CHAPTER 11

No one in the room wanted to hear a word from Loki, especially not something such as that.

The green guy growled at his words, expressing his disapproval.

Natasha looked over to me, titling her head and observing my expression. She had a sort if curious and concerned look to her. I knew she was questioning whether I was still under the control of Loki.

I needed to reassure her that I wasn't, so I stood and left Loki to be in his own. I stood next to Tony who was on the end, turning to look down at Loki.

Natasha was on the other end if the group, holding the golden scepter that contained the mind stone. The bow man was in the centre at the front if the group, holding his bow in front of him, strung pulled back and aimed at Loki. The green monster stood at the back, anger clear in his expression. Steve and Thor stood either side of bow man. Thor to the left and looking down upon his brother with disapproval, holding his hammer like always. Steve had his serious face as usual.

I was glad to reunite with them.

However, that moment of standing with them was cut short when Tony broke the intense stare. 'Alright, game on it Steve. Now stand around posing up a storm later.' He began walking away. 'By the way, feel free to clean up.'

The avengers all dispersed, bow man headed to the bar for a drink as Natasha partly followed him.

She tapped the scepter in her hand. 'Who gets the uh, magic wand?'

Steve replied to Natasha. 'Strike team's coming to secure it.'

At that moment the elevator doors opened, revealing a group of people all dressed in black.

A bald man walked up to Natasha and took it from her. 'We can take that off your hands.'

'By all means.' Natasha handed it over and turned to grab a drink from the bar, bow man already doing so. 'Be careful with that thing.'

'Yeah, unless you want your mind erased. And not in a fun way.' Bow man added, handing Natasha a glass of water.

Another man took the scepter from the bald guy, placing it in a long case that appeared to be built for it, fit into it like a glove. 'We promise to be careful.'

The case was locked shut as Steve walked past them heading for the elevator. Thor had lifted Loki from the ground and chained his hands. They gathered to the side with the green monster, ready for their next step.

Steve announced. 'On my way down to coordinate search and rescue.'

With a swish of green, Loki shifted to become an exact replica of Steve.

Loki mocked him. 'On my way down to coordinate search and rescue.' He turned back into himself and faced Thor. 'I mean honestly, how do you keep your food down.'

Thor became annoyed with Loki and pulled something from behind him, flicking his wrist and lifting a hand to his brothers mouth.

He dropped his hand and left a muzzle to cover Loki's mouth. 'Shut up!'

After the Tesseract and Scepter were safely secure in their silver cases, we all headed for the elevator.

As we all piled in and squished together, the green monster attempted to enter, but as Tony placed the case in the floor and sat upon it, he looked up and held a hand out.

Thor did the same, standing. 'Woah! Woah, woah, woah!'

Tony explained. 'Hey! Hey! Buddy, what do you think? Maximum occupancy had been reached.'

Thor suggested. 'Take the stairs.'

'Yeah.' Tony agreed.

As the elevator doors were closing, the green guy became angered and balled his fists.

Tony knew what was about to happen. 'Stop! Stop!'

The doors shut as the green guy lifted a fist and punched it with ferocity. A dent was left where he had created such impact.

We started descending to the first level. I took a moment to observe my surroundings. Loki was in the middle as Tony sat on his case at the front to the left. Thor was at his right while I stood to the back with the team that took some "evidence" as the bald guy explained to someone on the phone.

Natasha and the bow buy had gone with Steve when they first took the elevator.

We reached ground floor and exited the elevator. As we walked our way to the front doors, another team showed up to stop us.

An older guy with blonde hair wore a professional suit that indicated he was of authority.

He called to Tony. 'May I ask you where you're going?'

Thor instantly replied. 'Lunch then Asgard.' He looked to the leading guy. 'I'm sorry. You are now-

Tony lent in to Thor, explaining. 'Alexander Pierce. The man above the folks behind Nick Fury.'

Pierce turned to Thor. 'All my friends call me Mr. Secretary. In gonna have to ask for you to turn that prisoner over .'

'Loki will be answering Odin himself.' Thor objected.

I wanted to stay out of the whole situation and not be nosy, so I decided to turn around and walk a fair distance away. I wanted to know what was happening without hearing.

I walked to the wall on my left, leaning against it with my right shoulder and observing my surroundings. As I took a quick glance at everyone first, I notched Loki looking at me. He looked to Pierce when he noticed that I began to stare.

I wasn't going to be the one who looked away. I continued to stare and observe Loki. I wondered whether he would, or could, change and become a better citizen. If he could, then what or  who was capable of doing such a thing.

I shook the thoughts from my mind as I couldn't focus on him in anyway at all. Currently, I was searching for answers in my own life, not someone else's.

My past remained a blur. I hadn't gained any further knowledge about it since the day I awoke in Midgard. This battle that had occurred certainly put a hold on my discovery, that's for sure.

Chaos erupted to my left as Pierce and his team, and Thor and Tony fought to keep the Tesseract with them. Their hands grasped each other like children fighting over a toy.

A door was busted from its hinges and thrown across the room in a quick instant as the green monster showed up from the stair journey. He was a good distance in front of me that allowed safety from his raging anger as he screamed at people with frustration, assuming from walking down the many stairs. He punched the wall as people ran from him in fright.

After the children stopped fighting over their toy, it seemed Tony had one and the green monster headed our way, thankfully less frustrated.

I reunited with Tony as we headed out the door, and as Thor said to Pierce, we were headed for lunch, but first Loki was forced in place. Thor had rested his hammer on Loki's chest after laying him down on a bench, saying about doing something familiar back in Asgard. I had told the group that I wasn't hungry and let them eat their Shawarma. So, I was trusted to watch over Loki and ensure he didn't show any sketchy behaviour.

