye turned pink* 'C-cute?!'

Steven: *circling around her as he observes her* Awww... You're like a red little slice of pie.

???: STEVEN! Who is that?!

Ruby and Steven turned to see the Crystal Gems running towards them with weapons deployed.

Ruby: *gasps, quickly gets up and runs away*

Steven: HEY WAIT! DON'T GO!

Ruby kept running until she disappeared far into the beach...

Sooo... That's how I was found on the beach. And yes, the Crystal Gems did tried to attack me... Later that day, Steven and Amethyst found me under the house while I was trying to shelter myself from the rain.
