(Season 3: Episode 1 - Episode 8) Zaylee's POV

Ash's squirtle helped put out a massive fire. With the help of a local fire fighter squad. I also had my eighth birthday, it was weird without Ash there. But I still had a lot of fun with mum and Professor Oak.

Ash's last battle before he could compete in the Orange league was a double. He choose his charizard and Pickachu. At first they weren't in sync with their moves. But they pulled it together and won the final match. I am so proud of Ash getting all four badges.

Anyway, Ash's next adventure was seeing magikarp evolve. He and his friends helped a researcher who studied magikarp. 70% of Magikarp evolved into gyrados. Ash and Tracy then got sick after a run in with a vileplume. But Misty was able to find a herb that cured them. She also caught herself a poliwag.

Ash won the orange league. Mum and I watched it on TV with Professor Oak. I sent him Zeus as Snorlax wouldn't wake up. So he sent Snorlax to Professor Oak and I. We are so proud of Ash. He now has a trophy and a place in the Hall of Fame at the Orange Islands.

On their way back to Pallet town. They came across Lapras' old float and saved it from team rocket. Ash then released Lapras so that it could leave with it's mother and float. Before he and the other two continued on their journey back to Pallet Town.

(Season 3: Episode 9 - Episode 16)

 About a week ago Brock appeared. Well mum and Mimie stepped on him on their way back from the store. Honestly, I was wondering why they took so long. Whenever we tried to as Brock why he wasn't with Professor Ivy, he just told us he didn't want to talk about it and not to mention her name. He has been with us ever since and he keeps trying to steal Mimie's chores. I was fine with him taking mine, it meant I could spend more time at the lab.

Anyway, Ash should be returning any day now with Misty and Tracey. I am currently as the lab polishing all the eggs in the incubation room. When I hear the door bell, odd we weren't expecting anyone today. I put the egg back and head for the front room. "Professor Oak!" I hear Ash shout and squeal.

"Pikachu!" I cheer.

"Pika pi!" he cheers and jumps into my arms.

"Oh I've missed you Pikachu, congrats on helping Ash win the Orange League" I tell him.

"Pi chu" he says happily nuzzling me.

"Zaylee!" Ash exclaims.

"Oh hi Ash, Misty and Togepi" I say as Pikachu perches on my shoulder. "You must be Tracey, a pleasure to meet you" I say smiling at Ash's new friend.

"Likewise, is Professor Oak around?" he asks me.

"I think he was feeding Muk" I state when Muk appears tackling Ash. "Muk" I say laughing. As Professor Oak appears and says hello to Ash. Tracey sketches Muk hugging professor Oak. Ash gives Professor Oak the GS ball. We put it in the pokeball vault before Professor Oak goes to give the others a tour. While I go back to finish polishing the eggs.

I rejoin them in the lounge as Professor Oak checks out Tracey's sketches. I was playing with Pikachu and Togepi. While Ash, Misty and Brock had some tea. While Tracey was a nervous wreck while Professor Oak looked at his sketches. I found it very amusing.

Suddenly the ground shakes and the sunlight disappears. The whole lab was encased in a tent. It was team rocket, they were trying to steal the labs pokemon again. Team rocket had a new pokemon since I last saw them. Jesses now has a Lickitongue. They probably would have won, had Gary not come home when he did and shredded the tent with his nidoqueen. They sent team rocket flying, saved all the pokeballs and freed us.

"Thank you nidoqueen" I say with a smile and offer her a treat. She makes a happy sound and eats it.

"What have I said about spoiling my pokemon Zaylee?" Gary asks me.

"Oh come on, she saved the day. She deserved a treat" I tell him and he nods his head. Then Ash just had to challenge Gary to a battle. Seriously, why must they always fight?

They had a one on one fight. Between Ash's Pikachu and Gary's Eevee. Who is bloody adorable, I want one. Brock was the referee. Eevee won the match. Ash promised Gary one day he'd beat him before Gary left. For his new journey and Professor Oak got to scanning the GS ball. Misty and I told Ash about Gary alreadybeing on a new journey. Professor Oak told Ash about how Gary is entering the Johto League.

Ash being Ash, decided he was going to enter is also. He was given back the GS ball by professor Oak. Who asked Ash to deliver it to Kurt, the pokeball inventor. Who is in Johto. We then left for home and arrive to see mum packing Ash's travel bag. Apparently she'd gotten a call from Professor Oak.

"Aren't you going to ask to come Zaylee?" Ash asks me. As we eat dinner.

"Nope" I tell him. "Besides mum needs me here with Brock leaving with you. And I am still not old enough, right mum?" I ask.

