Sivaangi was enjoying the early monsoons in Chennai. She was just back after a recording and had an ominous feeling of being alone at her home. Her parents and her brother had gone to Kerala for a family function and she had to stay back at Chennai for an important recording at the ARR studio.

The sky dusked and the darkness prevailed over the sunlight. The rain was still drizzling and her mind was also drizzling with thoughts of the ride  with ashwin that evening. She had met him at the studio and apparently he was there for his upcoming movie song recording. He was meeting her in person after almost a  year. They both were comfortably indulged in their own works and were not in touch or rather purposefully stayed away.

She was in all smiles when she saw him entering the studio. Ashwin too had a bright smile seeing his well wisher. He was listening to her blissful voice and was simultaneously letting his heart remind him "Control ashwin control. Don't let your heart overplay" but her voice was creating havoc inside him which he was not able to control any more.

Sivaangi was now grown up into a beautiful young lady and had her own unique place in the industry working with the top music composers whereas ashwin was all set with few good scripts from the top directors. They were in that stage of life where they didn't want to name their bond.

Ashwin was deliberately staying away from meeting her as he knew if he stays in touch definitely the relationship may change, at least for him. He was in a dilemma between what to choose, his heart or his mind?

Once the recording was done, sivaangi was about to leave when the gentlemen and well wisher inside him offered to drop her at home. The remaining car ride was silent. Only the rain drops making the requisite talking for them. Both of them were battling a war inside them of not letting their feeling pour in.

Sivaangi not able to handle the silence finally spoke "Song kekkalama?" to which he nodded and switched on the radio fm.

He saw her eyes with one eye and the other eye still on the road. Her eyes were as pure as her soul illuminating the selfless love and care she had given him.

Her black straight kurta with a tear drop crystal earring dancing to toing and froing of the car added more glow to her face in the moonlight. She was shining like a star amongst the dark road ahead of them.

She could feel him stealing glances in between his driving which brought an unknown happiness to her which symbolically turned out to be a blushy smile.

She was humming to the song and he felt his heart falling for her and this time he didn't want to control his heart rather he let it flow willingly.

Does rules of the society matters for him or was he waiting for a 'yes' from her?

He was at the verge of letting out his gentlemen in front of her. The rain drops, her twinkling eyes, the song everything was instigating his desires. Were the rain drops doing their job or his feelings? Even the rain drops must be having some desires or else why should it come back to earth after reaching up at the sky? Was it indirectly symbolising him to confess his feelings again?

In between all the battles they reached her home and she quickly unfastened the seatbelt and turned his side "thanks ashwin for the ride"

When she was about to get down from the car he clasped her hand "Oru nimisham ma"

She closed the car door and turned to him. She hummed in response with confusion written all over her face and anxiety in his.

His hands were shivering and he was not able to utter a single word. He wordlessly left her hand and said "mazha nallarukku la?"

She blinked in confusion to what he just spoke. Was he really stopping her to let her know the beauty of the rain or was he trying to voice out something else?

"Yeh feeling cozy" sivaangi spoke her heart out.

That was it. He knew if he stays with her another second he would definitely utter what his heart desires for. He left her hand as he quickly said "Ok then bye ma goodnight". She also nodded positively and wished him goodnight as she moved forward to her home.

Sivaangi was still gazing at the rain drops falling though her window. It was the very first time she was staying all alone at her home and the incident which happened sometime ago was not letting her peacefully enjoy the rains. Her thoughts were disturbed by the buzzing sound of her phone. He had sent a message. "Come outside. Have something important to tell you."

Sivaangi stared at it and realised she had knots in her stomach. Thoughts flooded her mind. What did he want to tell her? Is he still here?

With thousands thoughts dropping in her head she rushed to his car only to see a completely drenched ashwin waiting for her leaning his back on the car.

"Neenga innum pogalaya? Ethukku ippadi poora mazhayila nananjirukka?" she concernedly asked

"Naan neraye yosichen. Ennale ithukku mela control panna mudiyathu" he sincerely said blinking his eyes as the rain drops were falling on him

"Enna yosichen? Enakku onnum puriyala. Mothale neenga ulla vaanga" sivaangi dragged him inside her home.

She took him inside her home and shut the door and was about to get a towel but she couldn't as she felt a weight on her back. His body was not even touching hers but his tall physique towered on her made her shiver at the closeness. He slowly moved his hands around her arms sending chills over her body "ash...win"

She turned to see his messy hair and water dripping from his hair which now was falling on her face. She could see the desire and craving inside him which was making her weak on her knees.

"Why did you reject me?" he asked and she turned her face away. She knows she cant lie looking at his brown eyes.

He slightly made her turn to him by holding her chin "Naan ellam ungalkku set aakathu ashwin. You deserve someone more beautiful, more matured and responsible" she finally spoke.

"Huh? Ovvoru vaatiyum nan unna paakumbothu unnoda intha kutti kannu" he touched her eyes which were shut voluntarily at his touch "intha mooku approm the best part of your face intha smile ellam enna evlo tempt pannirukken. Only yours, I repeat only yours" he said as he caressed her lips which now curved into a smile. You're childish yet matured and that's the best quality you have. I just love everything about you.

"Avlo pudikkuma ungallku enna?" she asked and a rain drop fall on her face as he said "nan intha mazha thuli maadhiri un mela vizhundutten"

A lone tear flowed down her cheek "Enakkum ungale romba pudikkum ana bayamarkku ennale ethum issues vara koodathu. I only want good things to happen when I'm with you"

"You're my lucky charm. So eppadi issues varum? Nee en koode irunthale pothum nan happya iruppen unnayum happy vechuppen. Enakku oru chance kudu. I'll definitely not let you down"

How can she still unsee his love towards her even after her rejecting his love a year ago? "Ennakku ungala mathiri romantic aa ellam pesa theriyathu analum nan en manasu ungalkku tharen nalla pathupingala?"

He chuckled at her comment "Appo yen azhagu raniye enne seekrama kalyanam pannikko"

She nodded in response as they both stayed in their embrace being grateful to the raindrops for uniting them till eternity.

It was raining here so thought of writing a quick oneshot with rain as backdrop.
