CHAPTER 19

That sword was beyond familiar. It looked exactly like the one I saw in the museum. The name however, claimed to be Rosalie, though that was what told me it couldn't be true. It wasn't true. Although, after all this time, how could I not remember that my name came from that sword and I had been associated with it? How could I have not gone to retrieve what was claimed as mine?

I guess my mind was so set on finding my past that I forgot all about it. The events that distracted my mind was almost like a curse that stopped me from reaching what I trying to find and know. I won't give up though. Nothing is going to stop me.

That didn't matter now though. I had seen the sword in that history book which would not lie. That exact sword looked too similar to that of the one in the museum, but the book claimed that it had been destroyed in the battle. Though they hadn't found it or seen a reason as to how it should be destroyed with the durability that the sword maintained.

The one on earth could very much so be it. That could be the answer to the mystery. It somehow ended up in earth where no one was make to lift it till many years later when they built a special machine to lift it from the rock, even then it was a struggle.

It was too similar. Though there were some things that didn't match up, but how could it be that similar. Anything was worth a try to see whether this was it or not. It was a chance, and as I said to Eir, I'm willing to take any possibility there was.

I new it would be impossible to sleep after my mind started to race with such thoughts. Though I did try to get some sleep. However long it was, I gained enough to not be tired.

I practically jumped out of bed and changes into a new outfit. It was a basic light brown dress. I scoffed down breakfast which was eggs and some fruit. I raced back into my bedroom and immediately got stuck into reading the last book of the pile.

After I finished reading it, I would return all books and head to my new destination.

I was grateful that the last book was incredibly useful. It touched on the details of the Titan invasion.

The Titan's had killed many Asgardians as a way to rule over Asgard. Some survived and took refuge in a place amongst the nature on Asgard. This had inspired them to build a place where, if in any sort of was, all Asgardians can remain safe and hidden.

The Royal family, which consisted of the King Njord and Queen Sigrid, and their two twin children, Prince Freyr and Princess Freyja, were in the throne hall when fire set alight to the room after some Titan's killed off the guards. The fire took the lives of all royal family and their special weapons were destroyed or damaged within the fire.

Gold was not entirely abundant, so the palace was made of the same limestone that was currently everywhere amongst Asgard's city. So, the home of the Royal family took alight well.

It wasn't a large book, so it fortunately didn't take too much of my time. Once the back cover was closed, I gathered the rest of the history books and started making my way to the library.

When I for there, the librarian happily returned all books.

He smiled after he slid the last book in its place on the shelf. 'So, were they of much use or interest?'

I smiled back. 'Very much so. I discovered many things from those books. You most certainly chose well for me. I hadn't even known that I wanted specific information amongst his ebooks until a few days ago.'

The librarian raised his eyebrows. 'Well I guess that was quite the choice.'

I folded my hands together. 'Yes, and now I will keep that information with me and hopefully discover new things with it.'

'Like what?' The librarian had thrown a question at me that I had not thought of before.

I replied quizzically. 'I'm not quite sure actually.'

The librarian have a slight frown in confusion.

I stood straight. 'I will found that out soon I suppose. I must be on my way now. Farewell...'

I stuck a hand out and frowned in question of his name.

He understood my expression. 'Oscar. I hear you are Rosalie, correct?'

I smiled as he took my hand and shook it. 'Indeed it is. Farewell Oscar.'

Oscar smiled back. I turned to depart the library and start the long journey down the rainbow bridge.

As i walked along the bridge, my mind was flooded with thoughts. I wondered whether this sword was actually mine, even though it claimed to be, it wasn't certain. If this sword was mine, that meant I was worthy. If I could wield this sword, then how does the name in the history book match up to my own? What might this sword bring if I do wield it? Would it be another let down of my discovery?

No, it wouldn't. I couldn't think that way. If I could wield the sword and it bright nothing to me, then the connection between me and the history book gives me something more in my past then what I had before, and that was something I was truly grateful for.

Yes, more discovery is better, but what I had was good. What I had brought me more certainty of my past than anything else that has come about, and what's better, I had out all the pieces together myself. Most things that had lead to my discovery or possibility of what my past was, was because of the ideas I had. It was mostly my doing that was leading me to find out the crucial information. I didn't really need anyone's help, and that felt accomplishing that I could do something so great on my own.

Time passed by quickly as I reached the end of the bridge. Heimdall stood, guarding the Bifrost as usual.

I smiled as he turned around at the sound of my footsteps.

I couldn't hold back my excitement. 'I've found out so much lately. I just can't comprehend it. It's all so amazing. Like have a link. It may not be confirmed is strong but its there and now I'm willing to go to Midgard and secure this link or break it.'

Heimdall looked a little confused. 'Might I ask what thus link is?'

I folded my hands in front of me. 'I think I might keel it to myself until I get back, but knowing you Heimdall, you will probably find out before anyone else.'

We both gave a small laugh as we knew I was right.

I walked towards the exit of the Bifrost as I prepared my departure.

