I had a plan but no one knew of it.

I went to my parent's car, which I knew was unlocked because my dad was forgetful and always forgot to lock the doors, and opened the trunk. No one knew it, but I had snuck out in the middle of the night at about three AM this morning to tie a rope in order to make a noose. I probably spent about an hour trying to figure it out and I wasn't thinking straight so I didn't think to go and Google it. Nonetheless, I took my make-shift noose and slammed the trunk shut. I took off my shoes and carried them as I headed to my destination.

Thankfully, Central Park wasn't that far of a walk from the funeral home. It was freezing outside and my feet got colder with every single step that I took because the bitter cold wind was blowing tiny flakes of snow into my face. I didn't care though because where I was heading, there wasn't pain. And where I was going was where Charlie was.

I saw the tree. But it wasn't just any ol' tree. This was the tree that Charlie and I always went to when we were kids. We would climb it and I broke my arm one time after I tripped over a branch and fell a decent amount from the tree. We would also always walk over here after school instead of going to our babysitter's and she would always get mad at us but we never listened because we were eight and ten year old kids and we only didn't go to this tree if it was winter.

Looking around to make sure that people weren't around, I tied the noose around the closest branch from the ground. I just wanted to get this over with because I felt like my feet were going to fall off from how cold and red they were. I placed my hands around the noose and felt it graze my neck.
"Brittany! What are you doing?!"
