CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT: JUDGEMENT DAY !

━━━━━━

IT WASN'T OFTEN THAT SPENCER AND CASEY HAD THE GANG OVER AT THE APARTMENT. But they figured a team night was what they needed.

They had been over at the patio where all the women on the team — and Morgan — had been resting on lawn chairs and enjoying themselves with margaritas and for Casey, a virgin margarita.

Spencer had been refilling Casey's drink and Hotch and Rossi were putting up lights that both Spencer and Casey had been meaning to do but never got around to doing so.

As Spencer had come back outside, JJ comments: "It's even brighter than it was an hour ago." Garcia nods, "It's like magic and science and fairy tales all rolled up into one."

Spencer had taken a look at the night sky. "Actually, it's ion speeding into the earth's magnetic field and then they collide with air molecules. Hm." He tells.

"Leave it to the genius to draw it all out scientifically." Morgan comments, looking at Garcia and the rest of the gang chuckles.

"Yeah, especially with his pregnant girlfriend and his baby who's in the womb that likes the sound of his voice mixed with statistical terms," Casey sighs exasperatedly. "Seriously, if this little thing gets any bigger, I'll never be able to snap back." The woman shivers a bit.

"Hey, was that a shiver? I think I detected a shiver. Lady, you should go inside with that shiver." Garcia tells the woman and Casey shakes her head at her friend. "Shh, I'm fine, I'm feeling fine."

"You didn't look so fine when you were bent over the toilet puking your guts out today at work." Blake states.

"Nausea, headaches, all a normal part of pregnancy." Casey assures. "Along with gas, heartburn, constant need to pee." JJ added.

"Sounds fun." Garcia comments. "Oh, it is." JJ nodded. "See, this is why you're over here, you understand me." Casey tells, patting JJ on the thigh.

Hotch and Rossi had finished with the lights and had announced that they were done. "Oh, thank you for putting up those lights guys. I've been meaning to do it but with the baby, it's just stressful. And Spencer, he stresses out with me, so..."

"Everything is stressful with a baby on the way." Rossi understands. "I mostly did everything for Haley when she was pregnant with Jack so I know what it looks like." Hotch tells.

"I know," Casey then looks Spencer's way. "And speaking of stress, my grandmother will be coming into town next week in time for the baby to be born."

"Edith?" JJ questions.
"Yup."
"But we're trying everything to make sure you're stress-free." Garcia says.

Everyone had been aware of the spontaneous Edith Howard-Willows, who was Casey's grandmother. Their relationship had gotten a lot better but obviously, there were some kinks with their relationship but they were getting better.

"I know and thank you for that." Casey removes her blanket from her body and carefully stands up from her seat. "Now, I think I'm gonna head on up and ooh—" Everything began to get dizzy for Casey and the room began to spin. "Or maybe down."

Casey had then fallen back down on the seat and had blacked out, remembering the last thing she had seen had been everyone surrounding her.

The next thing Casey had remembered was waking up in a hospital bed. According to the team, Casey wasn't waking up and they decided that the next best option was for Casey to go to the hospital.

Blake, Rossi and Hotch had left the room momentarily as the rest stayed. Spencer was seated next to the woman, holding her left hand in comfort with his right hand while his left hand was preoccupied rubbing Casey's belly. "You scared us." He tells.

"Me too," Casey said. "I wonder why that happened. I usually don't feel dizzy like that."

"Maybe we should be looking out for you more, Ace." Morgan says. Casey shakes her head, "No, it was my fault, everybody was telling me to slow down."

"It's not your fault. It's not anyone's fault." Garcia tells, Blake, Rossi and Hotch all coming back just in time, giving JJ a bag of Cheetos, Morgan a cup of coffee and Garcia a bag of gummies.

"I mean, with what we do on a daily basis, it was bound to happen." JJ tells Casey.

The doctor enters the room and notices everyone. "Wow, packed room, lotta love, I'm assuming." The woman comments and then turns to Casey. "How are you feeling?" She asks.

