Chapter 9 - The Truth.
Previously.
"I have some things I need to tell you, about your mother." Aaron said, Ashton could tell his father was nervous, whatever he was going to tell him Ashton knew his father was scared of his reaction.
"Do not worry father, there is nothing you can tell me that will make me hate you or leave you. I have just found my father, I do not want to leave you again." Ashton said, and this calmed down his father greatly.
"Ashton, your mother was not from around here, she was not fully human." Aaron said, looking worried about his sons reaction.
Ashton was not hateful to his father and he felt no anger towards him either, all he could feel was confusion. Did this mean he was not human?
"She wasn't human? I am not angry dad but does this mean I am not human?" Ash asked.
Aaron looked a little put off about this question. "I am unsure son, I know she was a Pokemon and that I am human, but I do not know if her genes were passed into you." Aaron said truthfully.
"Well what happened to her?" Ashton asked, almost afraid of knowing the answer.
Aaron sighed. "It was not long after you were taken, we were both devastated and she would not leave the house. One day when I came home there was a note on the table. It said that some bad people had found her and knew what she was, they were hunting her and she didn't want to put me in danger. I tried looking for her but they must have caught her, she is a rare pokemon and they left nothing. 2 weeks after that I went to save Mew, it was a way out of that pain." Aaron said, he had been so depressed when he learned of this so he stayed in the house with his pokemon and did no training, saving Mew was a way out.
"I do not blame you dad, but you could have told me a little earlier." Ashton said with a smile.
"At least I have you with me." Aaron said, his son coming up and hugging him tightly.
"And I always will be." Ashton replied, smiling as he felt his fathers arms tighten around him. "Is there any way to find out if I am part pokemon?" Ashton asked, he didn't really mind that he could be part pokemon he thought it would be quite cool.
"Well if I am right then it is going to be your 18th birthday in a couple of weeks. When you turn 18 if you have a pokemon side it will be revealed to you." Aaron explained, while Ashton nodded.
Ashton then thought of something his father had not told him. "Dad, what type of pokemon was mom?" Ash asked.
"She was in fact a legendary pokemon." Aaron said smiling at the memory of the woman/pokemon he loved.
"You fell for a legendary pokemon? How did that happen?" Ashton asked shocked.
"Well she wasn't a pokemon when I first met her, she was a gorgeous human woman that I fell for right away. It was a few months before she told me who she really was and showed me her true form, I loved her so much that it didn't matter at all." Aaron explained.
"Wow, I know that most legendary pokemon can make themselves look human when they need to. So which one was she?" Ashton asked.
"She was the Queen of Pokemon, Arceus." Aaron said to Ashton, who looked shocked with his mouth hanging open.
"But if your telling the truth then she is not dead, I have met an Arceus." Ashton said sounding even more shocked that he could have met his mother and not known it.
"No Ash you see, when a legendary pokemon dies/leaves this world a new one is found or created. There can only be one Arceus alive at one time, and when one dies another is born most legendaries are like this but with pokemon like Diancie, Latios and Latias there are more then one pokemon but they are well hidden. Your mother is dead, the Arceus you met is probably a few down from your mother." Aaron explained.
Ashton looked sad. "Oh that's good." He sighed before he realised what he had said and slapped his hand over his mouth.
"Why is that good?" Aaron asked, confused. He thought his son would be happy with the idea of having seen his mother.
"Well you see I think I gained more then my looks from you." Ashton said, hoping his father took the hint and he wouldn't have to explain it to him, it was hard enough telling his friends that the person he liked was unusual.
"Meaning?" Aaron asked, genuinely confused.
"Meaning I too am liking a pokemon." Ash said with a bright red blush and ducking his head.
Aaron was shocked, he thought he was so wrong when he fell in love with a pokemon, some people in his time told he was sick for falling for a female pokemon while others supported his choices. "You like a pokemon? Which one?" He asked his son.
"The most recent Arceus, I met her a couple of times and I am her Chosen One. I don't know when I am close to her I get butterflies in the stomach and I can't help but blush whenever I see her or hear her talking." Ash blushed brightly realising it was his father he was saying this to.
"There is nothing to be embarrassed about son, father and son are meant to have these conversations. And from what you tell me it looks like you are falling for this pokemon." Aaron said a soft smile on his face.
"I kinda figured that out myself dad." Ashton said with a happy and joking smile.
"Come on then lets go and tell your friends." Aaron said starting to move out of the room before he noticed his son wasn't following him. "What's wrong son?" He asked.
"What if they don't like me when they find out, I mean I know they accepted that Paul and Alain are both gay, but liking a pokemon is a whole other story. I can't lose them too." Ashton said burying his face into his hands.
"Ash they are your true friends and they love you no matter what. You have nothing to worry about." Aaron said, they hugged and then left the room.
It turned out that his father was right. All of his friends accepted him for who he was and who he was falling for, he thanked them and knew that his life was only going to get better.
