Ashaangi OS Heart's Solitude

Backstory: Ashwin's family owns AK Institution of Arts & Commerce (AKAC) and AK Group of Schools in Coimbatore. Ashwin was a professor himself at AKAC and also the director of the college. Ashwin and Sivaangi, his student fell in love with each other and they are now secretly dating as he's still her professor and she, his student.

Ashaangi OS Heart's Solitude

Sivaangi groaned as she rolled over her bed. She took one glance at her mobile and put it aside. She has been staying in her house at Erode for two weeks now and she's missing Ashwin a lot. She was dejected as Ashwin hasn't replied to her text which she sent 3 hours ago.

'He must be busy' Sivaangi told to herself as she sat up on the bed and switched on her laptop.

Ashwin's uncle has named Ashwin as the head for establishing AKAC's new campus at Salem so Ashwin was busy. They couldn't spend time with each other. Even seeing each other was tough with their busy schedules. Sivaangi was still sore about how he couldn't come to send her off for Erode as he was at Salem.

Shuddering out of her thoughts, Sivaangi decided to watch a movie to distract her mind. She succeeded in doing so before a romantic scene started to play and Sivaangi started to think about Ashwin again.

It has been two months since they spent time alone with each other. Sivaangi has missed the feeling of being in Ashwin's arms. She missed the way Ashwin would play with her hair, his flirty talk, his hands on her body, his lips on her neck and his teasing kisses.

Sivaangi missed Ashwin's playful side. These days he's either in a bad mood regarding work or tired. She couldn't talk to him much other than asking the basics of how his day went and if he had his food on time. Before their conversation would be engaging. But now it has reduced a lot.

Sivaangi was considerate though. She knew that he's working hard and the least she could do is being patient and understanding. But she won't lie that she doesn't feel disappointed.

Ashwin always showered her with attention before. He would make sure to spend time with her, be it in person or through calls. She has got used to all this. That is why this feels tough for her. He being in Coimbatore and she in Erode added to her tension as they can't meet whenever they want like before. She's just waiting for her vacation to over now!

Groaning, Sivaangi grabbed her pillow and gave it a crushing hug. She buried her face into the pillow. Images of Ashwin flashed in her mind as she tightened her hold on the pillow. She missed him beyond words and it's messing up her mind. She placed a kiss on pillow thinking it of Ashwin and rested herself against it.

"I miss you Ashwineyy!" Sivaangi told the pillow "I miss you so much!"

Sivaangi let go of the pillow and closed her laptop. She shook her thoughts before jumping out of the bed. She has to clear her mind. She placed her mobile on charging and walked out of her room to spend some time with her family.

Sivaangi spent some time with her mother and decided to go to her uncle's place to meet her cousins. After spending some time with them, she came back after an hour and walked straight to her room. She took her mobile and was surprised to see a missed call from Ashwin.

Sivaangi chided herself for leaving her mobile behind and called him right away. She frowned when he cut her call. A message popped up saying 'In a meeting'. Dejected, she quickly sent a text to Ashwin that she was out and placed the mobile back.

At night, Sivaangi was reading a Wattpad story. She hugged her pillow and placed her head against it for support. She was reading a romantic story and she felt lonely, missing Ashwin's presence.

Sivaangi's eyes lit up as she received a text from Ashwin.

"Oi Rowdy👀"

"Oruthar ku avar ku girlfriend iruku nu ipo than nyabagam vandhuchu pola😒" (Seems someone just remembered that he has a girlfriend!)

"Apdilam ila ma" (It's not like that)

"Epadi ila?" (Not like what?)

And they chatted for some time. Ashwin apologized and explained how he had a tiring day that. Sivaangi asked him to take rest but Ashwin insisted her to chat. So, she told him about her day. She expected him to reply back and tease her as he always does but received 'Hmm' in response which turned her mood off.

Sivaangi asked Ashwin to sleep. When Ashwin asked her to keep chatting, she sent a good night and went offline. She figured out that he's sleepy and she didn't want to keep him up. She also didn't want to talk when all she received is a monosyllabic response.

When Sivaangi couldn't even get a proper reply from Ashwin then how will she tell him that she misses him and his presence? She wanted to say so many things, have a light hearted conversation with him, even flirt a little. But he was not in such a mood.

Sivaangi glanced at her mobile once and kept it aside. She pulled her pillow into her arms and buried her face into it, trying to fight off the loneliness that ate her within. Thinking of Ashwin, Sivaangi fell into sleep.

One night, Sivaangi twisted and turned on her bed. It was 10:30 in night and her mind was off. She had a splitting headache from evening and refused to take meds when her mother offered her after dinner as she won't be able to wake up at night after having her meds. Ashwin replied her text that he would call her tonight and she's waiting for his call.

"Sivaangi, Inum thoongama ena panra?" Binny asked entering Sivaangi's room "Inum thalai valikutha ena?" (Why aren't you sleeping yet? Is it still paining?)