"Eh, tired and weak." Casey admits. "I've got your test results here but I can't find your chart. When are you due?" The woman asks. "Uh, in about two weeks." Casey says.

"And who is your regular doctor?" The woman asks.
"Dr. Dennis. But I haven't been to doctor's appointments in a couple of months."

The woman furrows her brows in confusion. "Any reason for that?" She asks. "One being work and the other reason with my boyfriend having three PhDs." Casey chuckles.

"I'm open to all forms of healing but a woman in her third trimester should've had ultrasounds and blood work done by now." The woman tells. "I have, I just don't answer the doctors... sometimes." Casey admitted.

Casey had been balancing work and getting ready to leave for her maternity leave, that she hadn't been paying attention to taking care of the baby inside her. "I wish you would've answered because we could've caught your condition earlier."

"I'm sorry, my condition?" Casey questions, her concern rising as well as Spencer's.

"Toxemia," The doctor revealed. "It's a form of high blood pressure in pregnant women. Do you deal with unusual stress in your life?"

Casey looks at Spencer before answering: "How unusual are we talking?" The unusual things she dealt with at her job was probably enough to handle.

     "Is it serious?" Garcia asks.

"Toxemia restricts blood flow and food and oxygen to the placenta. It can result in a small baby, premature delivery or it can lead to other complications, none of which you need to worry about now." Spencer explains and the woman nods at her patient. "He's right. And most women respond quickly to the treatment."

"Okay, so give me the treatment." Casey tells. "The treatment involves a no salt diet, no stress and lots of bed rest. Do that and the symptoms should reverse. I'll be back later to check on you."

The woman leaves and Spencer looks at the girl in the hospital bed and rubs the back of her hand with his thumb. "High blood pressure isn't just physical, it's a state of mind."

"No stress and bed rest. Do you think you can handle that?" Morgan asks. "Yeah, I can handle that," Casey had immediately nodded. "I'll do anything." JJ nodded and took a look at the group. "So will we."

Casey looked at the stomach in front of her. She really should've answered those calls from her doctors, she should've stopped rescheduling her appointments and she should've just taken it easy. She knew that she could do it. The baby was due in just two weeks and she knew she could get better for her baby.

━━━━━━

Casey had spent a night at the hospital and so JJ, Morgan and Garcia had taken this opportunity to help clean the couple's apartment up so they had less stuff to worry about. "Hello?" Spencer had called for the three as they entered their apartment.

Suddenly, Morgan, Garcia and JJ appeared before them. "Welcome home, fair maiden. Or should I say your highness? Because from now on we are your loyal subjects." Garcia smiles as she hugs the woman and rubs her stomach.

"We even turned your bedroom into a royal throne room." JJ says, playing along with Garcia. "Let me take you there now, my queen." Morgan holds a hand out.

"Alright, knock it off before I cut your heads off." Casey jokes. "I don't want any special treatment."

"Casey, we love you, let us love you." Garcia says. "Yeah, I mean, as your friends and your midwives — even though you keep telling me we aren't your midwives, we still are in my eyes — we feel it's our duty to provide you with solitude and serenity and love."

"And I appreciate that, but, you guys, it's fine, everything's fine. I'm not gonna let anything bother me for the sake of my child." Casey assured her team. "Come on, I'll take you to the room." Spencer tells.

As Spencer does so, Garcia's cell buzzes and she sees it's a text from Hotch, telling her to hurry back to the BAU because they had a case. She gives a look to Morgan and JJ. "Where?" Morgan sighs, seeing the look Garcia is giving them.

      "It's local." Garcia answers.
      "I'll get Reid." Morgan tells.

"Are you sure you don't want anything? I can get those crackers you like." Spencer tells, helping Casey onto their bed. "I'm okay, Spence, really. If you leave me with a magazine and a glass of ice water, I'll be fine." Spencer smiles and then looks down and Casey reads him like a book. Something's wrong. "Hey, what's wrong?" She asks.