I looked to the ground and then back at Heimdall. 'Well, I guess this is farewell. I won't be long.'

Heimdall nodded and pushed his sword further in its place. The cogs started to turn as the Bifrost moved towards the direction of my destination and started spinning. I gave a small and excited wave wish me luck and turned to face the exit.

The Bifrost was ready. I stepped into the rainbow tunnel and started flying uncontrollably to Midgard. I landed on my feet and instantly examined my surroundings as the rainbow disappeared.

I was night and I stood in front of the museum where I first met Shelly. I guess Heimdall knew where I wanted to go. He probably saw me gave the sword in the history book a second glance.

All that was left to do was go inside that museum and retrieve that sword if possible.

I raced to nearby bushes to be hidden from view. I was going to plan it all before I screwed up my only chance.

I thought hard. What if people were inside? They shouldn't be providing it is nighttime. Good thing I left Asgard when I did otherwise I wouldn't be able to do this. I guess Asgard measured there days in 12 hours rather than 24 like Midgard.

I had to focus. Going around the sides and smashing through the big glass windows was a decent idea. Then I could be closer to the sword, smash it's glass casing and hopefully be able to lift it.

I tried to think of other alternatives to that plan, but nine seemed wiser. It was going to be noisy and people would probably start to hunt me down, but it was quicker.

I stood from the bushes and crept to the wall where no glass windows were currently visible. I new the cameras area would be able to see me, and I had to be quick. I jogged around all sides and peaked through all windows to see what was inside. I eventually found the room I was looking for.

I searched my surroundings in hope for a thick enough stick or a rock. I saw the perfectly lined garden edge. The rocks seemed quite large, however it was worth I trying. I walked over to the garden that sat against the tall fence. I bent down and attempted to lift the rock, expecting it to be almost too heavy.

With some ease, I lifted the rock. If I were a human, I probably wouldn't be able to lift it. With the rock in hand, I stood at the glass window and prepared to smash it. I lifted the rock above my shoulder and plunged it at the window.

The glass shattered and sent shards flying in all directions. In the moonlight, it looked like glitter.

I raced through the broken glass as it crunched beneath my golden shoes. I collected the rock and ran past the place where I slept for thousands of years, the place where I first woke up.

I reached the glass casing that held "my" sword. Loud whooping sirens had already sounded throughout the museum, so I needed to be snappy. It felt weird to be back in the place where it all began.

I lifted the rock a little higher then my waist, making sure the gravity didn't take it too much and potentially damaged the sword too. I brought it down on the glass and only cracked it. I lifted the rock a little higher this time and smashed the glass to pieces.

The sword was exposed with no barrier to protect it. I reached to grip the handle of the sword, but a hand on my shoulder made me jump.

I turned to see a security guard. He used all his force to try and push me to the ground but being immortal, I was stronger than he.

I bent my elbow and sent it into his chest. I grabbed his shoulders and pushed him to the ground with ease. Policemen had rolled in at this time and now I had to fight off six more distractions.

The first officer got a lunch in the nose and a trip with the legs. The second put up a fight, so I had to try and pry his arm off my own. I grabbed the hand that gripped my arm and swung the officer in two circles and pried his fingers away and sent him to the other side of the room. The next officer bouldered me over as I turned around to face the next one. He had me on the ground. I rolled him to the side as he had both my hands seized and ready to be cuffed. I brought my leg up to kick an oncoming officer in the gut. He hauled over in such pain at my string blow. As I rolled around with the officer on the ground, the glass shards poked my back and arms in a painful manner. Occasionally I would wrinkle my nose in pain.

The last officer came to pin me down but I kicked him in the shin and in the groin. These officers seemed rather weak, or I was just strong. This annoying officer had me pinned down enough to restrict my hands with the cuffs he had ready.

I tried to think smart and used both hands to punch the guy in the face. He dodged it and left me to try and squirm out from underneath him. He sat on my legs. I almost felt defeated, but couldn't let one officer defeat me when I had taken down five others.

I let my hands be cuffed and let my body relax as a sign I had been defeated. I stood up with the officer and moved a few steps as I started walking with him. I yanked my arm from his grip. I pulled against the cuffs and broke the chain that held the two together. I bolted for the sword pushing down an officer on my way.

I finally reached the sword and wrapped my fingers around the gold grip.

I attempted to rip the sword from the stone, but it didn't budge. I turned to take a glance at the officers. They were getting up slowly and started to watch me.

I tried again with the sword. This time it felt light. It slide effortlessly from the slit it made in the stone, making a shing sound as it left the rock. I easily lifted it into the air above me, showing that I had lifted this impossible sword.

I smiled brightly and held it in both hands. It was roughly the height of my shoulders if I was to measure it against my body. I tried to examine every inch of the sword, but it seemed to glow and blinded my view. The glow became brighter, so much so that I had to turn away from its warm light. I squinted to further shield my eyes as I felt the glow intensify.

When I felt the warmth weaken I turned to face the sword again.
