The Tauros Trade

Ash & his Pokémon had finished training for the day. During their training, Ash had used his Pokédex to see what moves his Pokémon are capable of learning & he even checked their summaries.

"I never seen you get this serious before, Ash." Misty said

"Yeah, no offense but while we were traveling, you were anything but that." Brock said

"None taken." Ash said

"Hey Ash." Oak called

"What is it, Professor?" Ash said

"There's something I wanna talk to you about." Oak said "It's about your 29 Tauros."

"What about them?" Ash asked

"Well, have you ever considered trading them for other Pokémon." Oak asked

"Gee, I never thought of that." Ash sweatdropped "But how can I find Trainers who want my Tauros for their Pokémon?"

"There's a Swap Meet in Viridian City." Oak said "But before you go there, I'd like to give you a new Pokédex."

Oak gave Ash a Pokédex that resembled a Visteon Dockable Entertainment(the one from Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee)

"Wow, this is so cool!" Ash said excitedly

"I'm glad you like it, I have discovered that there are three new Types." Oak said

"New Types?" Ash repeated

"Yes, they are known as Steel Type, Dark Type, & Fairy Type." Oak informed "I also discovered that Magnemite & Magneton are part Steel Type here in the Kanto Region."

"What about the Fairy Types?" Misty asked

"The only Fairy Types here in Kanto are Clefairy, Clefable, Mr. Mime, & Jigglypuff." Oak said "Togepi is also a Fairy Type."

"Well what do you know?" Misty commented as she looked at Togepi

"Toge Toge." Togepi cooed

"Are there any Dark Types here in Kanto?" Brock asked

"No, but there are Dark Types that live in other regions." Oak said

"Is there anything else we should know about these Types?" Ash asked

"Well, Steel Types are weak against Fire, Fighting, & Ground Types, strong against Rock, Ice, Fairy Types & immune to Poison Type Moves. Dark Types are weak against Bug, Fighting, & Fairy Types, strong against Ghost & Psychic Types, & immune to Psychic Type Moves. & lastly Fairy Types are weak against Steel & Poison Types, strong against the Fighting, Dark, & Dragon Types, & immune to Dragon Type Moves." Oak explained

"Thanks Professor." Ash said

When they arrived at the Swap Meet in Viridian City

"Whoa, look at all the people." Misty said in awe

"They must be all here to trade for new Pokémon." Ash said

"There's a stage over there, you can put it to good use." Brock said

When Ash got on the stage.

"Hello? Excuse me?" Ash said as everyone looked at him

"Hey, my name is Ash & I want everyone to know that I have 29 Tauros available to trade. Any volunteers?" Ash said.

"I want a Tauros!" One trainer said

"Me too!" Another one said

"So do I!" Another said

When Ash went to one of the Trading Machines.

Trainer 1, 2, & 3

"So, what Pokémon do you three have?" Ash asked

The trainers sent out a Magnemite, a Gyarados, & a Psyduck. But the Pokémon looked different because Gyarados was red, Psyduck was light blue with sky blue beak, Magnemite was beige with black on the ends of its magnets.

"Oh my gosh, look at that Psyduck!" Misty said with hearts in her eyes

"Ash, do you know what kind of Pokémon those are?" Brock asked

"What?" Ash said

"They're Shiny Pokémon, Pokémon that have different shiny colors, they are super rare." Brock said

"Really?" Ash beamed

"Yeah, you should trade your Tauros for them. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity." Brock said

"Alright, I'll take them." Ash said in determination.

"Hey, forget Ash's Tauros." Misty said as she pulled out her Psyduck "How about trading it for my Psyduck?"