"Just wish we didn't cancel those appointments and stuff." Spencer had this irrational fear of something being wrong with his baby, it was normal for every parent. No parents wants their child to be born with cancer or some type of disability that could be dangerous for the newborn. "Our baby is okay. Healthy as a horse, we are doing everything right, okay?" Casey places her hands on Spencer's face and pecks him on the lips.

"What's that thing we always say to the baby?" Casey asks. "Uh... 'you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.'" Reid recites. "It's a Christopher Robin quote."

There is a knock on the door and the two turn to Morgan. "Hey, we just got called in." He informs and Spencer turns towards Casey, hesitant to leave her.

"Go," Casey tells. "Go do your job. They need you."
Spencer looks down before asking: "Are you sure?" Casey nodded, "Yeah. I'm sure." Spencer sighs and hopes he's doing the right thing. "Okay."

Spencer leans in for a quick kiss on Casey's lips and practically whispers: "I love you." Casey smiles and basically whispers back: "I love you, too."

"And I love you." Spencer looks down at Casey's stomach and kisses her stomach. Casey laughs and Morgan smiles at the scene, noting how far the couple has come in his head. He was happy that they found each other.

Spencer stands and begins to exit the room and Morgan nudges his head towards Casey. "You hang in there, kid." He tells. "I will." Before Morgan leaves, Casey stops him once more. "Hey, Morgan?"

Morgan stops in front of the door. "Make sure he comes back in one piece." Morgan chuckles at the comment and nods, "Of course."

━━━━━━

When the four arrived at the BAU, it was utter chaos. Everyone was busy and the news was on at high volume and everyone was scattering around with files. They've seen this before. And this meant that it wasn't good. Curious, the four went upstairs to the roundtable:

Blake, Hotch and Rossi are already in the room. "Sorry to call you guys in, but this is urgent." Hotch told the four.
"Why is everyone going crazy?" Garcia asks. "Why is the bomb squad here?" Morgan asks, looking downstairs.

"We've just been informed that we have a bomb warning here in Virginia." Hotch informs the team. "What?" JJ crosses her arms and Rossi turns on the news. It was chaos outside as well as inside.

"Last week, a small explosion happened down in Montclair, then another one is Dale City and another in Woodbridge. We believe that our bomber is going to be hitting here next." Hotch explains.
"He's going down the order of the towns and the cities." Rossi states. "It's bad."

"We've also been told that we can't contact our families to warn them or tell them anything about the bomb. The bomb squad is tracking all of our phones as we speak." Hotch informs.

"We can't announce anything to the public?" JJ asks.
"Yes, if this gets out, we have no way of finding our bomber because he may go into hiding. We need to build a profile as quickly as we can. And with Casey out, I've called extra help for this one."

      "Who?" Blake asks.

Suddenly, Detective Vivian Hudson walks in, Casey's temporary replacement. Her presence was needed now since Casey was gone. "Me."

"Vivian Hudson, nice to see you again." Morgan greets and the woman nods back at Morgan. "Glad to be here, agents."

"And speaking of Casey, since she's in the public eye, she can't know about this." Hotch tells and everyone is hesitant about this decision. "We can't tell her or warn her?" Garcia asks.

"Even if we wanted to, we can't. Since she's already off work, she's considered in the public eye." Hotch tells the team.

"Plus, with a baby on the way and her needing to be on bed rest and not be stressed, it's better if she doesn't know." Spencer understands. He doesn't want the girl he loves to be under more stress than she should be.

"Rossi, Blake, I'd like for you two to go and visit the most recent crime scene in Woodbridge. Morgan, go down to the hospital and chat with some of the survivors from the most recent blast. Hudson and I will talk with the bomb squad. As for the rest of you, build a geographical profile. We need to catch this bomber quickly."

With that, the team was on it.

Little did they know, this was a big case and it was gonna get worse before it got better.

