A few hours later while the sun was setting, AhRo sat beside the girl with Hansung. She looked down at the poor thing, she felt bad because the Hwarang's were very rude and way too rogue on her, thanks to that she may have fainted when she 'went to sleep'. AhRo looked at the girl then back at Hansung, tilting her head a bit in confusion
"Hansung, why did you defend her?" at this Hansung didn't look at AhRo but at the girl, and again to the sunset
"Because she's my friend" he lied, but after the talk a while back he already called himself that, in the same moment DanSe walked in and in front of Hansung
"It's time for your sparring lessons" Hansung whined and got up
"DanSe, I can't-" his hyung interrupted him by dragging him out of the medical room and to the back of the stalls where they practiced at night. DanSe walked over the false sword wrack and pulled two of them out, walking back to Hansung, handing him one of the fake swords and backing off to a decent distance from him, Hansung whined again out of irritation
"Hyung, I don't want to-"
"Hansung, be a man for once, you MUST learn sparring in order to become a great Hwarang"
-Somewhere else...-
Slowly her eyelids opened up, looking around to see that night has reached high peek, the Hwarang's must be asleep. The girl slowly sat up and looked for the woman who was sitting beside her, but AhRo must have left as well. Taking it as an opportunity she cautiously got up and slowly but steady, walked to the back of Hwarang House as she tried to quickly find a way out, until a shout startled her, running into a bush, but seeing no one behind her, then another scream, but this time she followed the sound, hiding behind a wall, she peeked through a small hole on it, seeing the guy that saved her with the other guy that almost killed her, sparring in the middle of the night. Of course, she found it strange, but still she didn't move as she watched them fight.
-Back to the sparring...-
DanSe lunged forward and made Hansung fall for the fourth time, making him loose his patience as Hansung threw the 'sword' to the floor
"Hyung, I'm not good, stop" DanSe ignored him and took his sword again, signaling to his younger to get up and start again. Hansung sighed and picked up his sword again, this time he lunged to his hyung, but DanSe easily shoved him with another attack and threw him back to the ground
"Enough of foul play, Hansung, agai-" Hansung got up and growled loud
"AGAIN, and then AGAIN and AGAIN until I get it RIGHT. YES! I'm tired of this, Hyung! Can't you understand that I can't do it!? I'm not as good as you hy-"
"Then TRY HARDER to BE as GOOD as ME, You're the only one that can bring back up the Seok Family, Hansung, can't you understand!?" with this as his final word, DanSe left to his room, engulfed in rage. Hansung just stayed there, thinking of what he just said, it was his family's doing that DanSe felt that way. While Hansung was on and off of his mind, he didn't notice the girl walking to him from behind until she gently tapped on his shoulder, to which he jumped but upon seeing her he calmed down
"I thought that you were sleeping..." the girl sighed and sat beside him, still putting some distance in between them
"I was...that guy, is he your familiar or something?" Hansung tilted his head, confused
"Why do you ask?" at this she looked up at the star-filled sky
"I also have an older brother, and an older sister..." Hansung slowly then scooted a bit closer, not too noticeable, to hear her better
"Really? You have a big family?" he smiled a bit, but she didn't react the same way
"My sister left us months ago to reunite with my mother... only my brother and I are still here" Hansung got confused again
"To be with your mother, but isn't she with your father...do you have a dad?" the girl looked at the ground, her eyes getting a bit red
"My mother passed away years ago and my father is soon going to follow her steps..." Hansung felt a pang on his heart, he knew how it felt, but hearing it from someone else hurt him. Now he did what she thought he wouldn't do, he got up, got in front of her sitting figure and hugged her tightly, she didn't hug back but allowed him to do so, after a few seconds he backed off and back to where he was sitting. 10 minutes had passed of silence until she got up and went to pick up one of the 'swords', pointing at him with it then backing up
"Get up" Hansung got up and walked up to her, but she pushed him gently back
"I'll teach you how to spare" Hansung quickly picked up the 'sword' and caked up as well
"But I'm not as good as my Hyung" he questioned, to which the girl chuckled and gave him a small smile
"You're going to be as good as you can be" at this Hansung smiled, she nodded then lunged towards him, he failed the first two times but the third time he DID dodge her attack, and the sixth time he managed to attack back. It kept on to the point were they both were fighting as if they were using real swords.
The girl charged again at the same time that he did, both their swords blocking each other's attacks, pushing each sword further to try and make the other fall back, while they were pushing their swords, Hansung again stared at her eyes, this time she stared back with the same energy as he did, both locking eyes for what seemed like an eternity, Hansung smiled sweetly at her, the girl smiled back at him, then stepped forward and made him fall back. She withdrew her 'sword' and helped him up, he took the chance and held her hands tightly. The girl started to get nervous and to try and pry her hands from his grasp
"Is your... is your name Kari (Kare)?" he finally asked, she stopped her actions and looked at him, confusion showed on her face
"How do you know my name?" she stared at him, looking for a logic answer, Hansung just smiled and gripped her hands tighter
"Back when we were kids, you saved me, but I never got to see you again. After this sparring lesson memories of that day came back to me, you did the same thing back then, smiling then attacking, just to help me get up again..." Kari blinked her eyes, she couldn't believe him, he surely was lying, he must be...
"How do I make sure that you're not lying?" Hansung chuckled and got closer to her, almost whispering, he repeated the same question that she asked him
"Hey! Are you lost? Because you look like you could use some help!"
