Bonus Chapter!
After a long day of training, I just wanted to go home. I couldn't wait to just take a shower and crawl into bed with Ryker.
It's been a whole year since we've been married and we've had our moments, but I don't regret it one bit. I loved him so fiercely, I couldn't see my life without him.
Joey had just graduated and she's out with a couple friends this weekend doing a college campus tour. She just texted me an update on what they're doing and that she's about to go back to the hotel to crash. I just wanted to keep her safe, and make sure she was always okay.
On my drive home, I picked up a bottle of wine. I needed to take the edge off of a really stressful day. I drove through the town and parked in the parking lot of the apartment complex, killing the ignition. I make my way inside and hear Ryker fumbling away in the kitchen.
Well, I can smell him before I can hear it. And the smell immediately makes me queasy. I cover my nose, but it's of no use. Whatever he's cooking reeks and I needed to hurl.
Ryker watched as I half-run to the guest bathroom and throw up my lunch in the toilet. He comes in quickly behind me and is immediately kneeling beside me, grabbing my hair and holding it up.
"Doesn't it smell?" I joke.
"In sickness and health, baby." He gives me a gentle smile and rubs my back.
I groan and lift my head. "I'm sorry, I think it might've been my lunch. It didn't settle right and the smell just made it all come back up."
"I'm sorry, I'll open some windows."
I smile at him as he kisses my forehead and disappears. I flush the toilet and stand to my feet. I walk to the sink and wash my hands, then brush my teeth. I sigh and walk out, Ryker fanning the smell out of the house through a window.
"Ryker." I smile, not being able to stop my heart from sky rocketing. "You don't need to do all that."
"I tried to surprise you. I feel like shit now." He nervously smiles.
I slowly walk over towards him. I wrap my arms around his waist and place my chin on his chest. Then I give him another small smile.
"I love you, Ryker. And I love the gesture."
He pushes my hair behind my ear and leans close. "And I love you. I missed you today."
He smirks as he presses his lips against my jaw, close to my ear. Goosebumps spread across my skin at his touch.
"You look so beautiful," he murmurs as he presses another one on my jawline.
"Yeah right," I scoff. "A whole day in training to come home and puke? Not flattering."
Ryker pulled back, already missing his warmth. His brows knitted together as his eyes scanned my body up and down.
"You look exquisite, baby." His eyes met mine. "Just like you have every moment of our lives."
My knees were weak as he leaned down and pressed his lips right below my ear. I tilt my head to give him more access as he applies a bit of pressure, sucking gently. He gripped onto my waist with one hand and continues to kiss my neck and up to the corner of my lips.
He wasn't kissing me on purpose and it was torture.
I grab either side of his face and look deep in his eyes. Those beautiful hazel eyes that have always captivated me never fail to make my heart skip a beat. They search mine for a moment before I guide his lips down to mine, colliding on mine in perfect harmony.
It's just something about us—perfect collision, unison, and becoming one with each other.
At first, the kiss was just simple. Pecking each other softly and innocently, until it wasn't. Until Ryker deepened the kiss and softly pushed his tongue in my mouth, making my stomach burst with butterflies. I tangle my fingers in his hair and bring him closer, needing him closer to me.
Ryker's swooped me up in his arms, never breaking the kiss, bringing us to the bedroom. I giggled as he sat me on the bed and looked at me lovingly, grabbing the bottom of my shirt. I lifted my arms up as he grabbed it and took it off my body, leaving me in my white bra. I smile sheepishly at him as he leans forward and pecks my lips.
I grab ahold of his shirt, doing the same thing, revealing his toned body to me. I run my fingers down his body, making his eyes darken. I grab his jaw and guide his lips back to mine. He crawls over me and hovers, making my heart beat faster and faster.
No matter how many times we do this, it always makes me feel nervous, but in a good way. Ryker never fails to make me feel safe, protected and loved. I know why it's called making love, because when you're deeply committed and in love with your partner, it's a whole other level. It's deep-seeded and I couldn't imagine doing this with anyone else but him.
"I love you," I whisper against his lips, which makes him look at me. "Sorry. I'm just—"
He kisses my lips quickly. "I love you, baby. So much."