"That's nice, but I only want a Tauros." Trainer 3 declined

"Oh come on, please?" Misty said

"Leave it alone, Misty." Brock said as he dragged her away

After the trade

"Gyarados knows Flamethrower & Thunderbolt?" Ash said shockingly

"Well some Water Types are capable of learning Electric & Fire Type Moves." Misty pointed out

Trainers 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8

"We're from the Johto Region & we want to trade one of our Pokémon for your Tauros." A trainer named Benny as he & the Trainers each sent out one of their Pokémon

Benny & Trainers sent out a cyan Pokémon with black tail with two eyespots, a pink cat-like Pokémon with a red gem on its forehead, a black cat-fox-like Pokémon with crimson eyes & blue rings on the ends of its ears & tail & on each side of its four legs, a Togepi like Pokémon with wings, & a red metallic insectoid-like Pokémon

"Wobbuffet." The first Pokémon said

"Espeon." The second Pokémon said

"Umbreon." The third Pokémon said

"Togetic." The fourth Pokémon said

"Scizor." The fifth Pokémon

"Who're those Pokémon?" Ash said as he pulled out his Pokédex

Wobbuffet, the Patient Pokémon, Wobbuffet does nothing but endure attacks—it won't attack on its own. However, it won't endure an attack on its tail. When that happens, the Pokémon will try to take the foe with it using Destiny Bond.

Espeon, the Sun Pokémon, & the evolved form of Eevee, It unleashes psychic power from the orb on its forehead. When its power is exhausted, the orb grows dull and dark. Although it originally had no powers at all, people say its precognitive faculties were awakened by its need to protect itself.

Umbreon, the Moonlight Pokémon, & the evolved form of Eevee, Umbreon evolved as a result of exposure to the moon's waves. It hides silently in darkness and waits for its foes to make a move. The rings on its body glow when it leaps to attack.

Togetic, the Happiness Pokémon, & the evolved form of Togepi, Togetic is said to be a Pokémon that brings good fortune. When the Pokémon spots someone who is pure of heart, it is said to appear and share its happiness with that person.

Scizor, the Pincer Pokémon, & the evolved form of Scyther, Scizor has a body with the hardness of steel. It is not easily fazed by ordinary sorts of attacks. This Pokémon flaps its wings to regulate its body temperature.

"So that's what Togepi will evolve into." Misty said

"Umbreon looks different from the one on the Pokédex. Is it shiny?" Ash asked as the trainer nodded

"Alola!" The trainers greeted

"Alola?" Ash repeated confusingly

"It's a greeting we say back in the Alola Region which is our home." Trainer 10 said

"First Johto, now Alola." Brock said in amazement

The trainers sent out an Exeggutor with a long neck & a light blue-gray Meowth.

"What kind of Exeggutor & Meowth are those?!" Misty said shockingly as Ash pulled out his Pokédex

Meowth, The Scratch Cat Pokémon, Alola Form. It's deeply proud and keenly smart, this Pokémon moves with cunning during battle and relentlessly attacks enemies' weak points.

Exeggutor, the Coconut Pokémon, Alola Form, & the evolved form of Exeggcute. This Pokémon's psychic powers aren't as strong as they once were. The head on this Exeggutor's tail scans surrounding areas with weak telepathy.

"Alola form?" Ash repeated

"Back in the Alola region, several Pokémon have a different regional form." Trainer 9 said

"Yeah, & they also have different abilities & Type characteristics." Trainer 10 said

After the trade

Meowth

"A Grass & Dragon Type!?" Brock exclaimed shockingly

"& it knows Flamethrower!?" Misty gasped

"Wow, regional forms are amazing!" Ash said excitedly

Trainer 11 & 12

"We're offering you our Raichu & Persian for 2 of your Tauros." Trainer 12 said

"Oh...Uh..." Ash hesitated

"There's nothing to worry about, Ash." Misty said "Pikachu & Meowzie can learn some things from Raichu & Persian."

"She's right, y'know." Brock said

"In that case, I'll take them." Ash said

A couple of minutes later, Ash had traded the rest of his Tauros except one which he was keeping. Ash had gotten a Porygon, Nidorino, Nidorina, Rhyhorn, Scyther, Arbok, Alakazam, Dragonair, Golem, Pinsir, Poliwhirl, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Clefairy, Vulpix, Machop, & a Kantonian Exeggutor. When the gang left Viridian City.

"Can't believe I got so many awesome Pokémon." Ash said

"Yeah, trading those Tauros was a great idea." Brock said

"I bet Gary's gonna be very jealous when he finds out." Misty said
