CHAPTER NINE: ZUGZWANG !
8x12
━━━━━━
HERE IT WAS, THE SAME RECURRING NIGHTMARE SPENCER REID KEPT HAVING. He was in a black and white suit, standing at an altar and the team had been below them, smiling and giving him a thumbs-up and whatnot.
Standing in front of him was his beautiful girlfriend, Casey in a wedding dress and Garcia had been their officiator. And then Casey would stop the wedding and leave the altar. He didn't know why he constantly had this dream, he hadn't been thinking about marriage quite yet. And he knew for a fact Casey wasn't thinking about it either.
He woke up in his own apartment, slightly confused on why Casey's side of the bed was empty. That's weird, she usually stayed the whole night. He had assumed that maybe she had gone back home since Hotch told the team to take the day off.
With that, he'd decided to get some coffee for the two and go see her at her apartment complex. Once he arrived, he knocked and no one had answered. He knocked and stayed there for a least five minutes and still no one opened the door. He tried the doorknob and the door opened. Casey would never leave her door unlocked like that.
He opened the door and looked around and what he saw made him slightly freak out. The table had been broken, along with glass from a vase and there was a bit of blood on the floor. A portrait picture of Casey when she graduated from the academy had been broken as well. "Casey?" He called as he looked around the apartment and she was nowhere to be found.
Spencer's cell began to ring and he picked it up. "Hello." He asked. "Hello. I have a call from..." Suddenly, a computerized voice popped up. "Adam Worth." The operator came back up. "Do you accept the charges?" The voice spooked Spencer. But he didn't hesitate when he answered: "Yes."
"Go ahead with your call, please." There's a beep while Spencer is slightly panicking. "Hello. I'm still here." The computerized voice comes back and utters a single word: "Zugzwang." Spencer took a pause and breathed. "I'm sorry, can you please repeat that?"
"Zugzwang." The line disconnects.
Panic rising in him, Spencer urgently called Hotch and told him to meet him in the BAU because he suspected that something had happened to Casey. And little did he know, that was the case.
Spencer had waited for Hotch to arrive to the BAU and met up with his office. "I got here as quickly as I could. What's wrong?" Hotch told as he walked up the steps. "I think Casey's missing." Hotch's heart dropped as he pulled Reid into his office.
"What do you mean Casey's missing?" Hotch questioned. "Her apartment's trashed, a table's broken, some pictures. And she's been acting antsy lately." Hotch looked down in realization. Casey had been acting off lately. Like she feared someone was watching her every move. And someone was.
"Has she told you anything? Anything about someone following her? Has she been in contact with anyone recently?" Hotch asked and Spencer shook his head. "Then I have to ask you, how do you know she's missing? Maybe she left her apartment a mess, she always does." Spencer shook his head again. "Not like that."
"Before we told everyone we were together, we always addressed our letters to pseudonyms. In case it fell into the wrong hands." Reid revealed. Those first few months, Casey and Reid secretly sent each other little love notes. Sometimes, they'd stop by each other's desks and drop a little note and go back to their desks.
Hotch looked at the paper in front of him. "And you're Dr. Joseph Bell?" He asked and Spencer nodded. "The real-life inspiration for Sherlock Holmes. And that codename is how I know she's in trouble. The voice on the phone identified himself as Adam Worth. That was the American criminal that Arthur Conan Doyle based the character of Moriarty on." Reid explained.
"And what did he say to you?" Hotch asked.
"Zugzwang," Reid responded. "It's a chess term. It describes the point in a game when a player realizes he'll inevitably be checkmated. He has to decide whether to resign or to play through to the bitter end." Hotch looked at the man. "If you're right about this, then you're part of his victimology, too." Reid nodded and Hotch called the rest of the team in for this new case that involved one of their own.
Spencer felt paralyzed with fear and couldn't even look at the team. "He thinks he'll get away with this, and he might. I have a wealth of knowledge I should be applying to this case. Behavioral patterns of violent stalkers. Tactical recovery strategies, victim survival odds. But right now I can't focus on anything more than four seconds at a time. All I can think of is her. Which makes me the dumbest person in the room. So... please help me. Help me find Casey." Reid told.
The team looked at one another. "We don't know if we have a case. So we'll be working on personal time." Hotch told. "This is Casey we're talking about. We should be looking right now." Morgan decided. "I agree." JJ nodded and so did the rest of the team.
