Dans pov:

"So start on Monday? You can collect your uniform after the shift" the manager gruffly told me. He was a bald man with a bushy beard that matched his eyebrows, but he was actually a nice guy. He had given me a job despite having no experience because he doesn't 'see many young people who are enthusiastic about retail'. To be honest I wasn't enthusiastic about it but it never hurts to lie and I needed the money the job gave. Every other job I had tried for had declined me or not even replied. 

"That sounds great, thank you. See you then" I told him and made my way out of the building, pulling my hood up as the rain began to pour down. Without even thinking I pulled my phone out and hit Phils contact so I could tell him about the good news
"Hey buddy!" I smiled as his voice sounded on the other end, even though my signal was bad his voice still made my heart skip a beat. I hoped this feeling would die off soon.
"Buddy?"  he questioned 
"Yes buddy, I'll demote you to just hey if you carry on" I warned him as I began to walk down the road 
"I'd prefer just hey"
"ugh fine" I mock complained 
"so what's up buddy?" He said with a slight smile in his voice, I could imagine his eyebrow raised and a smirk on his face as he repeated the name I had called him. 
"You aren't the only one with a job now!" I told him. It was November now and Phil had had a job since college started in September, it was at a local shop. He complained often about the customers but the money was good and the hours fit in perfectly around college.  
"No way! Where?" 
"At Homebase" I said proudly, happy with myself for aceing the interview. I waited for Phil's reply but all I heard was laughing on the other end of the phone "why are you laughing?"
"That's a DIY shop Dan" he pointed out between bursts of laughter 
"I am a man now you should know"
"sure you are, I believe you" he told me sarcastically, to which I scowled. 
"Shut up and go play with your cordless hammer drill"
"Serious though congrats on the new job" He finally said after his laughter died down, I shrugged but realised he couldn't see.
"Well I needed to make money somehow"
"Hey if you get enough we could start looking at flats!" He yelled down the phone quickly 
"That's a great idea!" my heart swelled inside me and it was beating so fast. He wasn't kidding when he said we should move in together, he wanted us to. That was a big commitment, seeing the same person everyday "I can't wait" 
"same here Danny boy"
"okay that is definitely worse than buddy. Also is it alright if I drop round yours?" I asked as I realised I had unconsciously been walking towards Phil's house. 
"Sure, when?"
"well now? I'm literally almost on your street" 
"oh okay. see you soon then!" 
"See you in a min buddy" I hung up the phone and breathed in the cold air around me. I loved how Phil didn't question the short notice, he just went with the flow of life and made the most out of everything. 

I knocked on the door and heard a voice in the distance
"Its open" I opened it and looked into the living where I saw Phil lounging around and browsing his laptop. He had his glasses on which was extra adorable, his fringe was also tossled, I must of caught him on his lazy day. Lucky me. 

"Where's mother Lester?" I questioned as I kicked my shoes off and left them in the hall way with the others 
"she's out, won't be back until about 5" he told me, not looking up from his laptop, it must be something important. 
"Oh okay" I said and walked towards him, I could see the glint of the laptop screen in his glasses and he wasn't on Tumblr but I couldn't make out what he was looking at. When I got close he shut the laptop and we headed upstairs. "Someones being secretive" I pointed out
"well I wasn't going to say anything yet but" Phil began to set up his laptop again and gestured me over to sit on the bed with him. I crossed my legs and looked intently over at him, wondering what was going on "Isn't this the perfect place?" He indicated towards the screen which showed a flat, unfurnished and ready to move in. It looked so pretty and I was rendered momentarily speechless. 
"It has two rooms, and they're big" 
"That room has an ensuite, that's what I need in my life" I  scooted closer to look at the details of the house and my smile dropped when I saw the price "we couldn't afford that though"
"we both have jobs" Phil said
"yeah but the deposit"
"I can chip in for that, I've saved enough" 
"are you being serious!?" I asked. He had really thought about this, he really wanted this and I couldn't lie I wanted it too. Imagine living with your best friend, coming home from a long day at college and getting to see his face. Cook meals with him, watch TV with him, in our own place. 
"yeah"
"Is this actually happening? we'll have so much to sort out for it"
"I know, but it'll be worth it in the end" Phil smiled and his hand touched mine, sending electrical signals to run through me. Me and Phil looked into each others eyes and I leant forward slightly.
"we should probably um" my voice broke, making the quiet room come to life again "work out the details"
"yeah totally" Phil coughed and looked down at the laptop again. We spent an hour working out finances and food shopping before deciding to take a break. 

"I have something to show you" I told him
"It better not be your naked body"
"you wish"  I joked  "no, can I borrow your laptop?" before he could respond I grabbed the laptop and signed into my YouTube account. I got up the private video called "untitled".
"Is this what I think it is?" Phil questioned and I nodded, Phil excitedly jumped up and down on the bed and hit play. I watched the screen until I finally came into view and cringed inwardly. 

Phils pov:

Dan looked so cute and awkward in his video, I was sure he would get so many subs from this and it made my attempt look laughable, and not in the good way. He was really cute, the way the light hit him and made him look more tanned than he actually was. His voice was rougher than usual and it came as a surprise considering how used I had become to his silky smooth one. 

I found myself laughing at his editing whilst simultaneously laughing at Dan cringing and getting further away from the viewing screen until he was sitting on the floor.
"This is great!" I exclaimed when it had finished "Danisnotonfire" I winked at him as I read out his YouTube name and he blushed bright red
"you know I recorded this by balancing a camera on books?" he told me, changing the subject quickly
"no way, I need to get you a proper tripod"
"all you need to do is teach me how to edit, this was an appalling attempt" He muttered and face palmed. This was one thing I had realised about Dan, he never thought what he did was good enough and was constantly hesitant. Maybe that's why he didn't lean in all the way earlier? Or maybe he just didn't like me like that...
"Its good, its the right kind of random" I told him and he smiled brightly at me
"so are we going to upload it?"
"yeah" I replied and got my phone out. I clicked onto the YouTube app as Dan sat back down on the bed and opened up video manager "lets do it together"

Then before we could second guess ourselves we hit public and our videos were up.