"Right dear" she says smiling. "But I am very proud of how much you've been learning at the lab. You will be a fine trainer one day" she adds. As Professor Oak gives Asha new Pokedex. Tracey decides to stay in Pallet town to help Professor Oak and I at the lab. He will be Professor Oak's assistant.

Ash, Brock and Misty left early the next morning. Tracey introduced me to his pokemon. Ash promised to bring us home another trophy. It was hard to see Ash leave again, but I know he will be back. He always comes back. Professor Oak, has me show Tracey around the lab as the tour yesterday was interrupted by team rocket. So that's what I did. I also told Tracey mine and the professors usual routine. Before leaving him with Professor Oak, so that I could go do my chores for the day.

Ash and his friends arrived at New Bark town safely. I also learned that Johto had different starters to Kanto. Still a water, grass and fire type. But where we have charmander, they have cyndiquil, in place of bulbasaur they had a chikorita and lastly they have a totodile instead of a squirtle. Professor Oak gave me access to all the knowledge he has on the Jhoto pokemon and I loved learning about them all.

Not much happened after that. Other then Ash made a new friend and rival in a new Pokemon trainer. Called Casey. Ash caught his first pokemon in Johto, a heracross. Ash and his friends then helped save a small valley from Team Rocket. Ash and his friends caught up to Gary in a forest full of ghost pokemon. Gary told them they needed a hoothoot to cross the forest safely. Or they risked being trapped forever. They took Gary's advice and were able to get out of the forest safely.

(Season 3: Episode 17 - Episode 25)

So not much has happened. Ash still doesn't have his first badge. But we heard from Gary and he is about to challenge his second gym. Ash and his friends helped stop team rocket from stealing from a museum. Along with the help of an officer Jenny and her spinarak.

Anyway, I am in the nursery and see one of the eggs glowing and gasp. I grab it gently and race to the lab. Where Professor Oak is performing a test with Tracey. "Professor Oak, this egg is ready to hatch" I tell him.

"Oh my, it's early" he states. Taking the egg gently from me. "Tracey contact Nurse Joy and Zaylee you know what we need" he adds.

"Warm water and towels, I'm on it" I tell him and run to get the supplies. Nure Joy soon arrives and not even ten minutes later the egg hatches. "It's a meowth, so cute" I say as I pick it up gently. It purrs nuzzling me and I giggle. "I'm Zaylee, lets give you a bath and then Nurse Joy can give your a medical exam" I state.

I lower it gently into warm water and it stiffens. I hush it gently and hum the lullaby mum used to sing to me. It relaxes and I give it a bath. I dry it and hand it to Nurse Joy. "You're really good at that" Tracey states.

"I've been in charge of the nursery since I first started working here. I've seen and helped about ten pokemon hatch in the year I've worked here" I tell him with a smile.

"The baby pokemon just love her" Professor Oak says with a proud smile. "She helps with their socialization with both people and pokemon. As well as introduces to all the different habits and desentise them to sounds along with everything they could encounter in their future life" he tells Tracey.

"Wow, you do all of that yourself?" he asks me impressed.

"Not all of it, but most of it. I love helping the baby pokemon grow and become confident. Though I do miss them when they leave to go be with their trainers" I add. As I prepare meowth's food.

"But they always come back" Professor Oak says as Nurse Joy returns with the baby meowth.

"She is perfectly healthy" she declares handing her to me. I smile and start to feed her. "You take such good care of all the baby pokemon Zaylee, I think you would be an excellent nurse or breeder one day" she tells me.

"Maybe, I'm still deciding what I want to be" I tell her. "But whatever it is, I know it'll involve pokemon" I add smiling down at meowth. It finishes it's battle and goes to sleep. "I'm gonna go put her in the nursery, then I have to head home" I state and leave. I place Meowth in a fur lined basket in a play pen. I hope she won't cause the boys to much trouble until I get back from my weekend off with mum.

Turns out, they couldn't handle meowth without me. She refused to eat for them. So she came to stay at my house for the weekend. I hope she grows less attached, as I am not her trainer. But until then I will train her to be more independent of me. Oh and we heard from Ash. Apparently, caught himself a chikorita. She is so cute, I can't wait to meet her in person. Apparently she really likes Ash and can be jealous when Ash gives another pokemon or person attention. I wonder if that's true?

(Season 3: Episode 26 - Episode 34)

I didn't hear from Ash again until he won his first badge in the Johto league. Tracey has settled in well at the lab, it's like he has always been apart of the team. Me, I am now allowed to monitor the pokemon on the different reserves without an adult present. I take notes on who interacts with who, pokemon well being and any behavioral changes. But I also still look after the nursery pokemon and help train Ash's in my down time. Which I don't get a lot of anymore.

