January 1st, 2019/ Wedding Day

The girls were up ripping and running, getting their hair and make up done as Imani tried to tame Jewel's hair because she wouldn't let anyone else touch it.

The women all had natural faces with blush pink eye shadow, with their hair parted down the middle. The bridesmaids got dressed first; dressing in their Blush Pink Spaghetti Strapped fitted dresses and Silver Sequin Strap up heels.

Mani started to get Jewel dressed in her Flower Girl dress and then started to get dressed herself. "I'm so nervous, what if I fall while walking down the aisle."

"Fool get it together, you got this" Camari laughed. "You know my dad not gonna let you fall"

Imani's uncle Samuel was going to walk her down the aisle in place of her father. This was a bitter sweet moment for him because Shaun was his little brother and to have the honor to walk his daughter down the aisle warmed his heart.

"She's right Mani, just focus on getting to your man, you will be fine" Ri rubbed her arm. "Go ahead and put that beautiful dress on"

She stepped into the off the shoulder Mermaid Sweetheart long dress and into her Crystal Gold Sequin high heels. Imani walked to the mirror and surveyed herself. Tears pricked her eyes, she was amazed at how beautiful she looked.

There was a knock on the door; "Mani are you ready?" Samuel's voice came through the door.

"Nnoooo" she whined.

"Can I come in?" He asked.

"Yes" she said in a soft voice.

He opened the door; "Bridesmaids they are ready for you. Go ahead I got her"

The girls nodded and headed out of the door. "Mommy you come?" Jewel asked

"Yes baby, mommy is coming. You go ahead and go throw the flowers down mommy will be right behind you"

"Otay, mommy"

Mani smiled and turned towards her uncle; "I wish my dad was here. Why did God have to take him" she choked up.

"I know baby girl." He said calling her by her nickname. "I miss him too but I am here for you and just like him I'll give my life to protect you"

She nodded; "thank you Uncle Sam. Thank you for everything. Without you and aunt Camila I don't know where I would be today."

"You're welcome, now let's go before Jason thinks you changed your mind"

They both chuckled, she grabbed her bouquet and left out of the room, heading to the double doors of the church. When they made it the Groomsmen and Bridesmaids were just finishing up there walk in.

It was now Jewels turn to walk, she turned and smiled at her big brother then headed in.

She placed one foot in front of the other as she gracefully walked down the aisle dropping the pink and white rose pedals on her way down. Once she made it to the top Jason kneeled down and kissed her cheek.

Next it was JJ's turn, he took a deep breath and placed his sign in front of him as he made his way down the aisle. The sign read; "Here comes your cutie" as he smiled brightly making eye contact with almost everyone in the audience.

He made it to the end and his dad also kneeled, adjusted his bow tie and they did their secret handshake.

The lights dimmed and an instrumental of "I Gotta Be" by Jagged Edge began to play. "You got this" Sam whispered to his niece.

She smiled at him and took a deep breath. Everything in front of her became obsolete as she made eye contact with her soon to be husband. She observed his grey suit and neatly twisted dreads.

He stood in pure shock as he watched her walk towards him. He tried his hardest not to shed tears but the sight of his true love approaching him broke his hard exterior and a few tears dropped.

Once Imani made it to him the pastor spoke, "Who gives this woman to this man today?"

"I do" Samuel spoke. He took her right hand and placed it into Jason's left hand officiating his approval. He shook Jason's hand, then kissed Imani's cheek and headed to his seat.

Imani passed her bouquet to Camari; who was her Maid of Honor. The pastor began the ceremony; "Dear friends and family, we are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the union of Jason Adams and Imani Jones in marriage. In the years they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured, and now they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife."

"True marriage begins well before the wedding day, and the efforts of marriage continue well beyond the ceremony's end. A brief moment in time and the stroke of the pen are all that is required to create the legal bond of marriage, but it takes a lifetime of love, commitment, and compromise to make marriage durable and everlasting. Today you declare your commitment to each other before family and friends. Your yesterdays were the path to this moment, and your journey to a future of togetherness becomes a little clearer with each new day."

Jason stared into Imani's eyes as he begin to think about all they had been through; the wars, the arguments, the other women, just everything. In this moment he knew that she was the woman for him.

