01: Trust is like a delicate tapestry, woven with threads of honesty
"Trust is like a delicate tapestry, woven with threads of honesty, consistency, and respect. Once damaged, it can be mended, but it requires patience, care, and the unwavering commitment to rebuild it stronger than before."

Today was it.
Today, Agent Olivia Chen was back to work in the office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The butterflies in her stomach were palpable and she knew she was in for a lot of questions.
Olivia had been gone from the FBI to go under cover on an operation to bust a major sex trafficking ring. She was there for one year and eight months, until she had to get out. She doesn't speak of the reason she got out, but something had caused her to pull the plug early, and people wanted to know why.
She sat at her kitchen table looking over the current file her team were working on. It was drug cartel that we're planning to release an ungodly amount of fentanyl into the streets, and one dose could cause an overdose. They had been working at it for four months before they had their first snippet of opportunity. Roman Reigns, the bureau's seasoned Assistant Director, had devised a plan to send two agents under cover.
They would pose as a drug trafficking couple, planning to buy the fentanyl and deposit it into the streets of San Francisco. Olivia knew this was her task to a tee, but she also knew that gaining the trust of her colleagues again would be a challenge on its own.

At the Bureau, Jimmy, Melissa, Melody and Armani were sat at the round table awaiting their colleagues return. Armani hasn't met Olivia before as she joined the bureau after Olivia had left.
"I'm excited to meet Agent Chen. I've heard she's a real boss bitch." Armani said sipping her coffee. She was met with some nods and agreements apart from Jimmy, who sat silently.
"She's a real firecracker." Melissa replied, a mischievous grin on her face. "She once took down a 300 pound, 6ft 4 man during one of our raids. It was pretty impressive."
"She did have her fair share of bruises though." Melody said a little laugh in her voice as she recounted the event in her head. Armani pulled a face that told everyone she was impressed.
"Well, it'll be good to have her alongside us." Armani said. Just as she did, Roman had entered the room, throwing the file onto the table.
"Well, don't get too excited about her sticking around. She's going to be going undercover very soon with one of us." Roman interjected, sitting in his seat. Jimmy's head snapped towards his cousin and boss with a look of disgust.
"Who?" He asked slightly panicked. Roman glared at his cousin and subordinate.
"You'll find out."
"Nah man, I don't trust this one bit." Jimmy argued. He received a few looks of confusion. "She's been away for nearly two years, on an undercover assignment that was supposed to last three. And then all of a sudden, she pulls the plug before they even take the criminals down." Jimmy explained. "Not to mention she won't tell anyone why she did that. For teamwork you need to have trust, and that's built with honesty.. something she clearly doesn't care about."
"I care about honesty." A voice spoke from the doorway. All heads turned towards the brunette stood in the doorway, leaning on the frame with her arms crossed. "What I don't care for," She continued as she walked into the room, taking a seat beside Melissa. "Is nosey agents wanting to know everything about a mission, that was confidential."
Jimmy suddenly went silent. His glare piercing into the spitfire sat across from him. Roman had a small smirk on his lips as he looked down at the paper.
"Agent Olivia Chen, I'd like you to meet Agent Armani Smith. She joined a team also a year after you left. She's transferred from the SWAT team but has incredible knowledge about weapons and armour used by our subjects. She's also my fiancé." Roman said pointing to Armani. Olivia sent a smile towards Armani and leant over the table to shake the other girls hand.
"Nice to meet you Agent Smith, and congrats on the engagement." Olivia said politely. Armani accepted the hand shake and nodded.
"Thank you, and nice to meet you too Agent Chen."

"I think going in as a financially struggling couple is a good angle to take. Most drug lords pray on those who are desperate and vulnerable." Jimmy explained looking at the white board with all the ideas and angles they had been discussing.
Olivia rolled her eyes. "I think that's stupid. They'll just think that because we're vulnerable and weak, we can't handle what they throw at us. A financially stable couple with experience in the drug trade is a better option as they think we're already in too deep to run to the cops the moment things go bad."
"Are you just gonna disagree with everything I say?" Jimmy snapped.
"Only when you're wrong." Olivia retorted. Roman pinched the bridge of his nose at the back and forth arguments his two agents have been making during the two hours they have been brain storming.
"Right, let's just get this over with. We'll go with Olivia's angle as she has the best argument." Roman said causing Olivia to smile sickly sweet at Jimmy. "But the arguing needs to stop, considering Jimmy, you're going undercover with Olivia."
"What?" Olivia and Jimmy said in unison.
"Why?" Jimmy questioned further.
"Olivia is clued up with undercover work, and Jimmy, you are the best at understanding narcotics and the lingo they use. The decision is final. I expect you both to come up with the backstory and make it convincing by Wednesday morning, so you have tonight, all of tomorrow and the early hours of Wednesday to do that." He said before leaving the room to attend to other business.
As the others observed the tension amongst them, Melody nudged Melissa and Armani, signalling for all three of them to leave. As Armani stood up and forced a smile and looked at Olivia.
"It was great to meet you." She said. Olivia gave her a polite node before the three women exited the room, leaving Jimmy and Olivia alone.
Jimmy didn't know how long they had sat there in silence, but he knew it was an awfully long time. They both avoided eye contact and stared off into different parts of the room before Olivia sighed.
"We're not gonna get anywhere if we sit in silence. You need to talk." She said leaning forward to rest her elbows on the table. Jimmy rolled his eyes before finally looking at her with a glare.
"Why have I gotta make the first move to talk?" Jimmy snapped.
"Because you'll get snappy at me and roll your eyes, just like you did then, if I open my mouth." Olivia stated. Jimmy leaned back in his chair and ran his hand over his chin.
"Fine. We'll meet here tomorrow at 7:30am to discuss this." He said before standing up, his chair scrapping alone the floor.
"Brilliant." Olivia said smiling sarcastically. Jimmy went to walk out the door before he turned back to face Olivia.
"Just know that I don't trust you. I think you're slimy and full of bullshit most of the time. Don't expect me to fall to your feet like a begging puppy just because you know how to lie through your teeth. As a matter of fact, I think you've done so much lying that even you don't even know what the truth is anymore." Jimmy said his hand grasping the handle on the door. Olivia glared at Jimmy, her eyes full of venom at his words.
She would be lying if she said they didn't hurt her, not because she cared about his opinion, but because there was some truth to the words he spat.
"We're going to work so well together." She spoke sarcastically, earning a scoff from the man stood in front of her before he walked out of the room. Olivia's smile slowly dropped as he left, her mind racing with the thoughts of her last undercover.
"Come on Olive, you can do this." She muttered to herself as words of encouragement.
