September 19, 2021 -- Beginning today, on AsterCon 2, Asterhythm will begin publishing their new self-insert TXT book, THE AMERICAN DREAM.

Starring the boys of TOMORROW X TOGETHER, THE AMERICAN DREAM takes inspiration from visual novels such as LITTLE BUSTERS and DOKI DOKI LITERATURE CLUB. The self-insert means that the reader (you!) is the star of the story, a regular person of any gender and race from a small town in America. The five TXT members are your classmates and neighbors, and you live a day-to-day life with them, going to high school, hanging out with friends, and preparing for the end of the year school banquet. As the story progresses, you discover there is a secret to the world, and you must solve it before time runs out.

THE AMERICAN DREAM follows the love stories between you and the five amazing boys of TXT, as you get to meet each boy individually. As the story progresses, the resolution ends with all five of them being comfortable with being in love with you; this is known as a reverse harem.

"These kinds of books are very popular in the BTS fandom," explains Asterhythm, "and there are many books where you are romanced by all seven members of BTS! As someone who has been in polyromantic relationships in the past, I wanted to bring that spin to the TXT world, while making it suitable and clean for MOAs, and reflecting the struggles and questions that come up when you date more than one person at a time."

THE AMERICAN DREAM is listed as a "TXT harem" book, but it is important to note that this designation only means that all five boys in TOMORROW X TOGETHER fall in love with the main character. The book is devoid of any adult content and its relationship content is generally suitable for teen audiences, though market differences obviously apply. There are additionally no ships in the book, as the boys only fall in love with you.

THE AMERICAN DREAM will update every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until it is completed (with breaks as the author deems necessary for mental health).

ABOUT ASTERHYTHM

Mysterious anonymous Asterhythm (they/them) is a long time fanfiction veteran and self-published author. Aster started their career in 2003 on Fanfiction.net, where they primarily wrote for anime fandoms including Digimon and Angelic Layer. In 2011, Aster discovered K-Pop, and began writing under the Asterhythm name in 2019 after becoming a fan of BTS. Aster writes on both Wattpad and An Archive Of Our Own, where a more extensive history of their work under different pseudonyms is located.

Asterhythm is a Municipal Liaison for National Novel Writing Month; to date they have won NaNoWriMo sixteen times. They have had their books displayed at trade shows including New York Comic-Con. While retired from the professional writing scene, Aster brings their writing skill and networking to the fanfiction world by giving instruction and advice and promoting other authors. Aster is a champion of the #OwnVoices movement, which is evident in both their stories and others'.

Aster currently lives in America, where they go to school. Their hobbies include playing rhythm games and doting on their cats.
