Walking out of the emergency staircase, your hand tightly grips onto the railings of the second floor, your eyes hastily dance around the floor below. It had to be here somewhere.

"Where?" Another operatives voice chimed in. Glancing from corner to corner, you only came back with nothing as it all seemed normal down below. You did, however, spot the operative stationed downstairs begin to move in casually. You watched the one before who spoke lightly try to make his way to the front of the crowd of reporters and photographers. His apologies could be heard faintly through the earpiece as some protested against his movements. 

"Stop." Namjoon, the leader of the team spoke, his voice echoing through your ear from the earpiece. All movements from all operatives were halted with one single word. You all knew all were treading on thin ice right now. One wrong move and everything could go wrong.  "They don't know we know they are here." The line shared between the six of you falls silent. "We need to play it cool right now." 

"How are we supposed to do that Joon?" You hear the same voice say again; Jin. "My uncle could be~"

"I know Jin. Taeyong, can you warn the director?" 

"All ready on it." Replying in nearly an instant, you follow Taeyong's movement towards Soohyun. Taeyong was the closest operative on the floor, in fact, he was stationed next to the stairs of the stage. So he was in the perfect position to call the director over without causing too much suspicion.

"We need to figure out where the demon is hiding before we act." 

"It's not the matter of where but who?" Hearing the voice of your fellow champion teammate, you turn around to see him take a stand next to you at the railing. His eyebrows were knitted together with concentration as he joined you in scanning the floor below. "There." Jungkook gestured towards a photographer standing in the front row, his cap preventing you from getting a better picture of his facial features. 

"Jungkook how are you so sure?" Another voice spoke, you recognised it to belong to Jimin.

"He is wearing the same cloths as the body." You hear Jungkook shakily exhale before reluctantly replying from beside you. Your hand immediately clutched onto the handle of your rifle after processing what Jungkook had said. You couldn't believe the demons would go to such drastic measures; killing an innocent bystander. You were used to seeing humans being harassed by demons but it didn't make it any easier for you to deal with. Everything single time you had come across a body which was brutally murdered by one of those vile creatures you couldn't stop your blood from beginning to boil. No matter how thorough you all are with patrols they still manage to go under the radar and commit the unforgiving. It angered you that besides your best efforts you still unable to prevent so many deaths and harassments of innocent bystanders. So whenever you are presented with a chance to prevent more in the future, you wouldn't even hesitate. You are positive a lot of the others at V.I.R.T.U.E felt the same way. Just by the way Jungkook reacted to the body told you that you both were on the same page.

Your face hardened at the creature as you watched it with pure hatred. "Sly little jackass." You seethed through your teeth. You roughly pull the weapon out from behind your back so that it rested on the railing. You aimed the barrel of your weapon at the head of the disguised creature but a hand clasping over the top of your rifle stopped you. Peering up from the scope of the weapon, you watch Jungkook shake his head. The both of you share knowing looks of anger but you knew you both couldn't do anything because your number one priority was to protect the directors and government officials. 

"Get the directors and government officials out first." Namjoon sternly commanded, causing Jin and Taeyong to jump into action. 

You slung your weapon back to rest on your back as you witness Jin walks up to the microphone and Taeyong makes his way towards the Officials and Directors. 

"I'm sorry but we are going to have to cut this short." They then proceeded to lead the rest of the Officials and Directors off of the stage. Luckily just as the reporters and photographers were about to cause an uproar, you caught out of the corner of your eye the said 'demon' slowly slip away out of the emergency exit. 

"It's escaping! Jungkook, (Y/n) I'm sending you after it! The rest, escort the officials and directors to the vehicles safely." 

"Rodger." Pivoting around, both of you head straight for the stairwell. You sprinted down the flights of stairs hastily with Jungkook close behind. You leap down the last three steps and ram your body against the emergency door, the force of your body causing the door to click open and reveal the blazing hot summer afternoon. 

You squinted at the harsh change of lighting before turning your attention to the left of the alleyway the exit had lead to. To your displeasure, it was empty. The only signs of life were the people busily strutting up and down the street in front of the alleyway. Turning to the right, you catch the glimpse of the creature's hair as it turns the corner. 

Gotcha

Snickering, you head down the alleyway and turn the corner, only to be met with a dead end. You open your mouth in disbelief but it was soon replaced with frustration.

"Up here, little hunters." Looking up at the figure standing at the top of the white wall, you hear Jungkook let out a scoff of annoyance before the demon let out a small chuckle. Her purple locks danced with the warm summer breeze along with her black skin tight corset which cascaded down her body into a long dress with two slits at the sides. Her red pupils glowed brightly as she looked down below in amusement. She lifted her hand up in a somewhat seductive manner and allowed her fingers to dance in the air, this caused stream of black smoke to slowly float down from her fingertips. It seems it wasn't, in fact, an 'it' or a 'he' but in fact a 'her.' "Catch me if you can."

sorry I have been MIA for so long. I had test after test after test and now I have to begin studying for my final exams. I finally found the time to revise this chapter and publish it so I hoped you enjoyed. It only gets more interesting from here.