Anyway, not long after Ash won his first badge. He and his friend came across as valley full of wild charizard. Called the Charicific Valley. Ash's charizard decided to stay, so that he could train to become stronger. Like the other charizard there, that are way stronger then him. Liza a pokemon trainer who lives in the valley with her own charizard promised to watch over Ash's charizard for him.

I sigh as I look at the video phone. "Missing Ash?" mum asks as she joins me.

"Yes" I tell her. It's my day off from the lab and I've already done my house chores. So I am a little bored. "I wish he'd call home more, he calls Professor Oak more then he does us" I say pouting.

"Your brother is training very hard on his journey in Johto" mum reminds me. I sigh. "How about you take this packed lunches to Professor Oak and Tracey?" she suggests handing me a basket.

"Sure" I say with a small smile. "Mum, I know I am to young to go on a journey. But could I go for a walk at route one? Please?" I plead.

"I don't know dear, there are a bunch of wild pokemon there" she states.

"Please? I promise to be back before sunset" I tell her.

"Ok, but just to route one. No farther and drop off the lunches first" she tells me. I nod and leave the house. I go to the lab and dropped off the food. Before heading for route one. As I explore I see a flock of pidgey, I crouched down behind a bush to observe them. It's so cool to see them in the wild. Sure I've seen wild pidgey at the lab, but it's not the same as seeing them in the wild.

Suddenly a Pidgeot lands in front of me and coos. I look at it confused. Then gasp. "Pidgeot!" I cheer and stand slowly. "Do you remember me? I'm Zaylee, Ash's little sister" I tell it as I approach it slowly. He cocks his head to the side and I pat his beak fondly. He coos happily.

He then did something unexpected. He took off and picked me up in his claws. I screamed in shock as he took off. He then dropped me and did a loop catching me on his back. I laugh happily as he flies around as the wild pidgey join us. "This is amazing!" I cheer and he squawk. I don't know how long we flew for, but he eventually landed at the edge of Pallet town and I slid off of his back.

"Thank you, I hop we can fly again one day" I tell him patting his neck. He nods and leaves. I go home and arrive to smell dinner ready. "Mum, I'm home!" I call.

"Did you have fun dear?" she asks me. I tell her all about how I saw Ash's old pidgeot and he took me a for a flight. She was glad I had so much fun. Tracey and Professor Oak joined us for dinner.

(Season 3: Episode 35 - Episode 43)

When we heard from Ash, he told me how he helped a trainer at pokemon dojo learn to enjoy pokemon battling again. Not long after, Ash caught himself a cyndiquil. Ash and his friends finally reached the town where Kurt lives and gave him the GS ball. In return he made them each a new pokeball using apricons. Ash and Misty both got a lure ball, which is good for catching water pokemon. Brock got a heavy ball, which are good are catching heavy pokemon. There are as many types as there are apricons. Professor Oak allowed me to look up each type. Also Brock caught himself a new pokemon, a Pineco.

Kurt tells them that he sees the GS Ball is advanced, yet primitive, so has no clue about it. Kurt sees that it has a lock that needs to be broken. Kurt asks them to leave the GS Ball with him. Ash and his friends told us all about it. Before he and his friends continued on their journey with their new pokemon balls.

Ash finally got his second badge from a gym that specialized in bug pokemon. Not long after Ash's squirtle reunited with it's squirtle squad and helped them win a fire fighting competition. Officer Jenny thanks him for allowing his Squirtle to rejoin its friends. Squirtle bids farewell to Ash and his friends. Including his pokemon. Ash told his Squirtle they will be friends, no matter what and bids him farewell. I know in my heart they will meet again one day.

(Season 3: Episode 44 - Episode 52)

Again we didn't hear from Ash for a while. Until he caught his own totodile. He and Misty fought over who caught totodile. As they threw their lure balls at the same time. They had a battle to determine who'd keep totodile. Misty lost, but her poliwag evolved into a poliwhirl during the battle, so she was very happy. Nevertheless, Ash is pleased Totodile is a member of his team.

The next pokemon Ash caught was a shiny Noctowl. Shiny pokemon are very rare. Only one in  five hundred and twelve pokemon are shiny. Ash is so lucky to have one. I wonder if I will have a shiny pokemon one day? Professor Oak let me read the files he had on exiting documented shiny pokemon. There weren't many discovered yet. There have been ten found and photographed in Kanto and only four in Johto. So far.

We didn't hear again from Ash. But I focused more on my studies. I wanted to keep up to date with all the latest pokemon news. From new pokemons being discovered, to new shinys, new training methods, or ways to care for pokemon. I was also stuying maps of each region so that I'd be prepared for when I go on my own journey in a year and half. I wonder what my first pokemon will be?
