XXXI

[Grian]

I looked around G-team's base, making sure everything was ready. I was really nervous, but also really excited. The ceasefire was ending today and the war would finally start after all the waiting.

I still had a weird feeling about the Watcher I had met a while ago, but I tried to ignore it. I hadn't told any of my siblings about it. I wanted to find out more by myself first before going to tell them.

I grabbed the stuff we had prepared for the first fight and quickly got ready. The others were right next to me getting their stuff ready too. Soon we would go to the flag to take it down and start the war.

"Is everything ready?" I asked from Tango as he passed by me.

"Yep, all the redstone should be working. Just don't come touch it without a permission and we should be fine," he answered with a grin.

"I'll hold myself back," I laughed. He gave me thumps up and began hurrying upstairs to make a final check on everything.

"Everyone else ready?" I asked, turning to face my team standing behind me.

"Yes!" They exclaimed. I could see that they were all really hyped up about this, and I hoped the other team was as well.

"Let's go to the flag then!" I exclaimed and began leading my team forwards to the battlefield.

A while ago Iskall and I had gone and invited Mumbo to the war. We had made him join team S.T.A.R. to spy on them for us. He was doing his job somehow, but I guessed it was just as I had expected. A few problems here and there, but well, we were talking about MumboJumbo after all.

Speaking of him, he was now standing in a line with the rest of the team S.T.A.R. in front of our G-team. Above us was Concorp, who had discovered that this war could be a good business opportunity for them.

After exchanging a few words and having second thoughts, it was time to take down the flag.

"I'd do it, but I have only a pickaxe. I don't even have an axe," I pointed out, stabbing the wood with my iron pickaxe.

"Someone has to take it down," Doc answered, glancing up at the white flag that was waving in the quiet wind that pushed through the valley.

Then a TNT went off. I backed away quickly, shielding my vision and face with my hands as a few TNTs exploded right in front of us, blowing up the flag and Wels, Mumbo and Tango along with it.

"What the.?" I exclaimed before noticing Cobcorp on their platform with a flint and steel.

We were all kinda shocked by the sudden action and three deaths, but it had been pretty funny as no one had expected it.

"Guess the flag's down!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, the flag's down!" Doc answered from the other side before everyone started hurrying to their own bases to do final preparations.

[No one]

G-team retired back to their meeting room that Cleo had decorated. It was time for Grian to give one last speech and orders before they would go back to the battlefield and start fighting.

"I really didn't want to fight them, but guess there's not much to do about it. And Cub clearly wants us to fight," Grian spoke. He was already really excited and could barely sit still.

This war was a small and fun break from the actual war The Council had against Error. It was something he could use to get his mind off of the terrors of the actual war.

But he was also aware that his communicator back in his base was getting filled with panicked messages about a new attack. He couldn't help but feel guilty for not being able to help. He only had learned of it through a private message that Zloy had sent him to his Hermitcraft communicator.

"There's a temporary peace going on," Grian said, but as soon as the words escaped past his lips, an explosion rang outside and something flew towards the base.

"Ooh, I spoke too soon," he sighed, looking out of the tainted glass window.

"Okay, forget that! Tango, Iskall, go to the control room. Do the thing! Stress, you with me on the battlefield. Jevin and Cleo you're on defensive duties. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go!" Grian gave away orders immediately before jumping down the bubble elevator with Stress right on his tail.

"On the horses. Do you have the stuff you need?" Grian turned to look at Stress as they hurried towards the horses by the backdoor.

"No!" Stress panicked and jumped down another bubble elevator to go down to get the stuff she was missing.

Grian watched after her as he slipped on his armour and prepared the stuff he needed. Then he noticed his lack of shoes and dove down below after Stress to go get the missing armour pieces.

"Let's get some potions and then we need to leave," Grian ordered quickly as Stress followed him through the base.

"We need to leave via our secret exit, there is no time!" he continued and turned around to notice that the brunette was no longer after him.

"Where?" she called out from another room.

"Stress! I can't stress enough! There's no time!" Grian exclaimed with his trident in hand as he watched Stress spin around, trying to find where he was.

"Where are you?" she laughed as she couldn't find him.

"Over here!" Grian called out.

Stress spun to look at the right direction this time and laughed as she began running towards him. "There!"

They swam up the bubble elevator and run into another small problem as Stress managed to get stuck.

"There's nothing I can do," Grian laughed as he watched the other try getting out of the hole.

After a few more struggles and confusions the two of them finally made it to the battlefield. They used their horses and slow falling potions to jump from the roof to the enemy's territory.

They got attacked immediately. There was fire and arrows coming from different directions.

