Phils POV:

"So... what do you want to do?" I asked Dan nervously, he was looking around my room. Standing in one spot and sweeping his head left and right.
"Your mum" Dan said and winked at me. I playfully hit his arm and he smirked at me. "Let's just play some games you spork" he chuckled.
"Spork?" I narrowed my eyes at him but soon broke Into a smile.
We spent the night on games, mainly playing sonic, and as the night came to a close it was obvious neither of us wanted it to end. Dan hoovered by the door. We talked in hushed tones as my mum had recently come back from work.
"Tonight was fun" he told me and smiled brightly
"That it was" I replied "you should come round more often"
"That's an awesome idea!" He nearly yelled over excitedly "how's tomorrow?"
"Absolutely!" I told him and he smiled widley at me "see ya at school then"
"See ya at school" he replied. Then he left.

I saw Dan at school the next day but he wasn't very talkative. I guess his break up hit him hard.
Oli joined us at dinner time, he ran up to me and looked like he was about to burst. As he reached us, sitting on the bench outside (which was much quieter than the dinner hall) he almost yelled at me
"Guess what!?"
"What?" I questioned cautiously.
"you're no fun" he joked "anyways. Tonight is the fault in our stars premiere!" He finished.
"That's awesome! I didn't know it was out so soon" I enthused with a smile. But I felt felt a pang of guilt at the same time.
"it's the extended version and you get a special q n a as well as a limited edition poster how awesome!" He kept on and then took a big breath "you wanna go tonight?"
"I'd love to but I sort of promised Dan-" I started but was swiftly interrupted
"it's fine Phil" Dan told me "we can always hang out another night. This is the premiere, no way are you letting John green down"
"Thanks Dan" I spoke a little unsure before I turned to Oli "yeah I'll go"
"Ahh yays!" He fist bumped the air. The bell then rang and Olis grin was stripped off his face "shit miss. Jackson will kill me if I'm late again!" He said "text you later"
I watched him bolt away a little amused as me and Dan casually stood up.
"Sorry about that" I told him
"No problem mate. Another day for chilling?" he asked hopefully.
I could swear I saw his eyes water over slightly, although it could've been from the cold.
"Definitely"

Oli was due to pick me up at any minute. I stared at myself in the large mirror and tried to fix one bit of hair that just wouldn't go into place. I sighed deeply and gave up, I couldn't possibly make myself look perfect so I just had to go with decent looking. I was wearing my favourite shirt, a red flannel one, and black skinny jeans.
'I look okay' I kept repeating in my head.
I jumped slightly when I heard the door bell ring, I quickly checked my pocket for my wallet and walked out. Locking the door behind me.
"All ready?" He asked me and I nodded. We walked down the path and he opened up the back door of a Ford Focus to let me in first.
"Thanks" I said and belted myself in.
"Hi darling" his mum said from upfront
"Hi" I replied, trying to hide my nerves with a cheery voice.
"Are you excited for the film?"
"Very! I've been looking forward to it for ages" I said and suddenly felt conscious as maybe I was speaking too much
"Well John green is great at literature"
"You can say that again" oli chimed in and then whispered to me "sorry, she's very talkative"
I put my hand up to stop him
"It's no problem" I told him because really it wasn't. She was quite easy to talk to, unlike some parents.

We got to the cinemas and said a goodbye to his mum. We walked through the automatic doors and to the ticket counter, where I pulled out my wallet. Oli went up first and then turned around to hand me the ticket.
"My treat" he winked, I was about to protest when he kept talking "it's fine. I have more than enough money. So let's go get food" at this point it was feeling overly like a date and my nerves kicked in.
Once again he paid for the food, the largest popcorn to share, and despite my protests he just continued to smile and say it's fine.
"Thanks for this" I told him as we got into the overcrowded cinema.
"it's my pleasure" he replied as the adverts before the film started rolling.

Before the film started John green introduced it and at that very same time a nerdy girl next to me started crying. I registered her immediately as a fan girl and tried to hold back chuckles. Oli saw her too and we exchanged looks.
The film was pretty amazing. Funny and sad. By the end of it both me and oli were teary eyed and the fan girl shared her pack of tissues with us, which I was thankful for.
During it nothing date like happened, we didn't reach for the popcorn at the same time or intensely make out when it got dark. It was like going to the cinemas with anyone else.
So why was I feeling butterflies?

We waited in the sitting area for a bit whilst we waited for his mum and just talked about the film.
"Who was your favourite character?" He asked me "I loved gus!"
"Gus is alright..." I began and oli arched an eyebrow up at me "but issac is amazing" I finished and he nodded his head in agreement.
"Almost as amazing as you" he winked at me and I could feel my face heat up. Before I knew what was happening Oli was leaning in and so was I. The kiss was soft but great all the same. It wasn't my first but it was better than my first had been. It was with some blonde girl when we were both 4. We broke apart all grinny and blushing.
Before either of us could speak olis phone vibrated and he held up the text to me.
"Mums here" he told me and we stood up. As we did oli slipped his hand in mine and rubbed the back of my hand gently. I smiled up at him.
His mum didn't seem to mind us holding hands which was nice, I just saw her smiling from the mirror. I smiled back though she didn't really see.
When we arrived at mine oli got out and walked up to my door with me. His hand never leaving mine even when we got to the door. He spun me around so we were facing each other and clutched my hands softly.
"Phil... I-I know we haven't known each other for long" he began "but I can't wait to get to know you, you don't have to say yes if you don't want to but..." he took a deep breath "will you be my boyfriend?"
The questioned took me back for a second and I had to let it replay in my head to be sure I had heard it right.
"Yes" I chocked out with a smile.
