A warm day, But a very special for St.Aloysius 2010 Batch.(My school name though😜Btw mine is girls school,let us just keep it as the school's name)

Ashwin tugged under the duvet, stirring and tossing to both the sides on the bed.He almost woke up and in the phase of the most heavenly morning 10 minutes sleep.Ever felt that?

But he was disturbed by hearing his mobile ringing sound.He felt an irritation in both of his eyes due to the lack of sleep and groaned.He picked up the call without noticing the caller idea.

'Hello, Yaaru nga kaalangaathala?',he raised his a voice a bit.
'Dei Naaye,Kaalaila 11 mani unaku Kaalangaathalaiya?',the opposite voice asked and Ashwin pulled the mobile from his ear to notice the caller id.He sighed and took the mobile again to his ear.

'Enna da?Kelambitiya illaya?',Vinay asked and that's when he remembered he wanted to get ready for the re-union.
'Ahn machaan,Almost ready..Oru 5 mins la call panre da..',Ashwin said.

'Pachaiya puzhugaadha machaan,Nee innum un bed la irundhu kooda endhirikala nu enaku theriyum..',Vinay said and he closed his eyes in embarrassment.

'Ee..Kandupudichitiya machaan..',he rubbed his temple.
'Aama periya rocket science paaru,un veetla dhan naaye iruken,Vandhu coffee kudichutu unaku 1/2 mani nerama wait panitu iruken..Keela vaa kelambi',Vinay declined the call and he threw his mobile away.

The most important day.He inhaled thinking about his most sweetest school days.He's pretty excited to meet all his classmates but thinking about one person,his heart skipped a beat.A well mix of emotions took over him, pushing all his thoughts he left to the washroom.

'Vaa machaan!Amudha ma, enakum oru coffee please',Ashwin took his seat welcoming Vinay,his buddy from school days and he was the only one he was still in contact.He was in contact with some mates from school but not in daily life,just in mobile to watch each other's WhatsApp status.

'Deii enna da?Night lam PS velaada vendiyadhu, apro kaalaila ipdi 11 mani vara thoonga vendiyadhu...Yen da?', Vinay asked and he rubbed his temple.

'Dei, nethu oru book oda climax ezhudheetu irundhen da,romba neram try panne still Im not satisfied with the climax,edhume thonala So I just left it for tomorrow..Late aana naala thookam varala,adhaan lite ah velaantu thoongune..',Ashwin said.

Yes,Ashwin is a writer and the 4 books he wrote was in the market for sale.2 Novels,a fiction and a book of poem.He was quite famous since his first Novel!Hence,his rest of the three was also a has a great welcome, still his First Novel was in talks.

'Unna enna dhan da solradhu..Seri Amma call pannaangala?',Vinay asked.
'Haan da nethu night akka veetuku reach aayitu pannanga,Tired la rest eduthutu irupaanga nu nenaikire,Innu morning call varala..',Ashwin said taking his cup of coffee from Amudha ma's tray.

'Illa machaan!Sondhama oru veedu kattanum,aprom en amma va inga kootitu varen,Adhu varaikum angeye irukatum..', Ashwin replied sipping his coffee.

'Sharanya vum varaa dhana?', Ashwin asked.
'Pinna,ava first nama friend da apro dhan en pondatti..',Vinay said and Ashwin chuckled.

'Oru 10 varsham irukumla?Namma ellaru meet panni?',Vinay asked.
'12 varsham!', Ashwin corrected him.
'Ellaraiyu invite panto machan,Jennifer,Baghat, Surya mattum abroad settled,so doubt dha avanga varadhu, mathabadi ellarum vandhuruvanga nu dha nenaikire..',Vinay said.

'Ellarum ah?',Ashwin asked.
'Aama da,ellarum dhan!',Vinay said and Ashwin's stomach did a summersault.
'Seri da kelambalama?Poi resort check pananu, decorations supervise pannanum,food check pannanum..Guests lam receive pananum..', Vinay was listing while Ashwin lost in his own thoughts.

'Deii...Vaa da',Vinay pulled him and Ashwin left with him after informing the main,Amudha ma.

Everything was set and the people started arriving.
'Machaaannnn!!!!',they heard a cheerful voice.He jumped on Ashwin's back with a wide smile.