"What do we do, Stress?" Grian asked, trying to dodge all the flames on the ground.

"I don't know!" she exclaimed while trying to keep her horse under control.

A few moments went past just by struggling and trying to stay alive while burning alive and then Grian got a better idea.

"I got an idea!" he announced Stress.

"What is it?" she asked, hurrying back to him and glancing at the TNT he held in his hands.

"Let's spam down some TNT," Grian smirked. "We're gonna make a line and blow it up. That'll make a trench between us and them," he continued and handed a bunch of TNT to her.

"Alright," she nodded and hurried to go place down the explosives she had received.

They both placed down the TNT and backed away a bit to take a look at where their enemies were. Suddenly a ghast shoot a fireball directly into the TNTs.

Neither of them had time to really reach. Stress blew up immediately, but Grian managed to jump down a hole to save his life.

For a second he just laid on the stone floor, trying to get all the dirt out of his eyes. He could feel blood trickling down his face. His hand were covered in crimson and his clothes had taken a lot of damage.

The dust from the explosion was getting into his lungs, making him have a coughing fit. He coughed out blood that splattered on the floor. His ears were ringing a bit, but he tried to focus on getting back up.

He managed to push himself up, but almost immediately vomited blood. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve and climbed out of the hole.

"Grian!" Stress called out for him as she ran back to the battlefield. She stopped in front of him and forced a potion of regeneration into his hands.

He placed the cold bottle against his lips and let the liquid go down his throat. The effects were immediate.

"Are you alright?" Stress asked, eyeing him up and down to see if something was still wrong.

"I'm fine now. Thanks for the potion," Grian hummed and turned to look back at the enemy territory behind them.

They returned back to the battlefield to take a look at the situation better. Team S.T.A.R.'s ghast was firing from their base and G-team was answering the fire with their own fireballs.

"I see our man on the inside. I'll go speak with him," Grian informed Stress after spotting Mumbo.

"Alright!" Stress hummed before running off to the battlefield.

Grian led Mumbo to a small hole in the side of the battlefield.

"You never told me it was going to be this crazy. I'm trying my best not to kill the other team, but at the same time look like I'm trying to kill the other team," Mumbo said as soon as he stepped into the little hiding hole Grian had dug out.

"That's fine. I completely understand. Wasn't quite expecting an apocalypse," Grian sighed as he peeked outside from the door to make sure no one was watching them. He then back up to the room and glanced at Mumbo while leaning against the dirt wall.

"So, what's going on?" he asked, raising an eyebrow and crossing his arms while keeping an eye out for the war going outside.

Mumbo began explaining everything that team S.T.A.R. had planned. Grian didn't like it when he mentioned creepers. He knew the lurking creatures would cause some chaos.

"How did our zombie attack go?" Grian asked once Mumbo was finished.

"It gave us a fright," Mumbo admitted, Grian nodded. "It went well, and it was impressive. Was very weird to get zombies with my own head."

"So now we're gonna need a little place where to exchange information," Grian said before Mumbo got a chance to escape out of the door to return back to the battlefield.

"Let's keep exchanging notes. We can still keep them in the shopping district so it looks as if you were just shopping casually. Let the first place be False's fish shop," Grian informed.

"Alright. I'll see you later then," Mumbo nodded before vanishing out of the door, leaving Grian alone in hole.

Just as Mumbo had disappeared out of his vision, Grian felt something. A terrible pain spiked through his whole body, making him bend over, wrapping his arms around himself as he held back a scream.

Blood poured from his mouth on the floor of the hole as he collapsed from the unstandable pain.

"Shit-!" he managed to whisper as he realised what was coming.

(Civil War started finally :D)

(Also, I don't know how many Undertale fans read my stories, but I've been also thinking about a sanscest book that I might do. I got inspiration from another book and now I feel like I have a quite interesting storyline, but I'm still not 100% sure.)

(Anyways, Fyre's birthday! And yes, I'm still going with last year's pictures- Might start drawing new ones this or next week.)

(Fyre was 21 when it died in 2016.)

(5 facts:

1. It was born in the Twilight Forest, making it and Mindstorm the only ones from there.

2. Its full name is Flowe Frost.

3. Fyre and Adralia are only remembered by Kasen, Chet and Sherenidy. The rest of The Council have no idea about their existence.

4. It wa the strongest magic user in The Council, but sacrificed its life to break Adralia free from the lie she had been forced to live, and to save the rest of their siblings.

5. It also publicly broke the clothing rules by wearing a pink cloak and white shirt. If Van remembered it, he would be constantly reminded Dexter and others who break the clothing rules to not follow up its footsteps.)