After trying to figure out what Casey was doing in her free time, Hotch sent JJ and Morgan to her apartment to check out what Reid found. They walked into the apartment - reliving almost three years prior when she first went missing. "This is definitely a crime scene." JJ pointed out as she shook her head.
"Must have been a hell of a fight." Morgan stated. "Smash... then hit." JJ told as she looked. "There's no sign of forced entry. Casey was on high alert." Morgan stated and JJ nodded, "Exactly."
"Then how did this unsub get her to let her guard down?" Morgan questioned and JJ took a deep breath. "Since Emily's been gone, she goes to me with everything. What was she keeping secret that she couldn't tell anyone?" She asked and Morgan shook his own head. "It could be anything... but until then, I'm more focused on the son of a bitch that took her." Morgan told and JJ nodded in agreement.
━━━━━━
Casey opened her eyes and saw that there was a bag wrapped around her head. She began to question what happened for it to lead up to here. She agreed to meet with someone that was a lead detective to help her out with this and next thing she knew, she was trying to throw punches and blacked out.
She began to struggle and came to the conclusion that she was tied up in a chair. Suddenly, the bag was removed from her head and all she could see was the dark. "Hello?" She called out. "Look, whoever you are, get me the hell out of this chair!" Casey yelled.
Suddenly, a light turned on and appeared a young guy, he looked her age, maybe younger. Dark hair, dark eyes, dressed in plaid, looked built enough. "If I were you, I wouldn't struggle." He spoke. "Get me out of here!" Casey yelled as the guy appeared closer. He looked sympathetic for her and was looking around like he didn't want to be caught. "Look, you could get out of this alive..." He looks behind him as he whispers. "If you just listen to her."
Casey furrowed her eyebrows. "Who? Listen to who?" The guy was beginning to leave. "Hey! Come back! Listen to who?! Hello?!" She yelled.
Meanwhile, as Casey tried to figure out who was after her, the team had figured out that Casey had met up with Cooper and they were now going to his apartment to talk with him. Spencer was irritated with the situation to say the least. He couldn't believe Casey lied to him. Casey wouldn't do that. That's why she was distant.
Hotch, Morgan, Rossi and Spencer had gone to Cooper and Spencer was getting a little snippy with Cooper and so Hotch sent him out.
As Spencer paced back and forth, Cooper's new girlfriend, Diane had gone downstairs and met with Spencer. "Excuse me, Doctor." Spencer turned back to the woman. "Agent Hotchner said he was done with me upstairs. Can you tell me what's going on?" She asked and before Spencer could respond, Morgan had come downstairs.
"We'll be in touch, ma'am." Morgan spoke and the woman looked at Morgan. "Thank you." With that, she walked away and Morgan noticed Spencer's behavior. "All right, kid, talk to me. I can tell you're adding something up in your head. What is it?"
"Seven years, four months and eleven days," Reid responded. "That's how many years that we've known each other." He told. "That's a lot of years, kid. Can't erase history." Morgan replied. "What if that's all I get?" Spencer asked. "Well, it's not." Morgan shook his head. This wasn't the Reid he knew. "You can't say that." Reid said.
"Yes, I can," Morgan said. "Because when we find her alive and you finally get to lay your eyes on her, what's the first thing you're gonna say to her?" Morgan asked and Reid thought about it. "Over a month ago, we finished a case and she was rushing towards the elevator and she looked at me and she said, 'Bye. Love you.' Just like that. 'Bye. Love you.'" The moment replayed in Reid's head. "I know it was just a slip, but--"
"But she said it, Reid." Morgan interrupted. "She said it." Reid nodded at his words. "You didn't say it back to her, did you?" Morgan figured. "I was waiting for the right time." Reid told.
━━━━━━
Casey had dozed off and heard someone calling her name. She opened her eyes and saw Cooper, tied up in front of her, his head covering in blood. "Casey... Casey." He muttered. "C-Cooper?" Casey asked. "How'd you...?" Casey's head ached and she looked towards Cooper again. "What are you doing here?"
"I don't know," Cooper looked around. "I'm sorry I got you in this mess." He told. "I got myself into it." Casey looked around next. "Hello?! Come on! Show yourself, asshole!" Casey yelled.
The guy from before came rushing in. "Keep your voice down!" Casey began to yell once more. "Who the hell are you?! Why are we here? Give me some goddamn answers!" Casey tried to struggle out of her chair.
