Arriving at Santa Carla

the ocean bay grew bigger and i could see my mom getting really excited about our new home in Santa Carla. I wind the window down to smell the ocean breeze, and to my surprise, the boardwalk looked awesome. my mom cranked up the radio since her favorite song was on, and i was forced to listen to her singing for the rest of the trip. the ocean breeze was incredibly strong, and as we drove past the big sign of Santa Carla, i had noticed that someone had spay painted in red "murder capital of the world" across the back.  thinking it was a joke i looked in front at the road ahead. i guess i should've taken the graffiti seriously, as now i sort of wished i did.
"oo i cant wait to start work! and you're gonna make so many friends and maybe get a boyfriend-"
"MOOOOMMM"
"okay okay going to far but hey you never know!"
i always get that from my mom when ever we move into a new town, but i guess since she divorced dad that she always wants the best for me. she'd always been worried when i mentioned my love for comic books, but then again, she always wants me to find a guy and get married and im only fourteen.
we drove past all the laid back houses with quite a few weirdos living in them, and then arrived at our brand new home. it was a two-story house with white bricks like it had just snowed on them. The grass was freshly mowed, and most of the flowers looked okay. The door was red for some weird reason, yet everything else was white. My mom didn't seem to notice, and she quickly parked the car in excitement.
Mom kept talking about how she can't wait to meet our neighbours and get some friends and everything, while I on  the other hand was looking forward to see if there was a comic book store on the boardwalk.
" hey mom," I asked her
"Yes sweetie?" She replied, a little to excited.
"Would I be able to go down to the boardwalk after we finish moving in?"
"Sure! But try to find a nice guy that will-"
" yes mom!" I said rushing inside to avoid her attempt to get me a husband.

After about two hours all my gear was sorted out and I was ready to hit the boardwalk. I had thrown my hair up into a messy bun, and had worn my simple black marvel t-shirt, a grey knitted cardigan, black leggings and simple Converse shoes. I continued to ignore my moms attempt of relationship advice, and quickly headed down to the boardwalk, which would've been faster if I had a bike.
