Tia agreed for marriage and so did Ashwin. And Today is the Roka ceremony. Roka is  the first step towards marriage as per traditions and also the one of the most significant ceremonies that take place before a Punjabi wedding. For all those who don't know Roka is the ritual in which groom family visits the bride with shagun /gifts /sweets and pandit ji .  The roka ceremony marks the union of both the bride and groom's family and friends  . And both the families along with pandit ji decides the date for marriage. In our desi language it means both the boy and girl have officially stopped each other.

At Sharma House : 

Sharma house was decorated well with chandeliers and center pieces . Roka ceremony is arranged in verandah .The verandah of Sharma house is roofed, open-air hallway , porch and is attached to the outside . It is partly enclosed by a railing and frequently extends across the front and sides of the structure. This outdoor space is the most vibrant space  of Sharma house during weddings . The Sharma family holds a ritual of  using old dyed colorful sarees which are then used as wedding veil decorations.

" I have checked everything twice. You also go and check one more time the arrangements should be upto the mark. Meri princess kah roka hai aaj koi kami nahi honi chaiye " Said Anil who was holding a checklist in his hands

(Translation: I want everything to be perfect as today is my princess roka ceremony .)

" I have already checked everything. You should calm down now . Groom's family must be coming any minute " Said Aishwarya

Anil moved his head in agreement.

" Anil ji, I am so happy finally our daughter will get some happiness. " Said Aishwarya

" Ashwin seems to be a good guy. I really hope he takes good care of my princess " said Anil with worried expressions 

Ashwin enters and over hear their conversation
" Don't worry Uncle Aunty I will take good care of her. She is now my responsibility. "Says Ashwin while touching their feet.

" God bless u beta " Said Aishwarya

" I hope you are man of your words " Said Tia's brother Raghav while entering the hall 

" I surely am " Said Ashwin

" Ashwin I want to have a word with you. Hope you don't mind "said Raghav

Aishwarya tried to stop him but Raghav said "you know what happened last time . Please let me have a word this time ma "

Ashwin- " it's okay aunty let him talk " 

Ashwin and Rahul sat down in the hall room

Raghav- " I won't beat around the bush and will come straight to the point  and i expect the same from you . "

Ashwin moved his head in yes

Raghav continued : " She is my only sister. And I can't bare to see tears in her eyes again. She has suffered a lot already .Make sure not to hurt her in any way Ashwin ".

Ashwin - " I have a sister as well. I very well know how precious sisters are. And about Tia I assure you she will be well protected ".

Raghav - " I want to have your word Ashwin that you wont harm her "

Ashwin -" I Ashwin Awasthi will never myself or let anyone harm or hurt her in any manner " .

Raghav - "Good . I wish you guys a happy married life . "

After a while Asha and Ajay entered Sharma house along with the servants which were holding shagun plates , gifts and sweets.

Ajay - " namaste mamaji - mamiji " said Ajay while touching their feets
Asha also did the same 

Asha continued - " Where is my bhabhi ? . I can't wait to meet her "
Even Ashwin's eyes were searching for her. 

" Let me get her " said Aishwarya
Within a minute Tia entered the living hall   

Ashwin pov -

Tia's is a lucky girl. Her parents really love her a lot. I wish I had the same relationship with my parents as well. Her brother is exactly like me. I did the same with Ajay when Asha and Ajay decided to marry each other. Today, I get to know how difficult it was for Ajay to convince me . To be honest I feel a little envious of Tia . She has a perfect happy  family. No wonder she got into the contract marriage with me for the happiness of her family.
Talking of Tia where is she ? Thank god Asha asked for her. - he thought

Tia entered and she was dressed in red anaarkali suit with hairs loosely tied in a bun. She looks so different from the day I met her. She looks so mesmerizing. Her golden brown eyes really suits her well . They glow in sunlight . No I have to get a grip and I can't fall for anyone again . She is just a contractual wife and my responsibility for 2 years . Nothing else nothing more  - Ashwin thought to himself.

" Bhabhi you look so pretty " Said Asha almost jumping from sofa in happiness
" Thank you Asha Bhabhi umm no didi ...Anyways you look pretty too . " Said Tia confused

"Haha well that's the only con of being bhabhi and nanad. You can Call me whatever you want bhabhi , didi or Asha. and thank you for the compliment " Said Asha

Tia sat down alongside Ashwin. Both are trying to avoid the eye contact to avoid the awkwardness. Until pandit ji asked them to hold each others hand ( Tia's hand on top of Ashwin ) . 

Tia pov-

I was trying to avoid the eye contact but pandit ji asked me to keep my hand above his. I looked at his face and he was already looking at me . I don't want to admit but I almost blushed seeing him looking at me .And It would be a plain lie if I say he wasn't looking hot in that cream coloured kurta pajama. His deep blue eyes pairs so well with his outfit .And not to forget his veiny hands which makes me wonder how my small hands will look in his huge hands. My brain is screaming at me to get back to my senses but  i can't help he looks so smoking hot.

Pandit ji started with the pooja and I finally got time and senses to look at places other than Ashwin . I roam my eyes around the verandah to look at the decorations and guests. And panic hit me hard looking at our traditional family veil hanging around the verandah  and I started getting flashbacks of my previous marriage. I was about to loose control when I heard Ashwin.

" Tia " said Ashwin noticing her changed in expressions

Tia didn't reply making Ashwin rub his thumb flap over her hand

" Are you  getting nervous Tia? " said Ashwin again

" Hah, n...no... No why..y are you asking..g ? " Said Tia stammering

" You are scratching my arm " said Ashwin

" So..sorry..yy I didn't realize " said Tia

Ashwin holded her hand within his hand . 

" It's not like I mind " said Ashwin with a wink

Tia tries to remove her hand from his hold but he tighten his grip against her hand.

" By the way How do u know Asha and Ajay " Asked Ashwin

" Ajay bhaiya is my cousin " Replied Tia

" And Asha?? " Said Ashwin

" Asha didi is ajay bhaiyas fiance so and she often comes home " Replied Tia

Tia's nervousness was long gone

If Asha comes here often when she never tagged me along ,I could have met Tia before. -Ashwin wondered

" You know I am divorced right " Asked Tia

" Do I look like I care ? " Said Ashwin
Seeing shocked expressions on Tia's face he comforted her saying

" And u know I am divorced too " Asked Ashwin

" No I was asking because you didn't know about my relation with Ajay bhaiya and Asha bhabhi " Said Tia
Ashwin nodded in response

Ashwin thought I need to ask my PA to take out her complete profile. She looks so cute and innocent but gets panic attacks and knows my people too well. I need to know she doesn't have any motives behind.

Tia pov-

Asha didi is so sweet and bubbly. How come this arrogant homosapien is her brother and that too twin. Two Complete opposite personalities . I don't know how I 'll live with him for 2 years. But he is not that bad I scratched his arm so bad that it bruised but he never once complained. He sensed I was nervous so he started talking to me continuously to divert my mind . Another good thing is that he is hot.

Soon the rituals came to an end and Pandit ji decided the date and within a month they were about to get married.