Suddenly, a woman came walking in. "You're even louder than I remember." She had red hair, she looked a little older but Casey recognized her... from a long time ago. It was someone she hadn't seen in years. Someone she thought would be forgiving and understanding but she was wrong leading to this moment in time.
Casey's eyes widen. "Oh my God, Bay?"
Here she was, Bay Brody — sister of Adam Brody. Someone Casey thought she could trust.
The woman chuckles, "In the flesh." Bay approaches the man from before. "Come on, Seb, you couldn't keep her quiet for another hour?" Bay complains and the man, Seb, looked at the woman sheepishly. "Sorry."
"W-Why-Why are you—? Of all people." Casey shook her head.
"You killed my brother," Bay spoke. "What was I supposed to do? Just let you live?" Casey looked down. "Live knowing what I did, I thought you would." The woman grabbed Casey by the back of her hair. "Don't make me empathize for you."
Another woman had walked in and Bay looked towards the dark-haired woman, also known as Diane. "No one followed you?" Bay questioned. "Made sure." Diane nodded and looked towards Cooper. "Hey, baby."
"Why are you doing this? Why here? Why now?" Copper questioned. "Her little boy toy was catching on," Bay spoke, turning towards Casey. "A little too quick, might I add. And with the anniversary coming up and the fact that Cooper Rogers had gotten off on parole for something you didn't even know he was in jail for... and that you were investigating him and wanted to find out more about why Adam kidnapped you... I figured this would've been the perfect timing to bait you." Bay explained.
Casey shook her head. She knew that Adam and Bay were close growing up. She couldn't help but feel apologetic for what she did. "I loved my brother. And you took him away from me!" Bay yelled in Casey's face. "He was the only family I had left and just because you didn't have family, didn't mean you needed to shatter everybody else's!"
"You don't know what he put me through!" Casey argued. "He was in love with you!" Bay shouted. "He was obsessed! He was going to kill me and he was going to kill my... my friend... if I didn't do anything." Casey told.
"Your friend," Diane spoke. "Your boy toy. He was involved, wasn't he?" Casey looked down and remembered the events of that night and Spencer getting thrown in that room with her. "Yeah." Casey muttered in a whisper.
"But that was before he was your boy toy, right?" Bay asked. Casey shook her head. "It's not the point."
"It is so the point." Diane nods and pulls a gun out, making Casey freak out a bit internally. "You know I couldn't understand it. Adam could do so much better than someone who's hard to love and I've known you long enough to know that you're somebody who's hard to love." Bay interjected.
"After hunting you for 10 months, we had to stop and say, what is so freakin' special about her? I couldn't see it.
Until I saw him." Diane told.
"Him who?" Cooper asked.
"I followed her. And I saw him. I want what they have. I want him." Diane told. "Really, Diane, that's why you're doing this? Because of that stupid FBI agent?" Bay questioned. "That stupid FBI agent is he reason why he's still alive." Bay points towards Cooper with the gun.
"You're gonna get her to tell me about him." Diane tries. "Doesn't matter." Cooper said. "I know. But that wasn't a request." Diane tells.
"This is so ridiculous. Is this why you kidnapped me? Been stalking me?" Casey questioned, her patience running thin. "No, she's just getting off topic. Diane, back to the point." Diane spun around towards Bay. "You don't get it. I want to see what he sees." Diane looked back at Casey.
"He sees you as his equal. That's it, isn't it? I just-- I have to let him see that I'm on your level." Diane tells. "Alright, that's enough." Bay tells. "You figured it out. Now, please, will you let us go?" Cooper questions.
Diane looked up. "No. No. I have to show her that I can take everything that she has. Then she's going to remember me. You, however, are superfluous." Diane spins Cooper's chair around and Bay spins Casey's around so their backs are facing.
"I'm sorry, Cooper. You've always been the runner-up in this pageant." Diane says. "Say hi to Adam for me." Bay tells. As Cooper begged for his life, Casey remained stiff and silent — only muttering 'don't hurt him' as he was shot and the gunfire echoed in Casey's ears as they rung.
━━━━━━
Casey looked up at the man — Seb — and watched as he cleaned Cooper's blood up. Casey felt numb. She didn't know if they were drugging her but there were gaps in time. Casey watched the man and felt sorry for him as he mopped up the blood. Maybe she could negotiate with him, get him to let her go and get him out of her if she could.
