Chapter 5 - Arrival.
It had been a month since they saved Midnight and things were going well. Paul had caught a Lucario that he loved dearly, as well as Ash and Paul learning how to master their Aura. They could both now talk to pokemon, both form Aura Sphere's and both throw them at an object.
They were close to the Tree of Life now. Ash could feel it, this feeling that was following him was getting stronger the closer they got to the tree, there was now a strong feeling of happiness and love coming from the feeling and that made Ash think that they were close now.
However there was the underlying feeling of something else, Ash also knew that there was at least one other pokemon, maybe more, that needed help. Ash was always willing to help pokemon in danger, but he was seriously thinking of not helping humans when they need it.
His human friends, and yes some of his pokemon friends, were the ones to betray him and on top of that it is humans that are hurting all of these pokemon, which Ash was placed on the Earth to stop.
And the Ash interpreted the feeling correctly because not a few moments later one of those loud screeched was heard.
"Will humans ever learn not to beat everything that moves?" Bonnie asked with a shake of the head.
"No Bonnie I don't think they will. I know we are humans but I am seriously going to stop helping them fix their problems." Ash said, the others nodded in agreement.
"Yeah I understand, you are the Chosen One this must hurt you seeing humans beating on pokemon." Max said looking sad.
"Come on guys, we have to go save this little one." Ash said leading his friends in the direction he heard the howl from.
They walked through some bushes and came upon a scene that made them cringe.
This time it was only one person, a grown man but he was beating another small pokemon. It was a Zorua however instead of being black with red it was black with blue. The man was throwing sticks and stones at the small pokemon, it was tied to a tree so it was not able to go anywhere.
"Hey! Stop it!" Ash yelled as he walked through the bushes.
"What do you want?" The man said, looking at Ash with pure hate.
"I want you to stop throwing things at that pokemon." Ash demanded, he was normally a calm person but when someone is threatening a pokemon or one of his friends in front of him that calmness goes.
"Why it is just a pokemon, there are plenty of them in this world?" The man asked, this shocked Ash. He was acting as if each pokemon was not special and that if one was to be gotten rid of then it would not matter.
"You really think that?" Bonnie piped up from behind them, she sounded angry too.
"Yes I do, there are so many pokemon in the world right now and more are being born, this one does not matter. I mean look at it, it doesn't even look normal." The man sneered at the pokemon, who whimpered and tried to disappear behind the tree.
"That pokemon is something special, as is every pokemon that lives in this world. Pokemon like this one are even more special because they are so rare, it is very healthy and very powerful. It is known as a shining pokemon." Ash said, though he wished he didn't have to explain to the man.
"What are you on about? This thing just has some bad genes in it." The man said, having no clue what Ash was saying.
"Mercury, come and help me!" Ash yelled, Mercury came from his Pokeball. "This is Mercury and he is a Lucario, but a shining version of one. As you can see he is silver and white rather then the normal blue and black, and his power is almost 10x stronger then the normal Lucario." Ash explained.
He then watched shocked as he chucked the stones and sticks away from him and advanced on the scared pokemon. "Well guess you have some use then, I could sell you and get some good money for you." The said with a disgusting smile.
"Sorry you will not be doing that. We are taking that pokemon with us so no one else will harm it." Ash said. The pokemon looked to Ash and seemed to nod its head as if giving Ash permission to take it.
"No this is my pokemon!" The man yelled dashing to get to the pokemon before Ash did.
However Paul had seen this coming and had called for his Aura to be in his hands, he shoved his hands in front of him and the man who had been going for the pokemon found he was bound to a tree and was unable to move.
"You see you haven't caught this pokemon so it wild, you have no claim to it. You beat it with stones and sticks which means you have even less of a claim to it." Ash said with a smile.
He advanced on the pokemon and untied it, as soon as the Zorua was free it pounced into Ash's arms. 'Thank you, thank you, thank you.' The small pokemon said over and over again, with a female voice.
"You have nothing to thank me for, I never leave a pokemon when they need help, in fact I found Mercury in much the same way as I did you." Ash said stroking the small pokemon making it purr.
'Will you take me with you as well?' The pokemon asked.
"If that is what you would like then I have no problems with that." Ash said with a smile.
'Yes it is.' The little guy said with a pokemon smile.
"Very well, I think I will name you Sapphire because of your blue colouring." Ash said, the new Sapphire smiling at her name.
The pokemon was not bothered when it was taken into the Pokeball and it was not bothered when taken into the Nanodex.
They kept on walking for the rest of the day and came to rest at the base of a large, it was night and they decided to let their pokemon out and go free before sleep.
It was when they woke up that Ash realised where they all were. "Guys it looks like our travels are over for now." Ash said with a smile, while the others in the group all looked confused.
"What do you mean Ash?" Gary asked, Paul voicing the question a few seconds after.
Ash turned to look at all his friends and pokemon that stayed with him, and the new pokemon he caught along the way.
"Everyone, human and pokemon alike, may I present to you the Tree of Life." Ash said.
The gang all looked to where he was gesturing and their mouths fell open in shock. Before them stood the largest tree that any of them had ever seen, it would make a perfect home for one of the legendary pokemon.
"Well what are we waiting for, let's go get your father." Paul said walking to the tree.
However that was not to be so fast, pokemon soon blocked their way. Strong looking pokemon that seemed to be very mad for some reason.
"Looks like my father is going to have to wait." Ash said with a sigh, he held his Nanodex ready to fight.