Before the rest had gotten to the shop, Banner had calmed and changed back to his human form. I learnt that he was called "Hulk" when he was green, and I much preferred to give that form an actual name rather than just "green guy". The man with the bow and arrows was Hawkeye, I had learnt, his real name Clint Barton. After about forty minutes they returned.

'Don't know about you folks but I'd like to clean up and change into something more comfortable.' Natasha implied she was going to leave to do so, Barton, Tony, Steve, and I agreeing at her remark.

Banner decided to join them to get Selvig as he cleaned up and collected a few items to do with the Tesseract, leaving Thor to guard Loki.

I was satisfied with a public bathroom instead of a home, only needing a quick fix up. Tony and the rest went to his tower to have a clean up there. As I entered the ladies bathroom and stood in front the large wall length mirror, I observed my state.

My hair was greatly ruffled, screaming to be brushed. I ran my fingers through it, catching knots and tugging gently at them. They loosened, and with a final tug, untangled and returned to its neat state. The top part if my hair had been held down by the plaited crown, allowing for a neater result. I dampened my fingers with the water and patted down a few strands to neaten them. I brought down wisps of hair to hang about my ears, flying then together with a quick dampen if water. As I patted down the rest of my with water, it returned to a neater, more appealing state.

Grime had covered my dress and face. I cupped my hands underneath the running water, pooling it before splashing it on my face. The water picked up the dust and dirt from my skin and sent it into the basin and down the drain. I cupped my hands and gathered water once again, splashing it across my face and rubbing the dirt off. I had small scratches in my face from the glass, blood dotted around it. I paid more attention go the scratches that were present on my face and arms, washing away the dry blood and cleaning the wound. I washed down my arms as well, scrubbing the grime from my skin. My dress had a quick dust off and water was applied to the dirtiest places to remove the majority if the dust.

Once I was satisfied with my more appealing appearance, I had a final check over. My shoes had been torched by the fire that touched my feet, now blackened and destroyed. My dress certainly needed a wash but I cleaned it as best as I could. My skin felt much cleaner and my hair looked more like it had when I styled it.

After I finalised my check over, I gathered a few paper sheets used to dry one's hands. I dried my skin where it had been washes and dabbed my dress where it was most damp.

I then walked out of the facility, thankful that no one had surprisingly showed up when I was occupying it. As I reunited with Thor and Loki, I was left with nothing to do. I didn't have to be bored for long as the others returned in vehicles and on a motorbike. Steve rode the old-fashioned motorbike while Natasha and Barton, and Tony were in separate cars. Natasha, Barton, and Steve were in more casual clothes, while Tony wore a suit, less casual and more formal like. Banner and Selvig showed up in a van, opening the back to reveal a travel lab that contained science equipment.

We had gathered in my most calming place, Central Park. We were at the fountain area I visited often, gathering to the balcony that overlooked the angel water feature.

Tony had the Tesseract in his case, opening it while Banner used special tongs, specifically made to handle the cube without harm. Selvig had taken a clear tube with two handles at its ends. Banner lifted the Tesseract into the tube, handling it with care. It was closed and handed to Thor. Loki was already standing at the circle in the centre of the balcony, waiting as Thor said his goodbye's to mainly Selvig as he took the Tesseract from him.

I was standing near Natasha and Barton, as she turned and whispered something to him, leaving a smirk on his face as he stared at Loki with his sunglasses. Thor then walked to Loki and held out the tube that contained the Tesseract. Loki took the other handle as Thor looked to his friends and nodded to us all in saying farewell.

I realised it was a perfect opportunity to take.

'Wait!' I called to Thor, who dropped his smile in concern when I announced the pause.

He frowned in question. 'Is something wrong?'

I walked up to Thor. 'What is Asgard like?'

Thor smiled with joy. 'It is a beautiful place.' He frowned as he looked me up and down. 'Why do you ask, it seems you've already been there?'

I gave a side smile at his response and question. 'I wouldn't know, I have no memory of my past and wish to discover it.' I paused and thought for a moment, looking away as I did so. 'What if I wanted to go to Asgard?' I looked up at Thor.

'Call Heimdall and he will send you.' Thor answered in a simple manner.

I smiled at his answer, satisfied. I stepped backwards and allowed space as Loki twisted the handle, knowing it was time for their departure now.

A blue glow like the cube itself swirled around the two. They shot upwards and disappeared as they were transported to their home. To Asgard.

Once they left, Natasha turned to me. 'I will need to take you back to S.H.E.I.L.D in precaution of your memory. Fury requires to keep you for a few days and be sure that you are no longer under the control of Loki.'

I scoffed. 'But I plead you I am not.'

Natasha titled her head to the side. 'I can tell, but it is only safe to take precautions.'

I agreed with the nod of my head, letting Natasha take the lead.

Natasha grabbed a bag of belongings from the back of the car that she and Barton arrived in, gladly handing it to Banner. I assumed it was his things from when we were expected to stay in the helicarrier for a while.

I clambered into the back of the car that belonged to S.H.E.I.L.D, with its logo and identification number on it's rear end. Steve had gotten back on his old-fashioned motorbike and rode off. Banner joined Tony in his fancy car as they sped off.

After Barton and Natasha climed in, we were last to depart the area. I watched the fountain get further away and saw Central Park's sites whizz past me, hoping to be back soon providing nothing got in my way once again.