"You know, you don't have to do this." Casey spoke. "I could get you out of here. My team, they could help you. I promise you, we're good at what we do." Seb shook his head as he sniffled. "I can't. They're listening."
"I've seen how they treat you. Like a pet, a pawn. You don't deserve that. No one does. Why don't you just leave?" Casey questioned and Seb stopped mopping and looked at Casey. "Because they're the only thing I have that's close to family." Seb told.
Casey had seen the door open and Diane and Bay had walked in. Diane had a knife and cut the binds off of Casey's chair and wrists and all four headed up to the roof of the building they were in. Diane had a gun pointed to Casey's back. "What are we doing up here?" Casey questioned.
"Get up there!" Diane pressured Casey towards the ledge. "Why?" Casey questioned. "So you could push me to my death? No, I'd rather you face me instead of not doing it like a coward." Casey told. "No one's pushing you, but if you wanna be a smartass about it—"
"Diane." Casey heard Bay's voice. "Give me the gun." Diane looked back at Bay. "What?" Bay stared down Diane. "Give me the gun. Now." It was obvious that Bay was the master of the plan, she was pulling the strings around here. Diane was a puppet and Seb was a pawn. "Get up on the ledge now." Bay ordered.
Casey took a deep breath and silently prayed, hoping she wouldn't fall over at any given moment. She stood on the ledge in fear. Her fear of heights wasn't doing so well at the moment.
"Seb, you're good at archery, right?" Bay asked.
"I-I-I guess." Seb repsonded.
"Here's your bow," Bay told. "Try to shoot the target."
Seb looked at the woman. "What?"
"Try making a target at her, dumbo." Diane told.
"Just kill me now." Casey told.
"Shut up." Bay stated.
Casey turned over and saw that Seb was aiming the bow at her. "Seb, shoot at her now." Seb looked at the women. "What?" Diane looked at the man. "Shoot her. Put her in pain." Diane ordered.
Out of fear, Seb let go of the arrow but missed and barely hit Casey. "Come on, Seb, don't let us down." Diane ordered. Seb looked at Casey in fear and came to the realization to not run away and to face the fears.
"No." Seb points the arrow towards Bay. "'No'?" Bay looked at the man in disbelief. "What are you gonna do? You gonna shoot me? Like you have the balls." Bay pushed. "Don't make me do this." Seb told. "You won't!"
Before Seb could make a move, a gunshot is fired and Seb lands on the ground but not before checking the blood seeping through his clothes. Diane shot Seb. "No!" Casey yelled and got off the ledge.
"Get back on the ledge. Now!" Diane pointed the gun at Casey. "No. If you're gonna kill me, you kill me. But I am not jumping." Casey yelled. "Because I wanna live long enough to see my team arrest you."
Casey closed her eyes as the gun stayed aimed at her chest and Diane glared at her. Beeping is heard and Bay checked her phone and speaks up. "Spencer has a different idea." She holds her phone up and shows Diane a webcam footage of Spencer holding a piece of paper up that says: "Me for her".
They make their way back to the main building and Bay ziplocks Casey to the chair and Diane calls Spencer. "Hello?" Casey asked. "It's me." Casey's relieved to hear Spencer's voice. "Are you okay?"
"They killed Cooper," Casey's eyes filled with tears and she sniffles. "They killed him right in front of me." Spencer didn't care to hear about Cooper, he only cared for Casey and Casey only. "Are you okay?"
Casey kept her calm. "Yeah. I've got a concussion and some bruising, but I'm okay." She revealed. "Can I talk to her?" Spencer asked, referring to Diane. "She's listening." Casey tells.
"Good. But I want to meet her. I need to see her face to face." Spencer says. "She has a message she wants me to give you." Casey tells. "What is it?"
"The message is, she left you a present. And if you want to find it, it's easy as pie." Casey tells. "What does that mean? I don't understand what that means." Spencer says.
"Neither do I," Casey says. "Spencer, she's crazy, you've gotta get me out here, she's gonna kill me—" Diane hangs up.
━━━━━━
Bay had stayed hidden in the back as Diane had lured Spencer in the building without his vest or his gun. Casey watched as they walked in and Spencer had a blindfold over his eyes.
