Ashaangi TS Intertwined Part - II

Sivaangi bid bye to her friend and hopped inside the car waiting for her. She quickly made a call to her parents informing of her arrival at Hyderabad. Tej, one of Pugazh's assistant has agreed to help her with the surprise. She has pretty much planned everything with his help.

It was 9 when Sivaangi reached the hotel Pugazh and the cast of the movie staying in. It's little away from the city. PH chose this as it is nearby the shooting spot. Tej has already informed the receptionist about Sivaangi's arrival and so, the receptionist handed over Pugazh's room's key to Sivaangi.

Sivaangi smiled to herself as the receptionist gushed about how much he loves Sivaangi's singing and she took a selfie with him before walking to Pugazh's room. She entered the room and put the card on the slot, illuminating the room.

Sivaangi looked around the neat room and placed her bag on the bed. She placed her finger on her chin as she thought of where to start the decoration before she started taking out the decoration things.

Her mobile vibrated, pulling Sivaangi's attention to her mobile. It was Tej's call. She accepted the call with a smile and filled the guy that she has reached safely. Tej informed her that he'll send dinner for her and that Pugazh's birthday cake would reach within half an hour and that she can store it in the mini fridge in the room.

Sivaangi asked when Pugazh would get off from the shooting. Tej informed her that he would reach around within 12:30 and asked her to stay safe before hanging up the call.

She could have arranged professional event planners to get the room ready but Sivaangi wanted to decorate the surprise herself for her brother. And so, she took out the balloons and few decorations she brought with her.

A knock grabbed Sivaangi's attention as she placed down the things on the bed and jogged to get the door. It was a girl in her mid-twenties smiling at her.

"Hey Sivaangi, I'm Samutra. Tej sent me to help you" Samutra said and Sivaangi welcomed Samutra with a grateful smile.

The girls fell into a comfortable conversation and soon find themselves getting along really well. They started on with the decoration work while chatting with each other. Half way through Sivaangi's dinner reached her and she asked Samutra to have dinner with her which Samutra politely declined as she already had her dinner.

The girls have managed to decorate the room to their personal best. By the time they finished, the cake arrived which they stored in the mini fridge. Once all the work got over, Samutra leaded Sivaangi to her room and left after exchanging contacts.

Sivaangi stretched her arms as she walked around her room and settled down on the bed groaning to herself as the day's tiredness caught up with her. She quickly made calls to her parents and updated them with what she did so far. Her parents had their concerns but knowing Sivaangi is fine, they calmed down and asked her to have fun.

Placing her mobile down, Sivaangi sighed and looked at the ceiling. Despite being busy, she can't help but think of Ashwin. How nice it would be had their bond be the same? They could have planned the whole surprise together and had fun with Pugazh!

Sivaangi's mind wandered to all those times she deliberately cancelled programs where Ashwin would be. Her eyes longed to see him in person but she was also scared to face him after what she did.

For the world, Sivaangi is this bold girl who has guts to speak her heart. But in this case, she's scared. She knows one thing for sure. She has hurt a soul who cared her, protected her and valued her like no one else did.

Sighing, Sivaangi blinked back her tears as she sat up on the bed. She reached for her bag and took out the dark chocolate she has grown to like. She munched on the bitter goodness as she switched on the TV and browsed on Tamil music channels.

Humming the tune to herself, Sivaangi pick out her outfit for the night and had a refreshing bath. As she walked out dressed in fresh clothes, she took out her accessories and put on them before applying a minimal makeup.

As she was doing her eyes with Kajal, Sivaangi stiffened when she heard Kanna Veesi song playing on the TV. Gulping to herself, she raised her eyes and looked at TV's reflection in the mirror.

A smile touched Sivaangi's lips, her eyes moistened a bit as she recalled how she sang the song for Ashwin on his immunity win. Shaking her head, Sivaangi sang along the lyrics as her eyes fixed on the TV's reflection on the mirror. She didn't dare to turn back at the TV.

The song ended and a peppy Anirudh's song started playing. Sighing to herself, Sivaangi worked on her eyes. Her mobile started ringing around 11:45. It was from Tej who informed her that the shoot was wrapped and Pugazh would be there within 12:15.

Sivaangi asked Tej to inform her when Pugazh reaches hotel and ended the call after thanking him, switched off the TV and got on her legs. She grabbed her mobile and room keys before exiting the room. She locked her room and walked to Pugazh's.

Sivaangi made sure everything's okay with the decorations and took out the cake from the mini fridge. She placed the cake on the decorated coffee table and waited for Tej's call.

At 11:55 Sivaangi received Tej's text making her jump on her legs. She quickly glanced around making sure everything's on its place before rushing to the card slot. She pulled out the card from its slot and switched on the flashlight smiling victoriously.

Because of their packed schedules, Sivaangi and Pugazh barely had time to spend with each other. This surprise visit could be a good thing. Sivaangi received a text from Tej bidding her good night. She replied him with a Thank you and clasped her hand together in excitement.

Sivaangi felt a movement behind the room door making her grip tighter on the mobile before switching off the flashlight. She's ready on her spot. When she felt the door opening slightly, Sivaangi leaned against the wall nearby the card slot, preparing herself to bounce.

