CHAPTER 8

A slam of an object to a table made me jump. I looked up to see Steve's face filled with frustration.

He took his hand off a Hydra assault rifle. 'Phase 2 is SHIELD uses the cube to make weapons.' He looked to Tony. 'Sorry, the computer was moving a little slow for me.'

Nick tried to explain himself. 'Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we are-

'I'm sorry Nick.' Tony quickly cute in, revealing a weapon design of Fury's. 'What were you lying?'

Steve looked to Fury. 'I was wrong director. This world hasn't changed a bit.'

Thor entered the room with confusion, followed by Natasha.

Banner looked to Natasha, moving from behind his desk, to the front. 'Did you know about this?'

Natasha questioned Banner. 'You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment Doctor?'

Banner chuckled and smiled. 'I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed.'

Natasha walked up to him with a serious expression. 'Loki's manipulating you.'

Banner frowned. 'And you've been doing what exactly?'

'You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you.' Natasha stated.

'Yes, and I'm not leaving just because suddenly you get a little twitchy.' Banner painted to the weapon design on the screen. 'I wanna know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction.'

Nick pointed at Thor. 'Because of him.'

Thor was taken aback raising his eyebrows. 'Me?'

Nick began to explain, slowly walking around to everyone while doing so. 'Last year, earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that levelled a small town. We learned that, not only are we alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned.'

Thor spoke for Asgard. 'My people want nothing but peace with your planet.'

Nick stepped slowly towards Thor. 'But you're not the only people our there, are you? And you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled.'

'Like you control the cube?' Steve threw in.

Thor looked at Fury, slowly approaching him. 'You're work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies. It is a signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war.'

Steve questioned. 'A higher form?'

Nick explained. 'You forced our hand. We had to come up with some-

'Nuclear deterrent.' Tony quickly cut in. 'Cause that always calms everything right down.'

I had no comment or part in this argument. I had no idea what was even happening with all this war and weapons topic, so I just let the scene unfolded, moving my head and eyes to whoever spoke at the time.

Nick turned around to meet Tony. 'Remind me again how you made your fortune Stark?'

Steve added. 'I'm sure if he still made weapons Stark would be neck-deep-

'Wait, wait! Hold on! How is this now about me?' Tony cut in. He was good at this interrupting peoples sentences thing.

'I'm sorry. Isn't everything?' Steve replied.

Thor commented. 'I thought humans were more evolved than this.'

Nick turned to see Thor, offended by his comment. 'Excuse me! Did we come to your planet and blow stuff up?'

'Did you always give your champions such mistrust.' Thor's voice was rising with anger.

The room started to turn into a chaotic mess. Everyone began arguing with each other. I could make out a few words here and there but their voices became muffled as they all argued at once.

I notice the blue stone on the gold sceptre start glowing brighter, feeling the need to stop the chaos.

'HEY!' I stood up and yelled. Gaining everyone's attention, the room calmed to a degree. 'Are you all hearing yourselves?'

Nick explained. 'Rosalie, I get you may want to be a part if this, but you have no business here. You should be in your room where you keeps your hands off my stuff.'

I knew Fury was referring to my chat with Loki.

Anger rose to the surface, my voice raised a couple of notches. 'I have slept for over eleven thousands years and you know that. I deserve to find out about my past that I have no clue about, even if that means stepping on dangerous grounds that aren't mine. I deserve to ask questions to anyone to find answers myself.'

Shock was plastered amongst everyone's faces.

Tony spoke up. 'I can confirm that. And I agree that she should be able to ask questions.' He looked at Nick to direct his opinion.

Nick turned to Tony. 'You have no idea what's going on.'

Tony exposed his palms. 'What? Am I not allowed to give an opinion?'

Nick turned to both tony and I. 'Don't approve of both of your opinions.'

Tears started to fill my eyes. I couldn't take it with what I was living with. I raced out of the room, hearing Thor say something along the lines of 'you speak of control, yet you court chaos.' I assumed he had directed that to Fury.

I began to run down any hallway, my pounding footsteps echoed. Tears severely impaired my vision, blurring my sight.

I continued running, but I suddenly stumbled with weakness. I landed on my hands and knees, the tears continuously running down my face and landing on the metal floor.

I heard my guards catch up as I sobbed loudly, echoing down both ways of the hallway. Tears flowed down my cheeks like a waterfall, making them damp.

I couldn't control the wailing.

To live with no memory made me feel like a ghost with nothing to solidify the soul and give them a personality and life.

I felt empty.

Needing to discover my past and being left with a possibility that I may not even fulfil that crushed my heart.

My shoulders quickly rose and fell with every loud sob, gasping for air as my lungs desired.

As my sobs softened, I lowered my head to the ground, resting my forehead against the cool metal. Tears still rapidly fell, but my gasps and sobs weren't so frequent and loud.

I calmed down enough to stand once more. I gave myself a boost by pushing off one knee.

I found my way to my room and refugee to the bed, laying down and sharing closely at the wall. Years occasionally fell, escaping the corners of my eyes and sliding down my nose or cheek, hitting the pillow with a small thud.

A single tear fell and landed on the soft pillow. The small thud was heard.

A sudden blow sounded in the distance. The room shook as the mug and jug vibrated and clattered against the metal surface.

I sniffled, sitting up as worry crept to the surface.

I wiped all the damp tear stains from my face. I slowly slid from the aide of the bed. As I made my way to the door, I pressed the button to open it. I looked to my left and right, deciding to walk down the right and wherever my feet led me.

As I crept down hallways I seemed to near the chaos. I heard smashing, alarms, running, and yelling.

I kept turning right, left, left, right. I turned every which way I thought was getting me closer to knowing what was going on. The sounds were getting louder and I occasionally herd monstrous yelling. Gun shots were fired at the occasion too. I turned around behind me, noticing my guards had lost me or told to perform their duty elsewhere.

