Tango

Jason and Jasper's uncle was on his way over to reveal the information he found on Sophie. Jas spoke to us the other day about his concerns when it came to her.

If you ask me I been getting this weird vibe from the girl but I never said nothing because she had been their nanny every since Jewel was born.

Jurianna and I were laying in the bed watching tv as I rubbed on her growing belly. It was like everyday her stomach grew bigger and bigger but I would never tell her that. She'd probably try to stab my ass.

"Baby do you think we're ready to be parents?" She asked in a soft voice

"Yes, you're not ready?" I asked as I looked down at her.  Hell it was to late now if she wasn't but I still wanted to know where her head was.

"I'm just scared. What if I'm not a good mom?" She poked her lip out.

"You will be a great mom and I will be a great dad" I assured her as I kissed her forehead.

She smiled and snuggled into me. "Thank you daddy. Who would've ever thought we would come this far?"

"You're welcome. I knew we would." I shrugged. "Just how you were telling Ri I would be your husband, I was telling Luckie young ass that shit too"

She giggled. "I still don't know how y'all was so close being that y'all are 4 years apart."

"Cause that lil nigga was bad as shit. Running around blocks snatching up anything, trying to follow behind me and the other guys in our hood. Although now that I'm older this shit seem stupid, it was more comfortable for me to take him under my wing. This way I was always able to watch his back." I shrugged.

This was true, I was in the streets from the time I turned 13 all the way until I was 21.  I met Luckie when I was 16 and he was 12. One night his ass ran up on a crew that was on a corner across from us and tried to rob all they ass with this big ass cowboy looking gun.

They tried to jump lil bro til I stepped in. I had seen him around the hood before and since we came from the same hood I wasn't going for it. Long story short I ended up pistol whippin me a nigga that night and from there he was running with me.

"Baby when do you wanna have the wedding?"  Jurianna asked jolting me out of my thoughts.

"It don't matter to me, you're due in February so like August?" I asked.

"That's fine with me. I pretty much have it all planned out, I will just need to find dresses and tux for the bridal party and your groomsman" she yawned.

"You tired?"

"A little bit, I'm liking our convo"

I chuckled; "Do you know what you wanna name the twins?"

"Yes, I was thinking Amira Reign and Amir Raheem, what do you think?"

"I like those names. My last name right?" I nodded.

"Of course crazy" she giggled.

About 20 minutes later Jas came over the intercom; "Aye Tango and Luck, meet us in the office"

I looked down at Juri and she was knocked out lightly snoring. I kissed her forehead and slowly slid out of bed, careful not to wake her.

I pulled my shirt on, exited the room, and walked downstairs. I made my way to the basement door and headed to the office.

I walked in to see everyone here; Mani was sitting in Jase lap, Ri was sitting next to Jas, Luckie was whispering in Toya's ear, and Unc was wrapping up a phone call. I took my seat and placed my arms behind my head.

"Alright so I ran Sophie's name" Unc started. We all looked at him intently waiting for him to continue.

"She's the daughter of a low level drug dealer by the name of Keith Roberts. He use to be the man back in the day but fell off when his side chick robbed him dry."

"What does this have to do with us?" Jase asked

"I'm getting there nephew. So he had a family in Atlanta he kept a secret, pretty much like you Jason.  He had a wife and two daughters; Keanna and Keasia."

"Oh hell nah" Toya said.

"And this bitch been watching my kids" Mani said getting ready to get up but Jase pulled her back down onto his lap.

"Calm down, let him finish."  Jason replied nodding for him to continue.

"Sophie is the product of his current relationship with a lady by the name of Sonya. It was heard through the great vine that the first time anyone had ever seen her was at Keasia's memorial service"

"This bitch clearly has a death wish" Ri mumbled.

"I'm not for this shit again! And I'm damn sure not finna play with her when it comes to my kids!" Mani replied as her leg bounced up and down.

"Preciate it Unc, to be honest I don't wanna hear nothing else." Jason stated.

"I haven't even got to the good part though" he explained. We all watched him pull papers out of a folder. On the pieces of paper were pictures of screenshots of text messages.

"I KNEW IT" Jasper said as he pounded his fist on the table. "I knew she was the rat"

"Imma kill her" Mani, Toya, and Ri said all in unison.

*knock knock knock*

Everyone turned towards the door. "Come in" Jason spoke slowly.

"Dad, Sophie's in your room" JJ said as he opened the door. They all jumped up and ran into the security room to look at the cameras.

"Good looking out JJ" Jason said as he walked by him.

"I'm going back with Rel and Jewels. I'm not feeling to comfortable"

Mani squatted in front of him; "what's wrong mommy's man?"

"I don't know mama, I just feel weird" he replied furrowing his eyebrows.

"Look at me JJ. Everyone is here with you so you don't have to worry so much. We will protect you. Tell mommy what's wrong"

"I just don't like Sophie mama." He shrugged.

"Has she done anything to you, your sister, or cousin?" She asked looking into his eyes.

He shook his head;  "No, she just always looking at us mean" he replied furrowing his eyebrows.

Mani smirked because she was thinking of how much he looked like his father right in this moment.

"Okay baby, go get your sister and cousin and go into the room with TeeTee J. Mommy and daddy will handle it."

Mani watched him walk back up the stairs and headed into the security room. "What this snake ass hoe doing?" She asked.

"She's just looking around the room. Ion know what she searching for cause ain't shit here" Jason stated.

"So what we finna do? Kill her or what?" Toya asked.

"We gone continue to play like we don't know shit, see how far she go with this shit. Everybody just stay on y'all toes. Keep these kids together and in ya eye sight"  Jason explained.

All the women turned to him mugging him. If looks could kill, he'd me dead for sure!

"Jase you gotta talk to JJ, let him know that now that we are all home he doesn't need to be so protective." Mani stated, as she took a deep breath trying to calm her nerves. She was literally shaking.

"Okay, imma talked to him. I do still want him looking after them especially since this bitch right under our nose. We need all the eyes. Plus I have a feeling she's gonna try to go for the weakest link and right now that's the kids and Jurianna."

"I'll be damned. I'll kill her ass before the thought even arises"  Tango said mugging.

What the others didn't realize was that he and Luckie lived this life years ago as teenagers. They did everything from being corner boys, stick up kids, right hand men, hitmen; you name it, they've done it. It was nothing for him to kill.

"We have cameras everywhere, so I will assign Bruno to sit in here and watch over the cameras." Jasper explained.

"So how long we suppose to play dumb?" Ri asked

"Not for long, just play it cool sis. I promise I won't let anything happen to anyone" Jason explained.

"All I'm saying is, if she touch my cousin or my niece or nephews y'all not gonna be able to stop me from killing her. And that's on me!" Ri explained as she exited the room and went upstairs.
