Chapter Six
He was now removed from the mesh net, and an Ultra-terretrail pinned him to the gurney. He hissed and spit trying to wiggle free- and eventually he did, breaking free he hurled himself at the blue alien.
Asher ran to the control panel, pressing the various buttons. The UFO shifted to the right, and then to the left. Finally a hatch opened, and both Asher and his moon rock exited the ship.
Phew! Asher painted, exhausted from all the physical struggle-
He was relieved to see his rare, otherworldly rock was nearby; luckily the Ultra-terrestrails dropped him off near where Asher intended to go.
Asher stood cheerful and tall near King Ryleigh’s dungeon door. ‘’Hello King Ryleigh?’’ He meowed near the entrance, which was surrounded by mountains. ‘’A Boltcat.’’ The Skeleton King got up from his throne and answered the door. Like Toni, Ryleigh also had the power to speak to animals.
Asher has never seen such a thing in his life, the King was a living skeleton. He could see Ryleigh’s scarlet red cloak right through his empty ribcage, in his hand was a swirling red scepter, capable of casting the deadliest of spells; and on his head was a golden crown with a red gem for every human he’s killed. ‘’Come in Boltcat, what is your name? and how can i help you?’’ The Skeleton King’s deep, royal voice broke Asher from his trance. Asher stared at him as he returned to his golden throne, behind him were jail-like cells containing many ghouls; yet they all remained silent under the King’s curse. It is said that if you disrespect King Ryleigh, he’ll feed you to the ghouls. ‘’I am Asher, am i have come to bargain with you.’’ He bowed his head respectfully.
‘’Alright Asher!’’ The living skeleton nodded his head. ‘’What would you like to bargain for?” … Asher presented the luminous glowing rock in front of him. ‘’This.’’ He nudged it to the King. ‘’I’d like to trade this for magick.’’ … ‘’For magick!’’ The King’s empty black eyes stared at Asher, almost as if in disbelief. ‘’I only trade gold for magick.’’...
‘’But Ryleigh!’’ Getting frustrated, Asher raised his fur. ‘’KING RYLEIGH I THINK WAS WHAT YOU MEANT TO SAY!’’ He yelled. His eyes switched from their normal hollow blackness to a bright, coal like red. He banged his staff hard against the dirt below him. ‘’Yes, I'm sorry King Ryleigh.,’’ Asher flinched, not wanting to get fed to the undead. Ryleigh regained his calmness, his eyes turned to soot, and Asher watched the rise and fall of his ribcage as he started to calm down…
‘’Asher, i am not cruel.’’ That sentence was a lie in itself, as King Ryleigh was too bad to be good, yet too good to be bad. Everyone knew he had an unhealthy lust for riches and power.
‘’Who’s to say i will not help a Boltcat? that is if you don’t disrespect me.’’
‘’My advice to you, young Boltcat, is that you go to the Wizard Jax who lives in Meredith, he is the only Wizard capable of granting other species magick.’’ He then went on to explain that first Asher would have to get knowledge about this world.
‘’Well thanks, King Ryleigh.’’ Asher bowed his head respectfully, before walking out of the open dungeon door.
Upset he didn’t get any magick, Asher left the seemingly worthless moonrock on the ground. As he looked down he saw a scroll of forbidden moon magick.
I am no sorcerer, but if i read this will i learn a trick or two? He wondered.
