NorthLight

They had finally made it to the rainforest. It was absolutely the most beautiful thing Raker had ever seen! She loved it. There were so many colors and multi colored birds that sung beautiful songs. This was the best place she has ever been. DeadWings led her up to the village. There were huts made out of big leaves and branches. She saw an odd Rain-Seawing and waved a talon to her, saying 'hey'. The Rain-Seawing have her a disgusted snarl of disgrace. Raker flinched at her sudden rudeness. "What's wrong with her?" Raker turned and whispered to DeadWings. "Oh, that's NorthLight, you don't wanna mess with her, she's rather grumpy all the time." DeadWings whispered back. NorthLight turned snarled and walked over to Raker. "Are you talking about me behind my back, hybrid?" NorthLight asked in a menacing tone. Raker stepped back, nearly bumping into Raker. Raker saw NorthLight's past. She saw NorthLight as a young dragonet being beaten by her parents and banished from the Seawing kingdom by her father. Raker saw her running away because her parents thought she was a disgrace and expected a lot from her. Her mother as a Rainwing died from MorrowSeer when the Nightwings were studying the RainWings. The vision disappeared. NorthLight stepped closer to her, growling. "N-no, I wasn't saying anything bad." Raker ducked down below NorthLight, who was towering over her. She was a beautiful dragon. Her wings had glowing blue and sea green markings. She had odd Seawing glowing markings that were royal blue. They never seemed to stop glowing. Her scales were like all the colors of the sunset, even purple. She had a golden bracelet with red and sea green diamonds embedded in them. NorthLight stood on her hind legs and grabbed Raker by the throat. Raker clawed at the dragon's arm. She threw Raker and Rainwings nearby gasped. She walked over to Raker and put her foot on Raker and bent over to whisper in her ear. "If you dare talk to me, look at me, or even talk about me. I swear, I will kill you." She stepped off of Raker and walked off, Rainwings that were surrounding in a circle moved aside quickly so NorthLight could walk past. One of them hesitated to move and NorthLight stopped, looked at them, and gave them a nasty snarl, "Move out of my way!" She growled. Raker slowly got up, brushing herself off. She was to terrified to fight back. And she didn't want to end up killing the dragon in anger. Raker slowly walked back to DeadWings. Her neck ached from the way NorthLight threw her. Her back was hurting to, after all, she heard it crack when she had landed on the hard ground of the village. She rubbed the back of her head in pain, when she looked at her talons, there were small smears of blood. "Ow." She said, gritting her teeth. "Are you okay? We should bring you to the doctor." DeadWings said, helping Raker walk as she put her wing around her. "I-I'm fine. I think." Raker replied. "That's one strong Rainwing. And a mean one." Raker said lowly. "Well she had a hard life and is part Seawing." DeadWings pointed out. "She is a hybrid like me. She doesn't want people to think she is weak, just like me when I met you in the desert." Raker said looking down as they walked to the doctor. "I saw it in her mind." Raker said looking up at the sky as if she could read the treetops. "I understand her." She said to DeadWings.

Soon they made it to the doctor. There were at least three rainwings in there. One was plum and peach colored while another one was light blue with a mixture of yellow, and the last one was bright orange with green specks. DeadWings lead Raker down on a hammock. The plum and peach colored one rushed over to her. "What happened?" The Rainwing asked DeadWings. "She got in a fight with NorthLight." DeadWings replied. "Oh. That grouchy sloth?" The Rainwing asked teasingly. "Yeah, the grouchy sloth." Raker said through gritted teeth. The Rainwing examined her wings and arms. She took Raker's talons in her and studies each and every one of them separately. "Hmm... Her left arm is out of socket. And she has a deep gash in the back of her head and her wing is a little fractured. DeadWings looked at her with deep concern for her friend. "H-how long until she heals?" DeadWings asked with slight fear. Raker could feel it. "Well we have to put her arm back in place, and her wing needs to heal, maybe about a week and a half the most." The Rainwing replied. Raker's eyes widened with shock.

That night DeadWings stayed by her side. Soon they both fell asleep, DeadWings fell asleep next to the hammock that Raker laid on. that night was silent except for the sounds of crickets and the lights and buzzing of fireflies.