━━━━━━

While havoc was reeking in the city, Casey had moved from the bedroom to the couch to go and watch TV and to eat a jar of pickles. She had been in the middle of watching a movie from the late 1930s called The Shining Hour. To say that she was content with right now was an understatement. She loved this. It was a typically Sunday for her. Only thing that was missing was her boyfriend, Spencer Reid.

As she was enjoying her movie, there was a knock at the door. Curious, she paused her movie and stood up from the couch to go and answer the door. To her surprise, it was her grandmother - whom she wasn't expecting until next week. "Grams!" Casey smiled.

"Hello, darling!" The woman walks into the home but not before greeting her granddaughter with a hug. "I thought you weren't gonna be here until next week." Casey says. "I was, but I couldn't bare to go another week without seeing my granddaughter and my great-granddaughter!" Edith touches Casey's stomach as she speaks.

"Grams, I told you this like five times. We don't even know if it's gonna be a girl or a boy." Casey told. "You're still doing that thing where you don't know the gender?" Edith asks. "We wanna be surprised." Casey says.

"Speaking of which, how have you and the baby been?" Edith asks, sitting on the couch next to Casey. "Well, we had a bit of a scare last night. I fainted and I have a mini-condition which is normal for all women in pregnancy." Casey explained.

"Oh, my goodness. Are you two okay?" Edith asks. "We're fine. We just got back from the hospital today. Spencer's working and so is the rest of the team so I'm just... here." Casey stated. "Well, it's a good thing I'm here, then. The thought of you being alone is unsettling."

"I'm safe, Grams. I have my badge, my gun, I can... try and fight at least. I'm okay." Casey tells. "Is there anything you need?" Edith asks. "You could get me a hot pickle from the fridge." Casey smiles. "Coming right up." Edith stands and Casey decides to call Spencer to see what was up at work.

He hadn't called in about two hours since he was gone and she hadn't heard from him and all she wanted was to hear his voice.

Casey clicks on his contact and she hears the ringer finally shut off and his voice comes up. "Hello?" Casey smiles as she hears her boyfriend's voice. "Hey, doc. Just checking in. I haven't heard from you."

"Uh, yeah, just... just really busy." Casey could tell that he sounded off but then again, that was Spencer for you. "How are you? How's the baby?" Spencer questions, changing the subject. "Fine, we're doing fine. Uh, Grams is here, actually. She flew in today."

"That's great, I feel comfortable knowing you have someone to keep you company." Spencer admitted. "I'm glad that she's here, too." There is a beat and then Spencer had continued: "Well, I think I'm gonna go."

"Okay, well, I love you."
"I love you, too."

With that, the phone call ended and from Spencer's side, he felt guilty about not telling her about the case. But he knew that he couldn't.

JJ had taken notice of Spencer's anxiousness. "You okay?" She asked. "I just... I wanna tell her. But I can't because that puts us in jeopardy. But she's my..." Spencer stops. "And I can't let her get any more stress."

"Spence, Casey's fine. You know that she is. She'll be okay, she's Casey." JJ assured and Spencer nodded, hoping she was right and that Casey was okay.

At the same time, the team had discovered with the geographical profile, the bomber had been aiming for cities with the highest population in the state. It wouldn't make sense for the bomber to bomb Quantico next, unless the place had special meaning to the unsub. Hotch had ordered Garcia to compact a list of those who may have had an engineering or technician degree that could diffuse or infuse a bomb.

About an hour later, Edith and Casey had been bonding. Edith had even brought in a scrapbook of Casey's memories. The one scrapbook Casey thought that she had lost when she moved in with Gideon.

Casey had currently been looking through the book and Edith watched as the girl did so. "I can't believe this is where all those pictures of me growing up went. I thought they were all gone once I moved in with Uncle Gideon." Casey told.

"Nonsense, darling. You know I'm a bit of a material girl. Once your father was sentenced, I went by the apartment and grabbed all of the important things before they cleaned the whole place out. Of course I had to take the mementos with me."