'Dei Sanjayyy!!!',Ashwin spun him make Vinay laugh.
'Yepdi da iruka?Happy for your growth da',Sanjay asked getting down and hugged him.
'Nalla iruken Machaan!Nee epdi iruka?Un wife enga?',Ashwin asked.

'Idho da,She is Swathi!',Sanjay introduced his wife to them.
'Naanum vandhuten...',Saranya too joined them.

Ashwin noticed a girl who was stealing glances of Vinay long back and decided to play with him.

'Macha...Do you remember?She is the girl who proposed you that day la?',Ashwin said pointing a girl,he wantedly pressed the word proposed to Vinay while Sharanya glared at him.

'Yen da??Kudhugalama irukura kudumbathula ipdi gummi adikira?', Vinay asked.
'Apdiya Vinu?Enta nee sollave illa?',Sharanya asked hugging Vinay's arm.

'Illa baby..Andha ponnu propose pannadhu enamo unmai dhan..Aana accept panlaye..Ennoda Sharanya mattum dha en heart la irukaanu thelivaa solten..',Vinay said resting his palm on his chest dramatically making Sharanya goes Aww..

Ashwin chuckled at the lovebirds,they both were in love since their school days and Yes they're Indeed lucky...They were almost in love for 15 years and still they are being lovey-dovey!

He looked at all his mates who were laughing and cherishing their memories.Their pen fight,paper ball cricket inside the class,nap inbetween the boring classes,the never ending gossips about PET sir and Maths teacher, putting flames at the last page of rough book,Last bench commentaries inbetween classes,teacher's boring lecturers, suprise tests, Passing the copy bits and silently helping eachother in the exam hall,sharing eachother's lunch,annual days,sports day, teachers day, children's day,Pongal celebrations, Expecting for the circular to announce Saturday Holidays, Spilling and sprinkling ink on eachother at the day exam ends...

Endless memories la?

Ashwin's eyes teared thinking about how carefree those days were..And His memories were somewhat special because along with these memories,there is a treasure of memories hidden inside him.

Vinay mobile started ringing which made Ashwin's chain of thoughts broke.

'Heyy!!Sivaangi dhan call panraa..', Vinay said making Ashwin's heart beat faster.Due to his sudden heartbeat raise,he started sweating and breathing heavily.

'Machan,Are you alright?',Sanjay asked.
'Hmm da..Im okay', Ashwin replied.

'Dei Sivaangi vandhutaalam..Naan avala kootitu vandhare..Ashwin vaada..',Vinay said.
'Illa...Illa macha..Nee po',Ashwin said.
'Deii innum ah da..',Vinay started but stopped when Sharanya eyed him to not continue further.

Vinay nodded and left while Ashwin stood still hanging his head down.

Sivaangi entered inside the resort.Her school time memories flooded inside her mind.
'Sivu..',she saw Vinay coming towards her.
'Hey..',she gave him a side hug and he reciprocated it.

'Yepdi da iruka?'Sivaangi asked.
'Nalla iruken di..Nee epdi iruka?',Vinay asked.
'Hmm nalla iruken da..', Sivaangi replied.

'Vaa..Anga ellarum waiting..',Vinay said and she nodded.

Both Ashwin and Sivaangi's eyes met after 12 Years.Both of their eyes filled with tears.

Sivaangi wasn't the same girl whom he was hanging out before 12 years.Her short hair has grown long,she looked little lean and tall compared to their old days.He released she is not anymore a teenage girl in those blue and white checked uniform with double braided hair,But a beautiful woman now.But those doe eyes and still remained the same!

Sivaangi's breath hitched seeing him,She never remembered that he had beard or even moustache those days now having a long grown beard but perfectly trimmed into a shape,he was lean and tall but now his body grown muscular and more taller..But those deep brown orbs still remained the same.

'Sivuuuuu!!!!!',Sharanya ran and hugged her to which Sivaangi reciprocated tightly.
'Enkitta pesaadha..Ithana varshama enga pona?Yaartayume contact la illa?You know un number kandupudika naanga evlo kashtapattom theriyuma?',Sharanya asked pulling back from the hug.

'Sorry di...Naan contact la iruka koodadhunu nenaikala,iruka mudila.. Life always having some different plans la?',Sivaangi said looking at Ashwin but quickly switched her gaze to Sharanya.