Ryker pulls my pants down my legs, which I help him kick off. I feel the excitement bubble in the pit of my stomach as his fingers graze the hem of my underwear.
"You sure you're up for this tonight? We don't have to if you're feeling sick."
"I want you, Ryker. Every day." I assure.
His eyes shine at me before his fingers plunge into me. I cry out in pleasure as he pushes my hair off my forehead. His fingers move roughly against me, his thumb circling my clit and his fingers going in and out of me at a face pace, causing a rippling moan to erupt from me.
"You're the most beautiful girl in the world, Maddison." Ryker coos in my ear. "Fuck, I'm the luckiest guy to be able to call you my wife."
I moan at his words as he continues working his fingers in me and against me, the pressure in the pit of my stomach tightening. I felt my legs shake and my eyes start to shut as the euphoric state start to take over me.
But Ryker stopped, his fingers leaving me. I snapped my eyes open to look at him, but feel his hands grip my panties and pull them down my legs. I gasp as I feel the cool air hit the coolness between my legs and see him pushing his own pants and boxers down his legs anxiously.
He wraps his arm around my waist and looks at me. His eyes are on mine and he smiles softly at me. I kiss his lips right as he slowly pierces me, making me gasp in his mouth. He inches in, my body clenching around him as he watches me intently until his whole length is in me. My jaw slacks as he kisses my neck, sliding out and slowly thrusting back in.
"Fuck," Ryker shivers and breathes against my skin. "You're sensational, baby."
I feel my eyes rolling to the back of my head as he kneads one of my breasts, continuing his slow thrusts in me. I grip his waist, digging my nails in it and bringing him impossibly closer. The action makes him groan against my skin, making goosebumps spread like wildfire.
"More, Ryker," I beg. "I need more."
He presses his lips against mine, claiming and possessing mine as he complied with my command, quickening his pace. His thrusts were calculated, pulling out, pausing for a second, and slamming back in, filling me completely all the way to the hilt. I cry out in pleasure as he continued this, feeling like I'm floating on a cloud.
"Yes, Ryker." I moan on his lips, kissing him hungrily.
"You like it like this, baby girl?" He kisses my neck. "Rougher than you're used to?"
I moan, my eyes closing at his dirty words. I hear him chuckle.
"I'll take that as a yes."
I feel myself on the edge—so close to my release, I could almost taste it. My skin was sweaty, so was Ryker's, our skin slapping together and moans filling the room, making this even better. It was so sensual, and Ryker's moans and seeing him come undone was so sexy to me.
"Ryker," I moan softly. "I love you."
"You're so fucking beautiful, Maddison." Ryker kisses my chin. "Come for me."
Ryker's thrusts are sloppy and fast, and I could tell he was on the verge of his own climax. I tug on his hair and reach my high, his name leaving my lips like a prayer. Ryker thrusts a few more times, moan ripping through him before he says my name and rests his head on my chest.
We were sweaty and out of breath, but I didn't care. I felt like I was in complete bliss, and I loved the way he was running through his hand through my hair.
"You're so perfect, baby." Ryker kisses my shoulder.
I smile involuntarily. "And so are you."
And just like that, we fell asleep in each other's arms.
* * *
"How?"
Kar smiles at me. "Just a wild guess? Sex had a major factor here."
I glare at her. This morning when I woke up, I had to run to the bathroom. I threw up and I hadn't even smelt anything nasty. I didn't think much of it until I got sick again while me and Karmiah were out shopping for some new scrubs.
She made a joke, telling me she hoped I wasn't pregnant. That's when I felt my stomach drop and we rushed to the pharmacy to buy seven different types of pregnancy tests.
They all came back positive.
"Shut up." I groan and put my head in my hands. "How am I supposed to tell him? He's been working so hard on trying to write and fix himself on a schedule. It'll throw a kink in everything."
"Are you kidding? Ryker is so in love with you, he'd be thrilled to know that you're pregnant!" She smiles. "He'll love the idea of a little him walking around."
I smile. "A little version of us."
"You guys are so cute it's nauseating."
I wrinkle my nose at her. "Whatever."