Edith had pointed at a picture in the book. "That's you when you started riding a bike," Casey remembered the day and saw the little pink helmet placed on her head and the the pink overalls she was wearing. And the bangs her father insisted on cutting at that age. Edith pointed at another picture. "That's you when you were two months old."

"Oh, look how squishy I was!" Casey smiled. She then noticed a man holding her in the picture. "Is that Dad carrying me?" She asked.

"Oh, that's your grandfather." Casey raised her eyebrows, realizing just how similar her father and grandfather looked to one another and that the similarities were uncanny. "Grandpa Chris."

"He always knew you were gonna be something," Edith stated. "You were gonna be extraordinary, according to him and I believed it, too. And before we divorced and he died, he made sure you'd be getting into college."

"He always knew that being in the FBI was always such an important thing to me." Casey smiled. She'd remembered the last conversation they had over the phone about Casey getting into Berkeley and how she had finally made it. She remembered his laugh and the way he guffawed when Casey made a joke.

"Well, that's because you never stopped talking about it!" Edith joked and Casey laughed.

Edith turns the page and points at another one. "Here's one of you and your dad." Casey barely had any pictures of her and her dad. Since Casey had gotten pregnant, she had tried getting close to him again. It was hard to do because he was still in prison. "He was teaching me how to cook." Casey remembered.

"Do you have any little pictures of Spencer?" Edith asked in curiousness. "He has some lying around the house but I think his mom has a scrapbook full of everything of him. With two good-looking people like us, I'm sure our baby's gonna look great. And is definitely going to inherit his smarts." Casey chuckles.

━━━━━━

Garcia had called everyone to the roundtable room after finding more details. "There is one man that fits our profile, his name is Jeffrey Louis. He majored as a technician in Virginia State and get this — had threatened a local bus stop that there had been a bomb."

"But why Quantico? Does it have any special meaning to him?" Blake asked and Garcia did more digging. "Nope, nada." Garcia revealed.

"He may have had a partner," Spencer tells. "Could have him be taking the fall since he was the one that threatened."

"See if he had any friends that also majored as a technician." Morgan tells. "Need more parameters than that." Garcia told.

"He may act submissive and he may be having Louis think that he's the brains of the operation but he's not. He's smarter, may have a degree in psychology, late '30s to early '40s." Vivian listed and everyone looked at the woman in awe.

"Wow, Hudson, you are a perfect fit to our little gang. You are gonna love it here." Garcia stated. "Roger Edwards, 35, majored in engineering and get this — he has a restraining order from his professor, Dean Lawley, he had apparently threatened the guy saying, and I quote: 'I'll kill you but it won't be by own hands.'. And can you guess where he graduated from?"

         "Lemme guess, Georgetown?" Rossi asked.

"Rossi, Hudson, JJ, I'll have you talk to the professor. The rest of us will head to Roger Edwards' home." Hotch orders.

"Sending their addresses to your cellular devices right now." Garcia tells.

━━━━━━

Casey had finished going through her memories and Edith had gone to the restroom for a moment. When Casey stood up, she had felt a slight pain in her stomach and muttered out: "Ow."

She began to breathe in and out to calm her breathing and then realized the pain wasn't going away like it usually did. Casey then stood up and then she felt something splash beneath her. Casey didn't move and she didn't want to move. "Oh, no. Not here, not now."

Casey had realized that her water... just broke.

Casey called for her grandmother, who came at a moment's notice and she had helped Casey sit back down on the couch. "My due date is two weeks away. This baby is not ready to come out just yet." Casey breathed. Minutes passed once Edith called Casey's doctor.

"I just got off the phone with your doctor and she said don't move until she gets here."

"Did you try Spencer's cell?" Casey asked.

"I've tried three times already, darling."

Casey lets out a sigh. "Nope," She holds her hands up. "Pull me up!" Edith pulls the girl up. "What are you doing?" She asks.