She had put up with his bull shit, sometimes with no complaints and still loved him unconditionally. She loved their children unconditionally, proving that she was the best woman he could've chosen.

Imani thought about all the trials and tribulations they had been through. She had dealt with helping him build his empire, fighting along side him in multiple drug wars, she even dealt with him cheating a time or two.

Although back then she wanted to leave his ass her heart just wouldn't allow it, she always found her way back to him. He was her knight and shining armor, her protector, her everything.

"Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there will be no loneliness, for each of you will be companion to the other. Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you. May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years, May happiness be your companion and your days together be good and long upon the earth."

" Jason and Imani, the time has come to forget all the stress of planning this day and simply enjoy your friends and family who have gathered to spend this day with you. This group of loved ones will, in all likelihood, never be all together in the same place again. Through quiet reflection and nostalgia, think about how each person has touched your life and why they are here with you today. While you create a life together here today, each of those present will certainly be a part of your new life, continuing the celebration of your life together, and providing comfort in your hour of need."

"Jason please repeat after me; "Imani, I promise to always be there for you, to shelter and hold your love as the most precious gift in my life. I will be truthful and honor you, as I embrace as the most important part of my life. I will care for you always and stand by you in times of sorrow and joy, forever nurturing the love I feel for you."

He repeated the vows as tears rolled down her face as she smiled.

"Imani please repeat after me; Jason, I promise to always be there for you, to shelter and hold your love as the most precious gift in my life. I will be truthful and honor you, as I embrace as the most important part of my life. I will care for you always and stand by you in times of sorrow and joy, forever nurturing the love I feel for you."

She repeated the vows as she looked into his eyes seeing pure love and admiration.

"Now it's time for the exchanging of the rings, may I have them?" The Pastor spoke as he turned his attention to JJ. JJ reached his hand in his pocket and handed him the rings. The Pastor then handed each ring to each person.

"Jason please start" he nodded.

"I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. I ask you to wear this ring as a reminder of the vows we have spoken today, our wedding day." He spoke as tears pricked his eyes.

"Imani" the Pastor spoke.

"I will wear it gladly. Whenever I look at it, I will remember this joyous day and the vows and commitments that we have made." She replied as tears poured out of her eyes. She didn't bother to wipe them because she knew they would just keep flowing.

He placed the ring on her left hand ring finger and kissed her hand. Imani repeated the words as she too placed his ring on his left hand ring finger. They smiled at one another.

After a moment of silence the pastor spoke; "If anyone objects, speak now or forever hold your peace"

There was total silence so he continued;
"Family and Friends, I present to you, For the first time; Mr and Mrs. Jason Adams."

The audience went wild!

"Friends and family, to conclude this ceremony, will the designated witnesses please come forward and sign their names to the certificate of marriage. Jasper and Camari please come forward."

They both came forward and signed there names on the witness line. Once they finished he concluded the ceremony.

"By the power vested in me, I know pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride"

Jason placed his hand on the back of Imani's neck and pulled her into him. He kissed her passionately as her knees weakened. The church eroded in applause.

"Yyaaayyyy mommy" Jewel screamed. Jason and Imani couldn't help but laugh.

It was now time for the reception. Imani and the bridesmaids changed their outfits, while the groomsmen stayed in their suits. The bridesmaids changed into all white. While Mani changed into an off the shoulder Pink Tulle long Evening gown.

They entered the venue and everyone's breath was taken away.

It was completely beautiful. The Bride and Groom shared their first dance, along with a Mother/son dance and a Father/daughter dance.

Samuel saved the best dance for last. His & Mani's dance was so heart felt that they both ended in tears.

The family enjoyed there time together as they partied through the night. "Y'all lucky I love y'all enough to watch y'all demon seeds" Jasper stayed as he & Ri danced next to the couple.

They both mugged him; "don't do my kids" they said in unison.

"Look these folks get married and don't know how to act" Ri said as she laughed.

"Yeah yeah, thank y'all though for real. We appreciate it" Jason said as he stopped dancing to dap up his little brother.

"It's all love" he replied.

They ended the night in laughter and everyone went their separate ways as Jason and Imani headed to the private jet to start their two week long honeymoon.
