CHAPTER SEVEN: DANGER AHEAD !

CASEY KNEW THAT MEETING SOMEONE THAT YOU THOUGHT WAS YOUR STALKER IN AN INTERROGATION ROOM WASN'T IDEAL BUT THIS WAS THE PLACE THEY AGREED ON. Casey sat in between the thick walls and awaited for Cooper Rogers to arrive in his place.

As Casey stayed in place, she then noticed the door opened to the room and in walked Cooper and his lawyer. This had been the first time they'd seen each other since Casey had a stalker. They stood in silence for a minute until Casey broke the ice.

"You know, when you said you wanted to meet... I didn't think you'd mean an interrogation room." Casey stated. Cooper looked at the woman in front of him. She'd looked a bit different than when he last saw her. She was more confident, like she knew what she was doing. "I didn't wanna meet anywhere else." Cooper spoke.

Cooper had taken a seat in front of Casey and his lawyer stood in the corner of the room. "What do you want, Cooper?" Casey questioned.

Cooper sighed, "I wanted to talk more about that night." Casey looked down at the thought of that night and what she went through. It was still traumatized from it. No matter how hard she tried to erase the memories from her mind, she just couldn't. She remembered too much. "I understand you didn't know as much, didn't wanna know and I respected that." Cooper told.

Casey looked at the man and shook the hair away from her face and thought out loud. "So you come back three years later and for what?" She asked.

"To get you to listen," Cooper stated and Casey furrowed her brows and Cooper started to get into the details more. "Adam threatened me. Told me I'd be putting my family in danger and he'd kill me. I believed every second of it. Then, he offered me money. He offered over a million to act like I was stalking you. So you couldn't trail it back to him. The thing was, he had Lucy, so I had to oblige or he'd kill her." Casey knew that Adam threatened Cooper but she didn't know the extent of everything. He went through so much just by being a bystander.

Cooper looked down at his folded hands and he took a deep breath as he continued. "Lucy and I tried to move on. But she killed herself in the process. And everyone thought I did it. So I... accepted it. People thought I was a stalker, I was wrongfully framed and there was no coming back from that."

Casey felt bad for Cooper. He'd been through a lot, maybe even more than Casey had gone through in her sad life and that was saying a lot. Still, she didn't understand why Cooper needed to speak with her so urgently.

"What does this have to do with me? Why did you choose to see me?" Casey questioned.

Cooper looked at the woman and realized that he had gotten to where he needed to get in the story. "A little before I got out, I got a visitor. Told me that they were looking for you. Watching your every move... in hopes to get revenge. So, they asked someone that knew who you were, someone that had knowledge of that night. So they came to me. That's why I needed to talk to you." Casey's eyebrows furrowed as Cooper pulled a file out.

He pulled a picture out of a yellow envelope and handed it to Casey. "And once I got out... they sent me this."

Casey looked down at the picture and it was sight that scorched her brain before. A picture of a heart and maggots surrounded it. It was an exact replica of what was sent to her three years prior.

The Willows looked at the man in front of her as she realized that she would not be able to handle this again. It scared her, paralyzed her in the fear that she would be going through what she went through again for the second time. Hesitantly, she looked up at Cooper Rogers and asked the question she knew she was avoiding but knew that she had to ask. "Am I in danger?"

Cooper didn't even hesitate and answered: "Yes."

Casey exhaled and closed her eyes as she placed the picture down in front of her. She couldn't go through this... not again. She refused. "Your team... " Cooper spoke. "They can't get involved." He stated.

"What do you mean?" Casey questioned.

"They'll be after them if you try." Cooper told.

"What are you talking about?"

Cooper looked at his lawyer and then at his watch. "I gotta go. I've said too much already." Casey watched as he looked around in fear, as if someone was watching him when there was clearly no one around except for his lawyer.

"Wait, Cooper..." Casey tried but he was halfway out the door now. Cooper looked around. "If I could, I would." He frantically checked everything around him. "They're watching."

With that, Cooper left and Casey left soon after. Danger? The way he looked like he was afraid. Were they really being watched? Was there someone really out to get her? What did she do? She didn't understand. She was the victim in this situation. The fact that she was in danger, it made her bones shiver. She couldn't even think properly and nearly ran three red lights on the way to work. And the fact that she couldn't even tell her team what was wrong? It made her fear for her life, she told her team everything.

It made her think: if Cooper was being watched, was she being watched, too?

After a case that ended in Morgan getting shot in the bulletproof vest, the team had come back to the BAU, getting ready for their paperwork. Casey couldn't even bring her focus to that either.

She sat at her desk, staring down at the paper in front her, a million thoughts running through her mind. Spencer had taken notice of this, she'd been acting jittery this entire case. He knew it wasn't something he did, more like she was on edge, like she was... being watched.

Before Reid could go over and talk to her, Hotch had called the team to the round table room, claiming it was important. This was odd. He'd never call meetings like this. Casey and the rest of the team headed up to the roundtable and there stood Hotch with a file in his hand and Rossi alongside him.

Thus, with everyone in the room, Hotch began. "Yesterday, while we were in Florida, a body was found in the desert outside Las Cruces, New Mexico." Rossi continued, "A man had his leg amputated and replaced with the leg of someone else." That sounded like a case they took a couple of months ago.

"And, as you know, last month a body was found in Dallas with its mouth sewn shut, like The Silencer." Hotch stated. "What looked then to be a possible one-time copycat now has to be examined in a different light." Rossi told.

"Someone's out there mimicking the crimes we've solved." Morgan points. "That's how it looks." Rossi nods. "This is now an active case, which we'll be investigating along with our other cases." Hotch told, placing the files down.

Great, not only was Casey being stalked, so was the rest of the team — as well as her. Maybe this had something to do with that? Same stalker? It just made the shivers on Casey's back grow worse.

Casey took a deep breath, there was nothing she could do. She felt helpless. Little did she know, there would in fact... be danger ahead.