"Going to Quantico." Casey waddles towards the door. "That's insane. You can't go anywhere. Not in that state!" Edith argues. "I am going to get the father of my baby. He needs to know that his baby is coming and he needs to be there for it."

"You don't even know where he is."
"The case is local."
"There could be lots of traffic."
"I have my badge, I'll be fine."

Casey puts her coat on and slips her slippers on. "Now, let's go." Edith tries to get Casey to stay. "Oh, you're not going anywhere, missy."

"Grams, do you wanna see the birth of your first great-grandchild or what?" With that, Casey begins to waddle away slowly and Edith follows the woman.

Meanwhile, as that occurs, Hotch, Morgan and Spencer had made it to Roger Edwards' home. When the coast was clear, they had discovered that Jeffrey Louis was duct-taped to a chair with a bomb duct-taped to his chest, ready to go off in seven minutes.

The bomb squad wouldn't have gotten there in time so the three had to figure out they were going to diffuse this bomb.

As this occurred, Casey had made her way to Quantico — by driving herself and her grandmother — and was surprised at the chaos eroding in the building. The first person she had seen was Garcia. "Casey?" The woman questioned and Casey was already out of breath. "Where... is Spencer?"

"He's s-still out." Garcia told.

"Why isn't he answering his phone? I've called— ahh!" Casey's pain is becoming excruciating and hard to handle. Garcia noticed Casey's pain and had a look of concern on her face as Edith made sure she wasn't going to fall. "Casey, what's the problem, what's up?"

"Her water broke." Edith told the woman and Garcia's eyes widen. "What?!" Garcia began to clap and chuckle. "Oh my gosh, this is thrilling!"

"Yeah, I need to go to the hospital but I needed to tell Spencer— Ahh!" Casey groaned in pain. "Don't worry, I will call Hotch to tell him right now." With that, Garcia and Edith help Casey to the car.

Garcia had dialed in Hotch's number and thankful to her silent prayers, Hotch answered. "Hotch." As Garci helps Casey in the car, she announces: "Baby alert! Casey just went into labor and Reid isn't answering his phone!"

Hotch looks over at Morgan and Spencer, who are trying to calm Jeffrey Louis down so they can take a look at how they need to dismantle the bomb. "We're kind of in the middle of trying to make sure this bomb doesn't blow up."

"Oh, God." Garcia has a worried expression on her face and Casey notices. "What? What's going on?" Casey questions. "Call me as quickly as you can afterwards. Okay? Afterwards!" Garcia hangs up the phone. "What's going on?" Casey questions once Garcia gets in the car.

"Just... the... case."
"What happened?"
"Uh," Garcia debated on telling her but the fact of the matter was, the woman could not keep a secret to save her life. "Reid has to... dismantle a bomb."

Casey's eyes widen and she slowly turns towards Garcia. "What?!"

As that occurred, Spencer had been studying the wires on the bomb and trying to figure out which one to cut. Hotch called Morgan over to tell him the news and luckily, Spencer was distracted by studying the wires.

"Garcia just called. Casey's going into labor." Hotch whispered to Morgan. "What?" His eyes widen and he looked over at Spencer. "We have to get Spencer to cut this wire carefully and to make sure it's the right one. If we tell him the news, it's gonna throw him off but we need to make sure he cuts the right wire. Casey's not losing the father of her child today."

"If red means 'A', blue means 'B' and green means 'C'—" Spencer muttered. "Kid, we got about two minutes left on that bomb. Now, I'm not rushing you but if you could make the timing stop, that'd be great." Morgan told. "I'm trying, Morgan."

"Green is the only one that differentiates from the American flag." Spencer says and he cuts the green wire — only for the bomb to go down to 30 seconds in timing. "Damn it." Morgan mutters.

"Reid, step back. I'll figure it out."
             "Morgan, it's a 50/50 shot."
"Yes, but you got more on the line than I do. You have a kid coming, I told Casey that I'd bring you back in one piece. And I'm keeping that promise."
"Red or blue." Spencer mutters and just as there's five seconds left on the timer, Spencer cuts the blue wire. And the bomb stops and the two men lean back in appreciation that they had stopped the bomb.
"Thank God." Morgan looks up at the sky and he pats Spencer on the back.