'Very true..',Sharanya smiled.
'Hey Sivu..',Sanjay gave her a side hug and she reciprocated to it.
'Yepdi iruka?',Sivaangi asked and answered her before introducing his wife.

'Hey..', Ashwin smiled at her.
'Hey',she smiled back,well hiding her all emotions so Ashwin.

'Heyy guyssss!!!Ellarum vandhaachunu nenaikire..So let's start!!!!!!',they all heard a voice from the mike.
'Vaanga polaam..',Sharanya said and they all gathered.

'So!!!! School days are the most precious days of our life, aren't those?Evlovo naaluku aprom namma ellarum meet panrom, Pushing all our personal life,jobs and stress.. Thirumba ellarum onnaa irukom..So yaarukellam thonudho please inga vandhu avanga avanga words ah share panna romba nalla irukum...So first yaaru yaaru..??'

Each and everyone started sharing about their words and it was Sanjay's turn..

'Enaku..Enna solradhu nu therila..Ithana varsham aayiduchu..Namma lam school padikumbodhu eppo da indha school mudiyum..Exam,test,assignment nu saavadikiraangale nu thonirukumla namma ellarukum..Aana ipo dhan puriyudhu..Andha days la namaku adha thavira endha problems ume illa nu..Ipo irukura life eh machine maadhiri aayidichu,edhuku odrom ne theriyaama odeetu irukom and covid, lockdown nu oru pakkam, Namaku therinjavanga,friends, family kullaye yethanayo pera ezhandhutom..Inga andha lockdown naala evlovo peru depression,stress kulla poitom...Ippo!Indha reunion.. Thanks da machaanss..Means alot..Ungala ellam ini paakave mudiyaadhunu nenache..',Sanjay wiped his tears and Ashwin,Vinay ran towards him, engulfing him into a bone crushing hug.

'Sivuu...Nee poi pesu!!!',Sharanya said.
'Hey..Naan epdi di..Illa..Naan pesala..',Sivaangi shook her head horizontally.
'Please Sivuu!!', everyone started requesting her and she looked at Ashwin.He just blinked and she left to the stage.

'So happy to see you all here again.. Enaku enna pesuradhune therilaa..Ellarum..Innum apdiye dha irukom la? School uniform mattum dha podala..Naan appearance pathi solalla,Manasa pathi solren..Innum edhume maarala..Ellarum apdiye dha irukom..',Sivaangi looked at Ashwin who was still looking at her.

'Those days are the best,la? Time epdi pochune therila..Innum enkitta iruku namma 12th std group photo.. Ennikaavadhu cha school eh padichutu irundhurukalamnu thonumbodhellam eduthu paapen..Recreate eh panna mudiyaadha onnu indha school days..

'Sivuuu!!Paadu..!!',Sharanya shouted.
'Aama Sivu,Romba naal aachu..',Sanjay too asked.
'Hey..adhellam romba naal aayiduchu pa..',Sivaangi shook her head but none of them was ready to leave her.

When Ashwin's eyes met with her..They drove back to the last time they met.

'Ashwineyyyyy!!!!!Aii Ashwineyy nillu!!', Sivaangi ran towards Ashwin who was walking slowly with his cycle.

Both Ashwin and Sivaangi was friends since primary school but they found something differently brewing between them after further days

They both know that wasn't friendship exactly and even everyone knows.No one can see both of them without eachother,Sivaangi never let him down so as Ashwin.Even though they will be with their friends Sanjay,Vinay and few..Both were very special to eachother.Their unadulterated bond never missed anyone's eyes,still them remaind the same to the question of them ',Unga rendu perukulla enna iruku?'

'Ada nillu paa',she stopped him and he looked away from her.
'Enna aachu unaku?',Sivaangi asked and Ashwin he remained silent and looking away.
'Ashwineyyy!!!',she whined and his lips curved automatically.

'Yen Ashwineyy sogama iruka?',she asked.
'Unaku illaya?Iniku dha namma school oda last day..Naan college padikka Bangalore poiduven..Miss pannuven ellaraayum..', Ashwin said and Sivaangi held his hands.

'Ellara vida unna romba miss pannuven..',he said looking into her.His eyes pierced into her soul through her eyes which made her tummy a summersault.

She was also in a verge of breakdown,but if she did then he'll also.Controlling herself from crying,she smiled at him.

