Pelt design tutorial ig?

I was asked to do a pelt design tutorial

This is just me randomly designing a cat and showing the steps in a way

Do not expect this to be 100% helpful i had no clue what i was doing 💀💀💀

I used an old drawing i did as a base cuz lAzInEsS

First i select a base color (i chose blue-gray cuz- I can and blue is my fav color so y e s)

Then i decide on the first step of the design

I chose a mask  cuz why not?

I start with two sorta circle like things and connect them

Then color it in

I decided to make some of the paws white

When i do this i will sometimes make them all white but i like having a verity

Like

This one has three white paws

This one has all four

Oh this one can have one

This one wont have any white paws but will have a white tail tip and ears

Sometimes i just do a color that goes good with it, it doesnt have to be white

Then i took the base color and made it a bit darker to add above the white

Really just do whatever you feel like doing. Its fun when you have a variety of different designs too many with the same features / close to the same features can get boring i like to make my characters look unique but not so unique i hate to draw them multiple times because the pelt is wayyyyy to hard

Then i added strips to the tail

I just like the way the tails look when i do it (OH MY GOSH THE CAT HAS RACCOON FEATURES I JUST REALIZED THAT)

I looked at too many raccoons before drawing this- tHe MaSk ThE sTrIpEd TaIl ItS rAcCoOn CaT

Then i added some dots cuz i wanted a ticked tabby (half my cats aren't 100% accurate in complete designs but it's slightly there)

Then i blurred it

When i blur like this i tap the screen to blur it, not (idk how to explain to other way-) like- rub it ig to describe it- when you want a very cool blendy look.

Then here i was adding white

This white could have just been splotches but for this one i went on another layer so i could turn the opacity down and some of the spots would look slightly different colored/lighter

I turned this down to like 25% for the lighter color

For this, if you want it two different colors for a ticked tabby like this one

Then turn the opacity down but not as low as the white most times if you want it more like this, as lower will make it less noticeable and depending on the color can look awkward

This one i lowered to 55%

Then i add the eye color/nose color (i sometimes to nose splotches)/ear colors

And thats how i design cats :)