My palms began to sweat and fear was well settled in. I eventually made it to a door that I opened.

It was the detention centre.

In the cell, Loki was replaced with Thor.

I frowned at the sight, wondering were Loki was.

Thor and I turned to my right as we heard his voice. 'Are you ever not going to fall for that?'

Loki had clearly drawn Thor into the cell and shut the door on him as he stood at the operating area, facing Thor.

In a fit of anger, Thor threw his hammer to the glass, cracking it a little. The room shook and for a moment Loki stood, holding his hands out in balance and uncertainty. His guarding solider had a look of worry.

After the room was stable, Loki gave his large grin and chuckled.

He walked over to the control panel, his hand hovering over the red button as he explained. 'The humans think us immortal. Should we test that?'

Coulson had quietly entered the detention room behind me, signalling me to remain quiet as he approached Loki's solider with his bulky gun like weapon.

The solider groaned and suddenly dropped to the ground with a thud. Coulson had knocked him over the head with his weapon as he stood behind him.

He pointed it at Loki. 'Move away please.'

Loki paused in his tracks of pressing the button. He slowly stepped away from the control panel, maintaining the position he had his hands in.

Coulson walked towards Loki and threatened him. 'You like this? We started working on the prototype after you sent the destroyer. Even I don't know what it does.' He started the weapon, glowing as it prepared to fire. 'Do you wanna find out?'

At that moment, Coulson gasped as Loki thrust his sceptre into his chest. With a slush, he removed it from Coulson's body. He landed against the wall and slumped down in weakness. He started breathing heavily as he looked over to Loki's illusion of himself which disappeared.

I let out a high pitched squeak in disbelief and hurt that someone had just killed an innocent person in front of me. I covered my mouth with a hand in shock as I was lightly gasping.

Clearly the real Loki had conjured illusions of himself in order to collect his sceptre. While he did that, Thor and I were in the detention room with a Loki who didn't even exist.

Thor exclaimed. 'Nooo!'

He slammed a fist against the glass.

Loki walked over to the control panel and lifted a lid, exposing buttons underneath. He pressed a button, opening the hatch underneath Thor as wind blasted through, aggressively blowing my dress and hair behind me.

Thor stepped backwards in disbelief of his brothers actions, knowing what he was about to do next.

Loki moved his hand to hover about another button. He looked over to Thor as he pressed the button and sent him down the hatch, falling to earth's ground.

I ran to the edge of the railing, grasping it tightly and leaning over. I watched Thor tumble around in the cage as he struggled. Anger bubbled to the surface as I gripped the metal tighter. I couldn't believe Loki was killing innocent lives without a single sign of remorse.

The hatch closed and I looked over to Loki walking away.

Coulson gathered his bravery and strength in his muscles. 'You'll lose.'

Loki stopped walking and turned to face the dying Coulson. 'Am I?'

Coulson explained. 'It's in your nature.'

'Your heroes are scattered, your floating fortress falls from the sky... where is my disadvantage?' Loki frowned, knowing he was winning.

Hearing heroes, I frowned as well. Who where our heroes?

Coulson replied to Loki. 'You lack conviction.'

The tone in Loki's voice contained anger. 'I don't think I-

A blast of fire came from Coulson's new weapon. It strongly hit Loki in the chest and sent him through the wall.

Coulson confirmed. 'So that's what it does.'

I ran over to him, tears in my eyes and anger running through my veins.

I knew Coulson wouldn't make it, but I needed to give him encouragement. 'Stay with us Coulson. I know we have hardly talked and barely know each other, but everyone needs you. Just stay with us.'

I looked over to were Loki was thrown off his feet. He was slowly rising as two soldiers came to his assistance.

I stood up and charged towards Loki. His guards approached me. I outstretched a clenched fist and threw it at the face of the guard to my left. With a kick in the gut, he became unbalanced and fell. The second guard went to punch me. I grabbed his fist and bent his arm backwards as I walked behind him and further twisted it. I pushed him to the ground with a thud.

With both guards on the ground, it gave me enough time to charge at Loki who was escaping.

I ran with all power and jumped on Loki's back. He became a little unbalanced but managed to stand stable. I wrapped an arm around his neck, keeping it tight. With my left arm, I grabbed my right wrist and pulled my arm towards me.

Loki was beginning to choke under my grip. However, he turned to our left and backed me up into the wall. With strong force, my back and head hit the wall, pain shooting through me. As my body weakened a little, Loki took the opportunity and ripped my arms from his neck.

I lost balance as Loki stepped forwards. I unravelled my legs from him and landed on my behind.

Loki turned to face me. With a strong hand, he grabbed my neck and lifted me to stand. My airway was cut and I struggled for oxygen. My lungs strongly desired for the air it needed.

Loki brought the tip of his sceptre to my chest. The blue stone glowed brighter and the sceptre radiated a charge up sound. My shoulders moved inwards as my heart and blood turned cold and my mind became blank. My vision went black, and a second later, it changed to a light blue. Everything I looked at was blue.

Loki stood in front of me. He had an unsure look to his eyes, but after I relaxed, so did he. As he walked away my body instantly followed his direction, as if it was an instinct. Like a dog following their master wherever they went.

I heard foot steps behind us. I turned to see who they were, prepared to attack. They were two guards who were following us, but a voice in my mind told me they were no threat to defend.

We walked to the runways of the helicarrier. We made our way to a large jet that had its back open.

We climbed into it, the door closing as the last person entered. Before we even sat down, the jet started moving. As the two guards took their seats, I sat opposite Loki who looked down at the descending helicarrier.

The door shut with a click, darkening the area. I was staring at Loki, waiting for my next instruction's.