Sivaangi's smile faded a little when she saw the silhouette of the person entering the room. The shadow was taller comparing to her brother's height. She scrunched her eyebrows in confusion but shrugged since shadow can be shorter or longer depending on how close the person is to the light.

With her finger ready to press the flashlight, Sivaangi let Pugazh inside. She's going to scare her brother and then will laugh at his expense. She grinned gripping her mobile tighter unaware that she's the one who's going to get surprised.

On the other hand, Ashwin Kumar, who had completed his Bangalore shooting returned that night to join Pugazh's birthday celebration in the movie set. The duo left the shooting spot together after a hearty dinner and fun in the set.

As Pugazh had to take call from his family, he sent Ashwin to his room first as the guys decided to catch up before calling it night while he sat comfortably on the empty lobby couch to take his calls.

Ashwin opened Pugazh's room door as he was checking his mobile. With a tired sigh, he pocketed his mobile and stepped inside the room. He walked inside the dark room and turned to the card slot.

Just before Ashwin could place the card on its slot, a sudden appearance of light and a face with hairs over it startled him making him jump back and fall flat on his bum as a startled scream escaped his lips.

Sivaangi broke into laughter as she turned to put the card on its slot and pushed her hair back. She switched off her flash light preparing herself to scream "Happy Birthday" at her brother but stiffened on seeing the person on the floor.

A gasp left Sivaangi's lips, her smile died down as she stared at a startled Ashwin, his eyes wide, lips parted in shock and hand on his heart trying to calm his racing heart. Sivaangi, though she dreaded meeting Ashwin, has imagined lot of scenarios of how she and Ashwin will meet again. This wasn't one of them.

When Ashwin took in the sight of Sivaangi standing in front of him, his bewildered eyes got over the initial shock and took in the girl in front of him. How long it has been since he saw her in person!

A pregnant silence dominated the room as the duo started at each other. Sivaangi could feel her eyes getting moist while Ashwin was looking intently at her which turned into a glare before he masked it with indifference. Sivaangi fought the lump in her throat as Ashwin averted his gaze. She couldn't believe that Ashwin is right in front of her in person.

"Ena mapla tharai la ena panra?" A confused Pugazh walked inside on seeing Ashwin on the floor.

"Thaduki vilundhute machan" Ashwin replied with a groan as he dusted his hands.

"Thadukiya..." Pugazh muttered to himself.

Pugazh stopped in front of Ashwin and extended his hand for Ashwin to get up. Seeing Ashwin looking at the other direction, his gaze followed Ashwin's and landed on Sivaangi who stood there as if she's frozen in shock.

"Papa? Nee ena panra inga?" Pugazh asked surprised to find Sivaangi in his room. He looked at Ashwin once before setting his gaze on Sivaangi.

Pugazh's voice pulled Sivaangi out of her trance as she jerked up to look at her brother. Masking her face with a smile that didn't reach her eyes, she rushed forward and hugged her brother saying, "Happy Birthday Anne"

Pugazh hugged back his sister with a laugh as he thanked her. He was touched that Sivaangi planned this surprise for him. As Sivaangi hugged her brother, her hand accidentally grazed Ashwin's who was standing next to Pugazh making them both stiffen.

Sivaangi lifted her eyes to look at Ashwin who was staring back at her. She couldn't dare to hold his gaze and pulled away from her brother. Ashwin heaved a sigh and looked away. He couldn't process that he is in the same room as Sivaangi after six long months. His frustration, anger and pain were about to surface. So, he turned away to control himself.

"Anne, inga paru ne" Sivaangi said as she pulled Pugazh's hand and made him take a look at the decorations in the room. Pugazh was surprised to see all this and side hugged his sister.

"Wow! Super ah iruku papa" Pugazh said and turned to Ashwin, "Decorations lam nala iruku la, maple?"

"Ama machan, nalla iruku" Ashwin said giving a faint smile making Sivaangi look at him. He averted his gaze on seeing her looking at him making her look away. He's giving her cold treatment and she deserves every bit of it.

"Nee ah Sivaangi elathayum pana?" Pugazh asked impressed, amused and happy that his sister took efforts for him.

"Na matum ila ne. Tej anna ooda friend Samutra akka um enaku help pananga" Sivaangi said grabbing Pugazh's hand and dragged him towards the coffee table which had the birthday cake.

As Pugazh was expressing how delicious the cake looks, Sivaangi turned around and looked at Ashwin who looked away on seeing her gaze on him. She bit the inside of her cheek, hesitating to call Ashwin forward for cake cutting.

Swallowing the lump in her throat, Sivaangi cleared her voice trying to gain Ashwin's attention which went in vain. She frowned on seeing him looking away from her as he fiddled with his mobile.

Sivaangi heaved a restless sigh. Her hands were itching to grab Ashwin's hand and drag him around like she used to. She wanted him to look at her like he used to. But she knows nothing is the same anymore. Her finger fiddled with the black thread on her right hand as she tried to gather courage before she said,

"Ashwin"
