Camari

This was my last weekend here in Atlanta so the girls decided to take me out with the exception of Juri since she just had the babies. I was in the guest bedroom at Mani and Jase's house getting ready.

After taking care of my hygiene I decided to throw on black and white leggings that had sheer at the bottom, a white hologram like bandeau top, a green bubble coat, black sneakers, and a crossbody bag that matched my leggings.

I took my dreads out last week so I decided to wear my curly wig. Sitting at the vanity in the room I debated on if I wanted to wear make up or not. Finally making up my mind I decided to go with a natural look. I sprayed my hair with water and leave in conditioner and checked myself out in the mirror.

Once I was satisfied I headed downstairs, Mani was in the kitchen finishing up lunch for the kids. "Hey cousin what we doing today" I asked her as I gave her a side hug.

"Hey boo, we gonna go to the mall and go grab a bite to eat with the girls" she replied as she fixed their plates. She made them chili cheese dogs and added some chips on the side.

She called them in to eat and as usual they came flying into the kitchen. As she headed to get ready I chilled on the couch and watched tv. About an hour later she was finished and came downstairs. "Come on girl cause we running late"

I laughed because this bitch never on time for anything. She would be late to her own funeral if she could. We walked outside and were about to hop in her white G Wagon. "Let me snap a pic of you real quick" I told her. She posed for me and I snapped a few pictures.

"You cute, you cute" I giggled. I hoped in the car and we headed to Perimeter Mall. Toya and Ri were already here so we just met them inside.

"It's about time y'all hoes got here" Toya joked.

"It's ya friend fault, she wanted to take forever to get ready." I laughed.

"Whatever honey" Mani replied rolling her eyes.

I waved my hand at her. "Y'all look ccuuttee" I smiled.

"Thanks boo" they said in unison.

We shopped for about 2 hours as we laughed and talked. The girls talked about their new business and how they had to look for a good office space soon. I admired each of these women for various reasons.

Despite everything they had been through within the last year things were really working in their favor now. I also loved how they stayed by their men sides when things looked shaky. Most women would've been left after all that has happened.

Hopefully I can find me a good man one day that will love me as much I see these men love their women. As of now that was just wishful thinking because I was so focused on school I didn't have time to go on dates.

"Mari, what's your major?" Ri asked me as we headed towards the Michael Kors store.

"My major is Accounting" I replied proudly.

She smiled and nodded; "when do you graduate?"

"In May"

"Bbeettt so would you like to come work with us at the company?" She asked.

I smiled widely; "Yes I'd love too!"

They all stopped and looked at me. "You sure?" Mani asked. "We don't want to derail any plans you had for after graduation"

I shrugged; "I really didn't have a set plan I was just going to try an internship"

"Cool so I will talk to auntie and uncle about you moving back here, we will help you find a nice townhouse or condo." Mani stated.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I jumped up and down.

They all nodded; "we finna be making bbaannkk" Toya said as she did a small twerk.

We all agreed and laughed as we headed towards the food court to figure out our next move. Once the variety of food hit my senses my stomach instantly growled. "I'm hhhuuunnngggrrryyy" I groaned.

"We finna leave now, where y'all wanna eat at?" Mani asked as she stopped at a table for us to sit and decide.

"Hhhmmmm, what about Pappadeaux?" Ri asked.

"Nnaahhh, how about Ruth Chris?" Toya said.

"Sounds good to me!" We spoke in unison.

I giggled; "we be in each other's head so much it's crazy!"

"Debo dropped us off here so we gonna hop in the car with y'all" Ri stated as we headed out of the mall.

For some reason I felt like I was being watched, I started to scan the parking lot but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

Once we made it to the car out of my peripheral I saw a guy standing at a car watching us intently.

We got into the car and I brought it to the girl's attention, "Mani your windows tinted right?" I asked.

"Yyeeaa why?" She replied.

"Everybody turn around and look out of the back window, there is a guy that I'm guessing has been following us"

The girls turned around and it's as if Toya's breath got caught in her throat; "What the fuck" she whispered.

"Oh hell naw! Let me call my brother" Ri said as she pulled out her phone.

Mani crunk up and pulled off quickly, doing at least 45 out of the parking lot.

"What's going on?" I asked confused.

"That's Myles. He assaulted Toya months ago when she was working for him and I. He also helped Jaron infiltrate the first safe house." Mani replied as she too pulled her phone out, I'm guessing to call Jason.

After I took care of some business I decided to hit up the mall to buy some new shoes. Jaron ass been distant lately so I decided to give him some space and do my own thing.

Lately I haven't been really thinking about Toya, I really didn't have a set plan so I had to take a few steps back. Although her baby daddy had an army behind him that didn't put fear in me. Like I said, what I want I get and she's what I want.

Some people may call it obsessive but I consider it as admiring. As I walked out of House of Hoops I caught a glimpse of a group of women. I did a double take as I realized one of the women was indeed LaToya. She was looking good in her all white and the way it looked on her chocolate skin made my heart flutter.

My phone rung jolting me out of my thiughts; "Speak"

"Aye man meet me at my spot" Jaron's eager voice came through the phone.

"What's up, everything straight?" I asked as looked around for Toya again. I silently cursed myself because I lost sight of her.

"Yea everything good, I just got some news I wanna share with you but only in person"

"Bet, I'm leaving Perimeter I'll be there in like 30 minutes"

"Aight"

I ended the call and headed towards the parking lot. I was halfway to my car when I noticed the girls walking towards their car. One of them started to look around but I didn't recognize her. She was cute too, but I know who I want.

As she scanned the parking lot I made calculated steps to assure that I was out of her line of vision. I watched, admiring Toya's beauty from a far. Once they hopped into the car they sat for a while then sped out of the parking lot like bats out of hell.

I hopped into my car and headed towards Jaron's house. While driving my mind clouded with thoughts of her beautiful face, her beautiful smile, her sultry voice; just everything about her. I often find myself wondering if I went about things differently would she have been willing to be my woman.

It was to late for what if's though, so here I was trying to figure out a way to talk to her, to just explain to her that I never meant her any harm. I needed to figure out how to talk to her, just then a thought came to mind and I made a phone call.
