You and Thor were thrown through the glass door of the room and out into the hall. One of the shards of glass managed to cut your forehead. You groaned as you moved to sit up. "Y/N? Are you alright?" Thor asked, coming to your side.
He pushed the hair out of your face and noticed the cut. "It's a good thing I'm Asgardian," you stated with a small smile. Thor smiled back, moving his hand from your forehead to your cheek. "Come on, we need to get up," he said, helping you stand. You leaned against him for a moment, and he wrapped his arm tightly around your waist to steady you.
Suddenly, you heard a loud roar, and you and Thor looked at each other. You immediately knew that the Hulk had been released, and you and Thor began walking towards his direction. You and Thor saw the Hulk smashing everything, and you began to fight him.
"Remind you of Asgard?" Thor asked you amidst the fighting. You gave him a small smile and said, "Unfortunately, yes." "Come on, fighting beside me was fun," Thor stated as the Hulk backhanded him, making you laugh. "What wasn't fun was always having to save you," you said, continuing to fight the Hulk.
All of a sudden a plane outside the helicarrier began shooting at the Hulk. Thor quickly pulled you out of the way, holding you close. You and he watched as the Hulk then jumped out of the helicarrier and onto the small plane, before falling down to the ground.
Thor released you after a moment, and you both immediately regretted that decision. "Come on, let's make sure Loki is still secure in his cell," you told Thor. He nodded before following you through the hallways of the helicarrier and into the control room where Loki's cell was located. You and Thor arrived just in time to see Loki escape from the cell.
Adrenaline kicking in, Thor decided to tackle Loki, trying to force him back in the cage, but Loki revealed to Thor that it was just an illusion and Thor was now stuck in the cage. "Are you ever not going to fall for that?" Loki asked Thor as Thor looked over at you.
"The humans think us immortal, should we test that?" Loki said to Thor, hovering his hand over the button that would drop Thor out of the sky. "No, wait, Loki, please," you said taking a step closer. Loki and Thor both focused their attention on you, and soon another voice said, "Move away, please."
You turned around to see Agent Coulson standing there, holding a prototype for one of the Tesseract weapons. Loki moved away from the switch, as Coulson continued to talk. "You like this? We started working on the prototype right after you sent The Destroyer. Even I don't know what it does. Do you wanna find out?" Coulson told Loki.
In the flash of a second, Loki used his illusions to appear right behind Coulson and stabbed him through the heart with the scepter. "No!" you and Thor both screamed at the same time as tears filled your eyes.
Loki dropped Coulson's body before appearing right behind you. He wrapped his hand around your throat and said, "Poor Y/N, why couldn't you have chosen the right brother's side?" "I did. I chose Thor's," you replied. "Feisty, are we? Maybe you need a bit of correction," Loki told you, spitefully as he placed the point of the scepter on your back.
"No! Loki, do not touch her!" Thor yelled, banging his fist on the glass in an attempt to break it. But, instead, the entire cell shifted. "Why do you care so much for poor, sweet, innocent Y/N? She's only your friend. It's not like you love her, right?" Loki taunted, shifting his gaze back to you.
You looked at Thor, and right as he was about to respond to Loki, Loki impaled the scepter through your heart. You gasped as you heard Thor loudly scream at his brother. You watched as tears overflowed Thor's eyes. Loki dropped your body next to Coulson's. You looked over at your friend who was barely alive and grabbed his hand. He gave you a small smile, and you looked back over at Thor.
Thor was looking at you, pain and sadness covering every inch of his face. Loki pushed the button and you had to watch as the Asgardian that you loved, and always will love, fell to the ground. "You're going to lose," Coulson told Loki, gaining his attention.
"Am I?" Loki asked. "It's in your nature," Coulson responded. "Your heroes are scattered, one of them is dying right next to you. Your floating fortress falls from the sky...where is my disadvantage?" Loki replied. "You lack conviction," Coulson told him. "I don't think I...," but before Loki could finish his sentence the prototype gun blasted him away. "So, that's what it does," Coulson stated.
You felt yourself slipping in and out of consciousness as you laid against the wall. After a few more minutes, Fury and a few other agents came in, and although they tried to help you, you refused any help until Coulson was aided.
The agents took Coulson, and after a little bit, some more came and began doing everything they could to save your life. You paid no attention to them, though. Your only concern was your love, Thor, falling to the Earth.
~Thor's Point of View~
I was falling to Earth in a glass cell. That should have been my main concern. But, my mind flashed back to Y/N. My beautiful Y/N. I thought about how Loki stabbed her through the heart, and it was almost too much for me to bear. I saw her face as Loki dropped me from the sky. Her eyes held so much pain and fear. I just wanted to comfort her.
But, more importantly, I saw her face when Loki asked me if I loved her. The answer was yes. The answer had always been yes. I was just too naive and foolish to see it before. But, then she stayed on Midgard, while I returned home. Our home.
And the Bifrost broke, and I truly believed I would never be able to lay eyes on the most beautiful woman in all the realms. Day and night I thought about what I would say if I could see her again. Everything I would do to make it up to her if only the Bifrost was fixed.
And then Loki came to Midgard and I saw her again. But, once I saw her, fear struck me. I have never been afraid. But, looking into her eyes, I was afraid of her reaction if I told her how I really felt. Would she laugh? Would she stop being my friend? And then, I came to the flying fortress she had brought me to, and we shared that moment in the hallway.
That moment where she told me that not only had she fallen in love with me, but that she was still in love with me. I was going to finally admit my feelings to her. I was going to kiss her. I was going to finally be able to make it up to her. Then, the moment was interrupted.
Loki even gave me a chance to tell her how I felt. She looked at me, waiting for me to say something, as hope filled her eyes. And for a moment, I hesitated, not because of the way I felt, but because when I finally admit to my love for Y/N, I want it to be special. Not while I was locked in a cage while my brother is threatening her with his scepter.
It was stupid. I should have just told her. Because in an instant Loki took her from me. So, here I was falling to the ground, but the only thing I can think about is how I should have told her I loved her.