When I hear a car horn, I look at the window.
"Better go, his majesty is waiting." Kar jokes. "But don't hold it back. Tell him."
I give her a hug. "I will. Thank you."
I wave her off and walk outside. I see Ryker's car and immediately hop inside, Ryker taking my face in his hands and kissing my lips.
"Well, hi." I gush.
"I missed you." He kisses my nose.
"Aw," I lean on the seat.
"I need you to put this on." He looks at me, holding a blindfold.
I raise a brow. "Why?"
"Do you trust me?"
I glare at him playfully. "Of course."
He smiles. "Then put it on."
I sigh and lean forward, allowing him to carefully place the blindfold around my eyes.
"No peeking." He warns before he takes off.
I smile, leaning my head against the window. As we drove, and since I couldn't see, my mind just started to wander about being freaking pregnant and about Ryker. How do I tell him? Do I do it in some cutesy way I've seen on tv? Do I just tell him? Would he be mad? Happy? How would he genuinely react? I'm so confused.
We drove for a while—well, seemed that way to me—until Ryker slowed the car to a stop. I turned my head towards him.
"Don't move, I'll help."
His door shuts and I hear mine open. He grabs my hand and walks behind me, keeping his hands over my face as he guided me forward.
"Ryker?" I laugh. "What's the big fuss?"
"Just a second, baby. Calm down. Alright."
He reached for the blindfold and pulled it over my head. I blinked, taking in the scene before me. It was a huge house, which looked like a cottage almost, and was decorated with cute and different colored brick, and has a huge yard. I could see the chimney sticking out on stop and the stone pathway leading up to the big, dark wooden door.
"Wh—" I shook my head.
"For us, our future family." Ryker cooed beside my ear.
My stomach dropped as I turned to face him. He smiles at me and tucked some hair behind my ear.
"I promised we wouldn't stay there for long, baby. This? It's ours. If you say yes."
"But-but what about Joey? She's touring campuses right now as we speak." I fumble.
"Joey can manage a change, baby. It's not that far away. I'll pick her up every weekend, need be. I don't care. This house is perfect for us, I know you can feel it."
I look at the house, then to Ryker. He's got such a big smile on his face, it's almost painful.
"But—"
"Maddison, think about you. Only you. Isn't this what you've always wanted?"
I look at the gorgeous house, then back to Ryker. He's what I've always wanted, Joey, too. And now this baby...
"I'm pregnant."
Ryker's smile slowly vanished as his eyes widened. He looked at my stomach, like he'd be able to see a sign or something. I felt like screaming.
"Y-y-you're pregnant?" His voice was so small, I barely heard him over the birds chirping and the bugs buzzing.
I nod once. "Yes."
I thought he'd say that this changes everything, or that this isn't what he expected. But he didn't; he lifted his hand and pressed it against my stomach, making tears instantly spring to my eyes.
"You mean to tell me...you and me, we made something? A-a life?"
Oh, man. Cue the waterworks.
I nod as tears streamed down my cheeks. Ryker looked at me and grabbed either side of my face, wiping my tears away.
"Don't you see? This is the sign we needed to tell us yes. You're always saying God works in mysterious ways and here we are." Ryker laughs. "This is meant to be, baby. And we're going to raise that beautiful kid in that house and we're going to do an amazing job at it. Be better than our parents."
I placed my hands over his, smiling. "Okay, Ryker." I nod. "Yes, okay."
He bends down and kisses my lips, then kneels down on the grass and presses a kiss to my belly. If I wasn't so head over heels for this man, this definitely would've done it.
"Daddy loves you so much already." He says against my stomach.
When he looks up at me, I see his genuine happiness, and I grab his face and place my lips on his.
"I love you so much." I claim.
"I love you," he kisses my cheek. "Thank you for loving me and giving me life, Maddison."
I place my hand on his chest. "The other half of my heart, yeah?"
He shakes his head. "The other half of my fucking soul, baby."
I chuckle. "Right."
And I know that when he kissed me that day, he kissed me with a whole newfound love—love not only for me, but for our unborn child. Because that's just how big his heart is. And I couldn't love him any more than I do already.