Diane led Spencer in his chair and he wasn't allowed to take the blindfold off. He was seated in front of Casey. "Casey?" Spencer asked. "Hi." Casey spoke and Spencer sighed in relief to hear his girlfriend's voice.
"I was hoping you'd figure out my riddle," Diane told as she put a hand down Spencer's shirt. "I mean, I knew you would. The fun was just how fast you'd do it. All this and brains, too." Casey shook her head in disgust, watching this woman put her hands on her boyfriend as such.
Bay had been watching nearby and made her entrance. "Alright, that's enough. Why are you here? What's your game?" Bay questioned.
"Well, I'm here because I'm not going to leave... Diane. I'm here because... I just hope that I get the chance." Diane looked at Reid. "Chance at what?" She asked. "To be with you. Me for her. That was the deal, right?"
Spencer was lying, Casey knew he was. She was just hoping it was working for Diane. "You're choosing me over her?" Diane asked in disbelief. "Diane, how could it be anyone else?"
"Prove it."
"All right. How?"
"Say it again. This time say it to her face." Diane removed the blindfold from Spencer's eyes and once Spencer sees Casey, he feels helpless. Helpless that he can't save her right now. Hold her, hug her, tell her it was gonna be okay and that he loved her. He feared it wouldn't happen.
Instead, Spencer looked at Casey painfully and stated: "I don't love you. Sorry." Casey knew it was an act but hearing those words come out of Spencer's mouth were painful and they cut deeper than a knife. Casey held it together and spoke: "I understand."
"I don't need her anymore." Diane told and held the gun to Casey's head and the girl closed her eyes. "Well, I do." Bay told. "This may have been something different to you but it's something important to me. You can keep him, I have her. If you let her live with her irrelevancy, then that's another one-up. You have your man." Bay argued.
"Fine," Diane told and cut one of the binds off of Casey. "I just want her to see one more thing." Diane walked over to Spencer leaned over and began to kiss him. Casey rolls her eyes and Diane had started noticing that Spencer wasn't kissing back and came to the realization that he was a... "Liar."
"Liar!" Diane aimed the gun at Reid but he pointed it upwards and Casey tries to struggle out of the binds. Bay tries to come towards her but Casey kicks her in the face and tries to get out of the chair and successfully does so and she grabs the gun that Bay dropped on the ground and shoots Bay on the spot. She aimed right at the chest and Bay fell backward. Casey couldn't help but feel sorry for the woman, even if she wanted to make her life a living hell for what she did to Adam.
Casey is distracted by this when suddenly, Spencer is shot right where his chest is. "Spencer!" Casey practically screamed. "Shut up. Shut up!" Diane grabs Casey and holds a gun to her head.
Casey noticed as her team has made it up to the building. "Stay back, stay back!" Spencer yells. "Spencer!" Casey shouts. "Put the gun down, Diane. You don't want this."
"Diane, Diane, there's still a way out of this." Spencer tries. "You never wanted me. Never! You lied!" Diane yells. "I didn't. Diane, I offered you a deal and you can still take it. Me for her. Let me take her place."
"You would do that?"
"Yes."
"You would kill yourself for her?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
There's a pause.
Reid admits, "Because I love her." Casey's eyes widen at his words.
Diane had come to the realization that what Spencer and Casey had was strong and she could never compete with it and if nobody could have Spencer, no one could.
"No." Diane held the gun to her head.
"Wait!" Spencer shouts.
"No!" Casey suddenly moved quick and moves the gun down and suddenly, a bullet is shot right towards her thigh. "Ahh!" Casey yells in pain and she lands on the ground.
Casey looks down at her leg and sees the blood pouring. She hadn't realized that Diane landed dead next to her due to the team shooting at her. "Casey!" Spencer shouts and rushed towards her.
"We need a medic." Hotch says into his mic.
Morgan makes his way over to Casey next to Reid. "Ace, you okay?" He asks. "I didn't think you were... you were gonna show up." Casey mutters out.
"Of course I would've." Spencer says.
Casey's eyes fluttered and the pain was becoming unbearable to handle. "Hey, hey, keep your eyes open." Morgan took notice of Casey's eyes. "Just keep looking at me, okay?" Spencer took her hand into his and had Casey squeeze his hand. "Just keep looking at me."
As this happened, JJ looked around for something she could use to cover and keep pressure on the bleeding. "For God's sake, we need a medic! She's bleeding to death!" Blake shouts.
