XXVI

[Grian]

My head ached and the whole world was spinning around as I finally managed to open my eyes and wake up. I felt terrible and when I tried to sit up, I fell back down into the pool of blood, vomiting.

"Take it easy, we wouldn't want you to die, would we?" Xavier warned, but hidden in his tone was a hint of taunt.

'W-what... Did.. Y-you.. D-do..?' I managed to ask him, squeezing my eyes shut in the hopes that the headache would stop.

"Oh, dear, I didn't do anything! Our little body just seems a bit too weak for the both of us!" Xavier hummed.

I didn't answer, I had nothing to answer to him. I remember hearing about Fallens and how they could kill their hosts just by being too powerful for the host's body to handle. I had actually no idea how strong Xavier was, which kinda worried me because if he was strong, I would definitely die to him sooner or later.

"I suggest just laying here and taking a nap. Maybe you'll wake up again if we get lucky!" Xavier said.

I couldn't resist against the tiredness that was taking over me, my eyes shut closed and I hoped that I would one day open them again.

        The Main HQ's lobby was quiet. The hands on the clock began approaching midnight. The library's door was one a bit open and a dim light made its way to the dark lobby. The medical center's doors were open and more light poured into the lobby from there. The front doors were closed, but not locked incase someone happened to have a medical emergency in the middle of the night.

Reed was leaning against the wall next to the second floors doors. His green eyes kept running over the familiar details of the room over and over again.

Ned was leaning against the railings in front of the door that stopped people from falling down from the platform above the meeting room's doors. On both of the sides of the platform were stairs that led to the platform where was the door that led to the second floor and The Council's private spaces. The stairs and platform framed the meeting rooms doors perfectly. It was Quinn's masterpiece, as she had claimed by herself.

         The library's door opened a bit more and closed soon after that. Ned looked down to see Oskari walking up the stairs, heading to the second floor.

"Library's closed for tonight, isn't it?" the sandy brunette haired admin asked from the raven haired Watcher once he reached the platform.

"Yep. ꖎᒷᓭꖎ╎ᒷ's still in the warehouse though, but she might exit through the basement," Oskari answered. "Good night you two," he hummed before placing his hand on the second floor's door handle.

"Good night! See you tomorrow!" Ned waved.

"⊣𝙹𝙹↸ リ╎⊣⍑ℸ ̣!" Reed echoed Ned's words in Galactic as Oskari shut the door behind him.

"Two more hours to go," Ned hummed, leaning back against the railings.

        Twenty minutes later Haylie walked past them, stopping for a conversation before heading to her own room in the second floor. Five minutes after that Topaz followed her suit and twelve minutes after that Chet and Tatton returned from outside.

"No signs of any players," Ned pointed out after Chet and Tatton had left.

"ℸ ̣ ⍑ᔑℸ ̣ 'ᓭ ⊣𝙹𝙹↸, ʖ⚍ℸ ̣  ᔑꖎᓭ𝙹 ꖌ╎リ↸ᔑ ᓭℸ ̣ ∷ᔑリ⊣ᒷ. ⚍ᓭ⚍ᔑꖎꖎ|| ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷ∷ᒷ'ᓭ ᔑℸ ̣  ꖎᒷᔑᓭℸ ̣  ᓭ𝙹ᒲᒷ𝙹リᒷ ∴ᔑリℸ ̣ ╎リ⊣ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 ᓭリᒷᔑꖌ ╎リ," Reed pointed out, crossing his arms.

"By the way, do you know who's coming after us tonight?" Ned asked, turning his back to the door.

"ᒲᔑ||ʖᒷ ⎓∷╎ᒷ↸ᒷ ᔑリ↸ ᓵᔑℸ ̣ 𝙹リ?" Reed guessed with a shrug. "𝙹∷ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷリ ⚍!¡ℸ ̣ 𝙹リ ᔑリ↸ ꖎ||リ↸𝙹リ," he continued.

Then they both spun to look at the door at the exact same time. Their eyes drifted through the room and stopped to a figure with long hair and torn Watcher cloak. Their eyes were glowing and their whole body kept glitching as they turned to look up.

"Help... Me..." they said, their voice glitching and changing tones like they were a robot.

Ned and Reed looked at each other, but didn't move towards them. Something in their aura screamed danger, and the two guards weren't going to fall for it.

A flashing light cut the room and the figure flew against the wall, screaming in pain as the purple flames burned their skin.

"⊣-," they started, but exploded to pieces before getting a change to continue.

          Ned and Reed turned to look at Yenny who was calling back the purple fires. She turned to look back at them from the door of the medical center.

"What the hell was that?" she asked, looking back at where they had disappeared.

"╎ ∴╎ᓭ⍑ ╎ ꖌリᒷ∴," Reed answer, glancing at Ned, who looked as clueless and shocked as he.

"A ghost, a lost soul, a Fallen Watcher, we don't know," Ned whispered.

"Whatever it was, it felt like death," Yenny mumbled.

"Where the hell did it even come from?" Ned asked frowning, he hadn't felt anything off before they had already been standing in the lobby, which didn't seem right since he could feel everything around the Main HQ.

"リ𝙹 ℸ ̣ ∷ᔑᓵᒷᓭ 𝙹⎓ ℸ ̣ ᒷꖎᒷ!¡𝙹∷ℸ ̣  ᔑリ||∴⍑ᒷ∷ᒷ. ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷ|| ∴ᔑꖎꖌᒷ↸ ᓭℸ ̣ ∷ᔑ╎⊣⍑ℸ ̣  ℸ ̣ ⍑∷𝙹⚍⊣⍑ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷ ⎓∷𝙹リℸ ̣  ↸𝙹𝙹∷," Reed confirmed, biting his lip. He hadn't felt anything either, which too worried him.

