Chapter 2

My friend and I are taking a stroll, coming up on the brick bridge. The sky is dark, and the tiny balls of light are littering it.

As we continue to put one foot in front of the other, we get closer and closer to a human organism, sitting on the edge of the bridge. The "moon's" light is shining on him, making his facial features apparent as his eyes are fixated on the ground.

I stop walking, causing her to mirror my action. "Who is that?" I inquire. My eyes have never taken him in before. "Addelaide, you don't know him? Oh wait, of course you don't. That's Kage Kuro."

Kage Kuro?

She strides up to him, me following suit. "Hello, Kage." She greets. His head lifts up and his eyes settle on her. He nods his head at her, being completely silent. My eyes scan over him, analyzing the markings he has all over his arms and up his neck.

He then turns his attention to me, his head tilting. His light chocolate eyes make contact with mine before he averts them. He retrieves a rock then chucks it into the liquid below, a splash resonating.

"How are you, Kage?" Vanessa questions. He shrugs his shoulders. "You seem to have a lot on your mind. Am I right?" She speaks. He nods his head in confirmation as he looks at the ground. "Well, we'll leave you to it." She says before we continue our journey into the night.