Casey looked towards Spencer. "She was gonna—"
Spencer nodded, "I know, I know." He put a hand on Casey's hair and stroked her hair in comfort. "If I don't make it—" Casey coughed out.
"Hey, hey, hey, don't say that." Spencer shook his head.
"I need to know that I said it." Casey said.
"You will say it. Okay? You will say it." Spencer said.
Casey had shut her eyes, just resting them and she could only hear Spencer repeatedly calling her name. Everything went black.
━━━━━━
Casey had stirred awake in a hospital bed and blinked a couple of times before she realized she was in one. She looked over to her right and saw JJ sitting over by her side and JJ looked up and realized she was awake and a small smile appeared on her face. "Hey." She spoke softly.
Casey looked around and noticed that Spencer wasn't there and neither was anyone else. "Where's—?" She asked. "I sent him to the cafeteria," JJ answered. "Everyone else is there to ease his mind. I promised him I would stay."
The Willows looked around and saw the IVs and the stats of her heart rate. "How long was I out for?" She asks, facing JJ. "A day." JJ told truthfully.
Casey closes her eyes. "I thought I—"
"We did, too." JJ told and Casey began to try to sit up and JJ advised: "I wouldn't sit up."
Casey checked under the blankets and sees the bandage on her thigh. Casey sits back and looks up at the ceiling. "Are they... gone?"
"They both are," JJ told. "They're not gonna hurt you anymore." Casey scoffed, "Well, she already did. Too late."
"He hasn't left since they brought you in." JJ tells, mentioning Spencer to the girl and Casey took a deep breath. Of course he wouldn't leave her side.
JJ carried on. "Do you remember anything?"
"Bay took me and she baited me. She told me she was a detective who had info on Cooper. I thought she was someone else. It was her easy access to me. She was watching me. And she said I killed her brother. That I may as well had killed her, too." Casey looks up, trying to remember what other things she could've missed. "And I remember you guys coming in and telling me to keep my eyes open. But after that, it just got a bit fuzzy."
JJ looked down before revealing one more thing to Casey. "Your heart stopped." Casey looked at JJ in disbelief. "For a moment it did." That would explain the dark turning into the light she saw and from feeling cold to feeling warm.
Casey acknowledged what JJ said and carried on, wanting to move on from the fact that she did in fact die for a minute. "How is he?" She asked.
"He barely slept," JJ told. "And didn't leave until we told him to. We practically forced him out the door." JJ told and Casey looked back down at the leg. "What's the news on my leg?"
"They were sure that you wouldn't be able to walk again because of where you were shot. But, the doctor says that you'll be able to with lots of PT." JJ told.
Casey sighed and looked towards the woman again. "Can you go get him?" She asked and JJ nodded, "Yeah."
Casey waited as JJ headed down to the cafeteria that wasn't too far from Casey's room. "Spence." JJ called a slumped-over Spencer and he looked over at JJ and the woman smiled and nodded at him and Spencer immediately knew what that meant.
He dropped his coffee cup on the table and immediately stood and rushed to Casey's room. Once he arrived in the room, he saw his girlfriend, looking more beautiful than ever — even in a hospital bed.
"Case-Casey." Spencer muttered. Casey sat up a bit. "Hey." She smiled. It impressed Spencer, even if she was in a lot of pain, she managed to smile. He admired that about her.
"Are you okay?" Spencer asked. Casey shrugged, "I'm in a lot of pain but I'm still standing. Well, not really." She joked a bit.
Spencer looked down. "I was scared." He admitted and Casey put a hand on Spencer's face. "So was I." Spencer took Casey's hand from his face and held it.
The rest of the team walked in and Casey had greeted them and conversed with them as well and all of them hoped that she was feeling okay.
"Pretty Boy would've never found out if you didn't send that message to him." Morgan revealed, slapping Spencer on the back.
Casey furrowed her brows. "Message?"
"Zugzwang," Spencer told. "The message you sent me."
"Spencer, I never sent any message." Casey shook her head. The team looked confused but Casey looked even more confused. "Yeah, you did." Spencer said.
"Not me." Casey shook her head once more.
"Then, how did—?"
Little did they know, the rest of the team would be going through something just as sinister as this. Casey was sure that it was purely a coincidence but her gut feeling was telling her otherwise. Who was this other stalker? Were they all being watched?