'Ashwineyy..Naan unta onnu kekkatuma?', Sivaangi asked.
'Kelu ma',he said.
'Yeppavum ellaru nammakitta kepaangalla,namakulla enna iruku nu..',she asked and he nodded.
'Appo lam,Friends,well wishers apdi ipdi nu solliduvom..Aana..Iniku naane kekuren..Namakulla enna iruku?',she asked and he chuckled.

'Unaku theriyaadha?',he asked and she smiled shyly.
'Theriyum..',she smiled.
'Enna theriyum?',he asked still holding her hands.

'கூட்டத்தின் நடுவிலும் உனது கண்கள் எனது கண்களைத் தேடும் பொழுது..

சாலைகளை கடக்கும் வேளையில் உனது கைவிரல்கள் எனது கைவிரல்களை கேட்கும் பொழுது..

நான் அழுதால் உடனே உனது கைகளை எனக்கான கைக்குட்டையாக நீ மாற்றும் பொழுது...

எனக்கென கிடைக்கும் வெற்றியின் மகிழ்ச்சியினை எனது கண்களை விட‌ சற்றே மிகுதியாக உனது‌‌ கண்கள் பிரதிபலிக்கும் பொழுது...

தெரிந்தது இருவருக்கும் இடையேயான பெயரற்ற உறவின் பெயரும் அர்த்தமும்..

Ashwin was astonished hearing her words,each and every words of her reached his heart.

Both saw eachother's flushed face and chuckled together.
'Neeye ezhudhuniya?Romba azhaga iruku', Ashwin said and she smiled.

'Solluviya?',she asked.
'Solluven..Aana ippo illa..',he shrugged.
'Hmmm...Appo yeppo?', Sivaangi asked.
'Iniku enna day?',Ashwin asked.
'Wednesday Ashwineyy',she said.

'Appo naalanaiku?',he asked.
'Friday',she replied and he hit his forehead.

'Loosu loosu.. Friday nu theriyudhu,vera enna?',he said and she again thought for a while.

'Adaa aama en birthday Ashwineyy..',she said and he nodded with a chuckle.
'Naaliku naanum ooruku poren.. Bangalore Admission podradhuku..Un bday aniku naan inga iruppen,idhe edathula Idhe maari unkaiya pudichu,un kanna paathu..solren..',he said and she nodded.

'Ashwineyyy.. I have something for you',Sivaangi said and Ashwin nodded a no.
'Venaam ma,Naan unkitta sonnadhuku apro idha nee enkitta kudu apo vaangikure..',he said and she nodded happily.

'Seri nga madam,Ippo time aachu,Neenga veetuku kelambunga,naanu kelamburen..',Ashwin said and what Sivaangi did next made him to stand rooted on the ground.

'Byeee Ashwineyyyyy...',she kissed his cheek before running from him..He smiled touching the place she kissed and walked from there with his cycle.

After two days,Ashwin returned to their hometown.He waited for Sivaangi for a long time but no sign of her.He then informed his friends and they all left to Sivaangi's house.

'Enna da veedu poteeruku?',Sanjay asked Ashwin who has no idea about it.They asked their neighbours and they informed the friends that they vacated the house last night,no one knows the reason for it.

Ashwin's world stopped spinning for a minute.He couldn't believe that his Sivaangi left him without any trace and that too without hearing those words from him..

Everyone started clapping their hands which made Ashwin's trance break.Sivaangi looked at him with her tears filled eyes so as Ashwin.

She got down from the stage and spoke with her friends for a while.The time went with a swift and they all had dinner together.In the meanwhile,both stole glances of eachother.Eventhough they stood in distance and distracted themselves with the other mates,their eyes still searched eachother and laid on eachother's.

Everyone was busy in dancing and consuming,snacks and drinks after the dinner.

'Hey..',Sivaangi called Ashwin who stood alone in one corner, admiring the dark sky.
'Heyy..',he smiled back.

A meaningful silence prevailed between them and Ashwin broke it.
'Yepdi iruka Sivaangi ma?',he asked.

'Hmm Good Ashwin..Nee?',she asked.
'Hmm Good',he smiled.

'Happy for your growth Ashwin..',she said and he muttered a thanks to her.

'Yen aniku sollaama pona?',he asked and she chuckled.
'Some tales are better untold Ashwin',she said and he smiled.

