The woodland kingdom
Ash's POV
I saw my older brother shake his hade as if he was trying to ignore the reaction of seeing me. He grabbed my arm and passed me to one of the elves with him, as if I was a problem being dumped onto someone else.
I couldn't help but frown as he did that. The elf gently nudged me forward so I'd follow the dwarves and-.. where's bilbo?..
I make eye contact with thorin hoping for an answer yet he didn't give me one. He gave me a confused stare. Shit.. he heard..
As we entered the unfamiliar gates of my home I saw two elves grab thorin and led him and me away from our companions. I held my journal close to my chest as it was a source of comfort for me.
As the guards stopped marching thorin up the stairs I stopped beside my companion, not any more not any less. I watched as my father slowly got up and off his throne.
Thranduil's POV
I slowly walked down to thorin and my once missing child. I studied them before I spoke. They both had cobwebs tangled in their hair. Ash looked different from when I saw her last. When I last saw her she was bubbly, always smiling with a bright twinkle in her eye full of curious wonder. Now that was gone. Her eyes looked tired, and as if no amount of sleep would fix them, she had a journal clutched tightly to her chest, the headdress her mother had given her as a child. Then something caught my eye. A scar on her cheek that I didn't remember being there before, I gently grabbed her chin and tilted her head up, revealing a hand shaped bruise on her neck. I saw her cringing in pain so I stopped and took a step back as I took my attention to thorin.
"Some may imagine that a noble quest is at hand. A quest to reclaim a homeland and slay a dragon. I myself suspect a more prosaic motive: attempted burglary, or something of that ilk." I began. I looked closely at thorin, seeing the look in his eyes I knew exactly what he's done. "You have found a way in. You seek that which would bestow upon you the right to rule: the King's Jewel, the Arkenstone. It is precious to you beyond measure. I understand that. There are gems in the mountain that I too desire. White gems of pure starlight. I offer you my help." He say, bowing slightly while looking at him. I see him glance at my daughter and then back at me.
"I am listening." Thorin replied with a slightly smirk. I straighten my spine and continue to negotiate with him. "I will let you go, if you but return what is mine." I tell him. Thorin turns and slowly starts walking away, I see my daughter watching his every move as if she were waiting for something. "A favor for a favor." Thorin says. I hold my hands behind my back.
"You have my word. One king to another." I promise him. Suddenly Thorin stops walking. Still facing away from me, he speaks, his voice gets louder and louder as he speaks, "I would not trust Thranduil, the great king, to honor his word should the end of all days be upon us!" He yelled, making Lithônion flinch.
Thorin spins around and point at me. He is now shouting and I am losing my composure. "You lack all honor! I've seen how you treat your friends. We came to you once, starving, homeless, seeking your help, but you turned your back. You turned away from the suffering of my people and the inferno that destroyed us!" He screamed at us. Then he yelled a threat to me in dwarvish yet I knew emcee well what he mean. I got to his height and got right into his face. How dare he !
"Do not talk to me of dragon fire. I know its wrath and ruin. I have faced the great serpents of the north." I say to him. As i speaks, i feel my face twist in pain as I feel my illusion wear off and my scars become visible. I draw away, my face returning Normal. I see lithônion with her eyes tightly closed as she takes shaky breaths in and out through her nose.
I turn my focus back to thorin, glaring at him slightly. "I warned your grandfather of what his greed would summon, but he would not listen." I tell him. I turn and walk up the steps to my throne. "You are just like him." I continue as I motion to the guards. They grab and haul him toward the dungeons. I see lithônion try to grab the dwarf but I ignore it. "Stay here if you will, and rot. A hundred years is a mere blink in the life of an elf. I am patient. I can wait." I tell him as he is now gone from my sight. I now turn my attention to my child.
She glares at me almost with hatred. I return a look of confusion. "Lellig? What's wrong?.. did the dwarves harm you?" I asked. "No..." she half growls at me. I sigh and get off my throne again. Suddenly I notice two puncture wounds on her side through her clothes. I touch the wounds slightly and she slaps my hand away from the pain. A black liquid is left on my fingers. A mixture of blood and spider venom.
"Lellig?.. did you get bitten?.." I asked her. She slowly nodded. "Go to the healer now" I order her. "What?.. why?" She asks. "Don't ask questions now ego!" I order. She nods slowly and walks away from me. I sigh and leave for my chambers.