Sivaangi nodded in a yes while holding her head in her hands. Binny scolded her for not taking meds and went out of the room. She came back with a glass of milk and made Sivaangi drink the milk. She then gave her meds and took Sivaangi's mobile out of her grip.

"Amma!" Sivaangi shrieked "Ena ma ipdi panringa! En mobile..." (Why are you doing this! My mobile...)

"Ipo dhana tablet pota. Olunga rest edu. Unaku mobile nalaiku morning dha tharuve. Va, padu olunga ipo" Binny chided Sivaangi and made her lie down while Sivaangi grew anxious. (You just took tablet. Rest now. I'll give you your mobile only in morning. Now sleep)

Sivaangi kept asking her mobile from Binny who grew tired of her daughter's antics and finally handed it to Sivaangi.

"Mobile pakama thoongu. Na edaila vandhu paapen" Binny warned Sivaangi for the final time before closing her room door. (Keep your mobile aside and sleep. I'll check on you)

Sivaangi visibly relaxed. Making sure that Binny has went to her room, she opened her mobile and checked if Ashwin has replied her. She waited for an hour, fighting her sleep and got fed up around 12. She googled a quote image for disappointment, changed her WhatsApp status privacy to share 'only with' and selected Ashwin's contact.

"Sometimes we create our own heartbreaks through expectation"

"I hate when you're excited for something but then it ends up not happening"

After uploading her status, she heaved a sigh in frustration, placed her mobile away and closed her eyes. Soon sleep took over her.

For the next few days, Ashwin and Sivaangi had a tough time. He has seen her status and they got into an argument. Sivaangi didn't want to argue but she couldn't keep her feelings in check although she knows he's not at fault but situation is. She stopped replying him and he didn't text her either.

After five days of silent treatment, when Sivaangi was immersed in reading a Wattpad story, she received a text from Ashwin. Surprised, she opened the text.

"Can we talk, Sivaangi?"

Sivaangi's heart quicken. She was glad that he finally decided to talk. She was missing him terribly.

"Hmm" She replied.

Within few seconds her mobile started ringing. She attended the call and placed it against her ears. Both didn't speak anything for a minute, just reading each other's silence.

"Sivaangi" Ashwin said in a deep voice finally breaking the silence between them.

"Hmmm" Sivaangi replied not knowing what to say. She felt good hearing her name from his voice after a long time. She missed him terribly.

"Inum en mela kovama?" Ashwin asked in a soft tone. (Are you still angry with me?)

"Ongaluku en mela kovam ah" Sivaangi asked back. (Are you angry with me?)

"I could never stay angry at you for long, Sivaangi" Sivaangi heard Ashwin say.

"Five days is too long, you know" Sivaangi said, her voice breaking into tears.

"Hey Rowdy, don't cry" Ashwin sounded panicked "I'm sorry"

Sivaangi gulped down her tears and tried to sound okay but her voice gave away that she's down and gloomy.

"I'm sorry for arguing with you that day, Sivaangi. I'm sorry that I couldn't communicate with you properly. Its just new campus work is stre-"

"I know, Ashwin. You don't have to explain" Sivaangi said getting a hold of her voice "I know that you are involved in serious work and I'm not holding you at fault here. It's just... I don't know. I'm not complaining, no I'm not. I'm trying to be considerate but sometimes I feel lonely, you know. I was used to your presence and attention all the time. But for the past few months we haven't even communicated properly with each other, let alone see each other. We rarely talk these days. Even if we talk, our conversation is filled with monosyllabic response that my mind goes off. I don't hold you at fault here. I know you must be tired after a long day. Though I keep telling myself that you're busy and I shouldn't feel too disappointment, I couldn't handle it at times. I started feeling lonely. We being in separate places doesn't help the cause too. I miss the feeling of being in your embrace. I miss our carefree talks. I miss the way we sneak out and meet. I miss the way you make me feel butterflies flying in my stomach with just a single text. I miss your surprise kisses. I miss you, Ashwineyy. I miss us"

Sivaangi's voice reduced to silent tears towards the end. None of them said anything as silence dominated their conversation.

"I'm sorry" Ashwin said after a long silence, his voice deep "I'm sorry that I made you feel this way, Rowdy. I should have communicated better"

"I'm sorry" Sivaangi replied, gulping down her tears "I should have told you what I felt without holding back"

And so, Ashwin and Sivaangi has made out their difference. They talked about how much they two missed each other in the past few months. After an hour of heart conversation, they both hang up the call.

Sivaangi had a wide smile as she collapsed on her bed and took her pillow in her embrace. She felt good after having a long conversation with Ashwin. Suddenly a thought ran through her mind. She sat up excitedly and took her marker pen from the side table. She moved the pillow cover aside and wrote AK on her pillow.

"Now I'll feel that you're always with me, Ashwineyy. Perfect!" Sivaangi said as she admired her little work and hugged the pillow close to her hearty and laid down to sleep with a wide grin on her face.

"I love you Ashwineyy" Sivaangi said placing a big kiss on pillow and soon slept while hugging the pillow, dreaming of her Ashwin. Distance doesn't matter as long as hearts are connected.