"You seem uneasy," Yenny pointed out, crossing her arms worriedly, "I'm assuming that you didn't feel anything either," she said.

"Not."

"ᔑ."

"Single."

"ℸ ̣ ⍑╎リ⊣."

The guards answered in sync. Yenny frowned and leaned against the medical center door, running a hand through her long, blonde hair.

"I think this needs the attention of someone who knows more about darker creatures," she pointed out, glancing towards the guards behind her mask - ignoring the fact that they couldn't see it.

"I'll go see who I can find," Ned nodded and rushed through the second floor door.

       Ned's footsteps echoed through the hallway as he hurried to the library. He ignored the complains he got from the Mains' rooms that were on the same hallway. It was just almost one o'clock at night, no one was sleep anyways.

He bursted through the library's doors, scaring the shit out of Lupin and Sherenidy who were still there.

"リᒷ↸! You piece of shit!" Sherenidy exclaimed. "It's past midnight and you're bursting in here like that!" they scolded him.

"We discovered a little problem," Ned said, ignoring the frown on their face.

"Ain't someone always causing some kind of problems?" Lupin asked, tilting her head.

"Well, now it wasn't one of us," Ned answered, getting Sherenidy to raise their eyebrows.

"What kind of problems and who's causing them?" they asked, setting the book they had been reading on the table.

"A dark creature appeared in the lobby. They managed to get there without us noticing and begged for help, but ||ᒷリ burned them with their magic," Ned explained in a serious tone.

"Do you have any idea what creature it could have been?" Lupin asked before Sherenidy got the chance to do that.

"No, non of us knows about that kind of stuff. That's why I came here," Ned answered, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Lead the way, I'll come check it out," Sherenidy decided, standing up and turning to look at Lupin, "You should come too."

Lupin nodded, "I will."

"Let's go then," Ned hummed and turned on his heels.

[No one]

        Sherenidy and Lupin walked through the lobby while Ned and Reed just followed their movements from the platform. Yenny had returned to the medical center.

"There is a weird aura that's still barely noticeable," Sherenidy pointed out, casting a look towards Ned and Reed.

"No signs of any creature though, not even here where's clear signs of ||ᒷリ's magic," Lupin added, placing her hand on the floor where Yenny had thrown the creature to.

"Jessica's right," Sherenidy hummed.

"Hey!" Lupin growled.

"It's hard to say what it was that has been here, but we do believe that there has been something dark," they continued, ignoring Lupin's interruption.

"What should we do about it?" Ned asked, leaning against the railing.

"Keep an eye out for them incase they return. There aren't traces of someone dying, so they must have gotta away," Sherenidy answered, Lupin nodded behind them.

"Jessica, we'll keep you with the twins here," they continued, making her frown at the name and raise her eyebrow at the rest of the sentence.

"We're switching out at 2 am and coming back in at 7 am," Ned answered.

"ʖ⚍ℸ ̣  ||𝙹⚍ ᓵᔑリ ᓭℸ ̣ ᔑ|| ∴╎ℸ ̣ ⍑ ∴⍑𝙹ᒷ⍊ᒷ∷ ᓵ𝙹ᒲᒷᓭ ╎リ ᔑ⎓ℸ ̣ ᒷ∷ ⚍ᓭ ℸ ̣ 𝙹リ╎⊣⍑ℸ ̣ ," Reed continued.

"Yeah, you'll stay here for some time and I'll come switch out with you tomorrow and then we switch again. Let's keep watch for a week to see if they return," Sherenidy hummed, glancing at Lupin.

"Fine, alright," Lupin sighed, giving in. "It's not like I have anything else to do anyways," she added with a shrug.

"I'll go information ᔑꖎ↸ᒷリ and ᒲᔑ𝙹 about this now," Sherenidy decided and began heading towards the stairs.

Midway she stopped and leaned her head back, leaving the others in confusion - especially since non of them could see her eyes since they were all admins.

"↸ᒷᓭ!¡╎ℸ ̣ ᒷ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷᒲ ʖᒷ╎リ⊣ ⍊╎ᓭ╎ʖꖎᒷ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 ⚍ᓭ, ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷ|| ↸𝙹 リ𝙹ℸ ̣  ᓭ!¡ᒷᔑꖌ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 ⚍ᓭ," she said before walking up and leaving through the second floor doors without another word.

"How many confusing Galactic speakers do we even have?" Lupin asked once she was gone.

"ℸ ̣ 𝙹𝙹 ᒲᔑリ||," Reed sighed.

"Did anyone understand a shit from that?" Ned asked.

"Definitely not," Lupin sighed.

"Great! Just great!" Ned groaned. "Well, this might be a long night."

Words: 1816

[16.3.2022]

(It's that time when there's three birthdays right after one another-)

(Not used to drawing two people in the same picture like that. It is what it is. Ned looks smaller, but they're both actually the same height.)

(Anyways, they're both 20 in 2018.)

(5 facts:

1. They're not biologically related, but they're twins by soul, just like all the members of The Council are siblings by soul.

2. Ned's full name is Devin Shelley and Reed's is David Rex.

3. From the two of them Ned is more chaotic while Reed is more calm. They balance each other out. Also, Reed speaks Galactic as his first language while Ned speaks English.

4. They are in charge of guarding the second floor door and are used to standing there for hours straight.

5. Thanks to a typing mistake I made exactly a year ago, they used to own a sewer together, but had to end it when they joined The Council.)