'Enga irundha ithana naala?Enna paakanum,pesanum edhume thonalaya unaku?',he asked and his shown the missings that he has undergone till this day.

'Thonichu Ashwin,Enga appa enna kootitu pogumbodhu unna kadasiya unna orudhadavaiyaachum paakanumnu thonichu,
Un first book release aana apo,naan unaku call pannen..Aana pesala..Nee Hello Hello nu sollumbodhu pesanumnu thonichu..',she confessed and he stood still.

'THE PROMISE I MADE',Yes that's Ashwin's first work.
'Enaku theriyum..Adhula irundha ovvaru vaarthaikum pinnadi irukura artham, Enaku purinjudhu yennaa,andha arthame naan dhan..Azhudhen,Rasichen for each and every word.. You've penned it down beautifully..And aniku naan unkitta sonna andha kavidhai..Adha innum nyabagam vechuruka..',she said floating in tears.

'Yepdi marappen?Nee enkooda irundha last minutes..en life oda precious gift Sivaangi..Yeppavume marakka maaten',Ashwin said and Sivaangi wiped her flowing tears.

'Andha Kavidhai ya naan nenachu paakurappo ellam..Unnoda andha sirippum,nee kadasiya en kannathula kudutha andha mutham um dha nyabagam varum..',Ashwin finished and Sivaangi swallowed the lump formed in her throat looked at Ashwin's tears.

'Sivaangi ma..',he called her and she looked at him in silence.
'Andha promise ah naan neravethanum..Ippo!',he said and held her hands.

'Andha uravuku enna peru,namakulla enna irukunu nee aniku ketella?Ippo sollanumnu thonudhu...Adhu..',he looked into her red eyes
'En life la nee romba special aana oru person Sivaangi..Naan unkitta sollanumnu nenachadha andha book la ezhudhala .Ippo solren kelu',Ashwin continued..

'Happy Birthday Sivaangi',he said and Sivaangi blinked at him.
'Iniku un birthday!Un birthday aniku dhan idha naan unkitta sollanumnu nenache..Aana aniku mudila.. Therinjey dhan indha naal la naan reunion arrange panne,Nee varuvennu enakulla oru nambikka,Vandhuta!Solliten!',Ashwin said and Sivaangi choked in tears.

'Ashwin,I have something for you..',she gave him a box and Ashwin received it from her.

Both looked at eachother and Ashwin looked at her with a lot of emotions in his eyes.She closed her eyes and him too.
He leaned towards her but he doesn't felt her.

Ashwin opened his eyes and found she was not infront of him.He let his eyes roam around but she was no where.

Ashwin ran towards the crowd and searched her.He rushed to Sanjay, Vinay and Sharanya.
'Deii Sivaangi yenga da?',Ashwin asked.
'Yenga nu enga kitta kekura?Unkitta dhana da pesitu irundhaa..', Sharanya said and Ashwin ran from there without replying them.

He rushed to the entrance but failed.He realised she is gone.

Ashwin opened the gift and found a locket inside along with a letter.

Hii Ashwin,
I know you're searching me now..But I have to go..
I have few words to share with you..

I know this day will arrive someday.You know Ashwin,I have no answers for my whereabouts and present life.Do you know what is that locket?That was the gift I wanted to give you the day we met for the last time..Open it..

Ashwin opened the locket and found a photo inside.It was cropped from their 12th std group photo.Ashwin was sitting on the top of her seat and Sivaangi was exactly below him.The picture showed Sivaangi's head infront of Ashwin's chest.

He chuckled in tears seeing the picture and continued reading it..

Hope you loved it.I have the same locket with the same picture behalf of your memories.
Ashwin,Not every love story will have a happy ending..

I know, I'm the one who left you that time and now.But this is what God have written for us.Please don't ask me any reason and please don't hate me! I know you'll never.

A lone tear escaped his eye reading her note.

He realised what she said is true,Its better to some memories stays as memories!

'Ava enga macha?',Vinay asked patting Ashwin's shoulder.
'Kelambeeta machaa..',Ashwin smiled weakly.

'Naan veetuku poren da..',Ashwin said.
'Yen da?Ennaachu?',Vinay asked.
'En climax ah mudikanum..',Ashwin smiled before leaving..