Hotch had received news that Hudson, Blake, Rossi and JJ had found the professor and that Roger Edwards was getting ready to kill him. Hudson had taken her shot and killed Edwards before he could kill the professor. Edwards had wanted revenge on his professor for telling him that to build a bomb was impossible and basically called him stupid. Louis was just a pawn in his game and didn't have anything to do with the crime.

The three had called an ambulance and as they watch it leave, Hotch pats Spencer on the shoulder. "Come on, you've got a baby that needs delivering." Hotch tells and Spencer is almost caught off-guard as Hotch does a little jog towards the car.

"What?" Spencer is dumbfounded. What did Hotch mean when he said he had a baby that needed delivering?
"Come on, let's go!" Morgan told and Spencer practically sprinted to the car.

━━━━━━

The three ran into the hospital, all still had their vests on. Spencer ran to receptionist desk. "Casey. Casey Willows." He tells but hears a scream just down the hall.
"Never mind!" He makes his way down the hall but not before Morgan shouts: "Good luck, kid!"

Spencer makes his way to the room and sees Casey in a hospital gown and in a hospital bed. Her doctor and grandmother are in the room.

"Casey!" Spencer says and Casey smiles at her boyfriend. "Spence!" He rushes over to her and kissed her lips. "Why didn't you answer your phone?" She questions.

"I was, uh, kinda busy." Spencer tells. "Are you
really—?" Casey chuckles, "Well, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't, now would I?" She breathes.

"I love you." Spencer tells. "I love you, too." Casey says back and Spencer looks at Casey's stomach and kisses it. "And I can't wait to meet you." Casey looks at her stomach, as well. "We both can't."

"Alright, Miss Willows. Get ready to push." The doctor tells. Casey grabs Spencer's hand. "Also," She begins to crush his hand. "You had to dismantle a bomb?!" She questions. "What are you? Crazy?"

"I'm sorry—"
"You idiot! What if you had blown up? You would've left me and the baby! Ahh!"

With that, Casey begins to push, with the help and encouragement of her grandmother and Spencer. She almost couldn't do it, but she did.

━━━━━━

The rest of the team had been in the waiting room, waiting for the news. They had seen the doctors and Edith exit the room so they knew the baby was here. Some paced, some anxiously waited but finally, Spencer had come out of the room and everyone stood and Spencer smiled very homely at them, like he was at peace. And trust me, he was.

"There's somebody I'd like you guys to meet." He tells and everyone begins to follow behind in the room.

Everyone was happy to have seen Casey in her new mother glow, holding a baby wrapped in a bright blue blanket. She had had a little boy.

"Hi," Garcia smiles as she whispers. "Oh, my goodness!"

Hotch looks over at Spencer and shakes his hand. "Congratulations." He tells. "Thank you." Spencer says.

JJ looks down at the baby and smiles widely. "Oh, Casey, he's beautiful. He looks just like Spencer." She chuckles and Spencer smiles at the response. "Especially with that sleepy little face he does." Morgan adds.

"Oh, baby genius." Garcia says, touching the baby's blanket. "This kid is gonna have a really high IQ, I hope you know that." Blake comments and the room chuckles.

"What's his name?" Rossi asked the million-dollar question. Spencer sits right next to Casey and she looks his way before telling the team her picked name.

"Well, we decided on Christopher Gideon Reid." Casey tells, proudly and Hotch looks at Casey and Spencer in some sort of shock. "Christopher was my grandfather's name and it's also the middle name of my father figure, Aaron Hotchner." Hotch smiled proudly at the two. "And Gideon, after my uncle, who brought me and Spencer together."

"How'd your grandmother react to the name?" Blake asked. "Oh, ecstatic." Casey tells.

"Hello, Christopher." Penelope smiled at the baby. "He's so tiny." JJ comments. "But he's gonna grow up big and strong just like his uncle Derek, huh?" Morgan jokes.

Spencer and Casey look at one another and Spencer decides to speak next. "Oh, yeah, we forgot to mention something. Derek, Penelope, we want you guys to be his godparents."

Both Morgan and Garcia look shocked and happy. "Really?" Morgan asks. "There's no one else we'd rather choose." Casey tells.

"Wow, I don't know what to—" Garcia interrupts Morgan. "Oh, Chocolate Thunder, I love it when you speak but you're gonna sound dumb if you say no to that face." They smile down at the baby's sleeping face.

Christopher was a perfect mix of Spencer and Casey. He had Spencer's button nose, Casey's eyes. He looked more like Spencer than Casey, though. Maybe it was newborn glow. Casey was content in this moment and nothing could ruin it.

"That's it," Casey looks Spencer's way. "You've officially made me the happiest girl in the world."

Rossi makes his way over to Casey and Spencer and the baby. "Uh, Casey?" He begins. "I was wondering... uh, it's been a long time since I've held one of... these, so... would it be alright if...?"

"Of course." Casey tells and carefully hands the baby over to Rossi.

Everyone smiles as they watch Rossi hold the baby. "Hello, Christopher." He greets softly in a tone that Casey had never heard before. "I'm Grandpappy Rossi." Everyone in the room laughs and Garcia and JJ both look like they're about to well up in tears.

"He's perfect." Garcia says, looking at the baby.

"So, I, uh, I guess this means we should get married." Spencer comments and Casey looks Spencer's way in confusion. "Huh?"

Spencer looks over at Morgan, who a few weeks ago prior, knew. "I waited for the perfect moment and this seems just right." He pulls out a small box.

Everyone, including Casey — is in utter shock. "Casey, you make me so happy. I am the happiest person in the whole galaxy when I'm with you. And I know that I'll be even happier now that I have you and our little miracle."

Casey cups her face in surprise. "I love you, Cassandra Willows. Will you do me the honor in marrying me?"

Granted, this is not how Spencer thought he would ask her. He wanted to do it more romantically, not while Casey was covered in baby goo and sweat. But he knew he probably wouldn't have done it in any other way. He just knew that he wanted the girl that was sitting in that hospital bed.

And Casey knew that nothing was gonna stop her now. She had the boyfriend that she loved, the baby she never thought she would have and a team she'd call her found family. With that, Casey knew the only right answer was: "Yes."

Spencer had put the ring on her finger and the two shared a kiss as the rest of the team cheered. "Yay!" Casey immediately shushed them. "Quietly! Quietly!"

━━━━━━

It had been around four a.m. and nearly everyone had gone home after Casey and Spencer assured everyone they were good and that everyone could leave.

And everyone did... for at least an hour.

Everyone ended up coming back and each decided to fall asleep in various parts of the room on chairs. Blake had gotten up to get a cup of coffee after realizing that she hated sleeping in those type of chairs. She had walked out of the room and down to the cafeteria and watched at the sun was perching up.

Blake had walked back to the room and had taken the sights of everyone sleeping. JJ had been seated near the door with Morgan and Garcia. JJ had her legs crossed and rested on Morgan's knees. Garcia had snored and rested her head on Morgan's shoulder and Morgan's head was perched on top of Garcia's head. All three of them shared a blanket.

Hotch and Rossi were in their seats on the the left side of Casey's bed, leaned back in their seats. Blake looked over to her empty seat next to Rossi's.

Casey was asleep in her bed, facing towards Spencer and holding his hand. Spencer was also sleeping soundly next to his now-fiancée and his hand was holding Casey's hand but the other hand was perched onto his baby's bassinet so that the baby knew he was there.

Blake smiled at the scene in front of her and saw the people that cared about her and the people that cared about Casey and Spencer. That's why they were here.

She decided to go on home.
