Chapter Eighteen

I feel like this is another filler but I promise next chapter will actually have some life ;-;

"Are you sure you don't need anything more?"

Robin nodded his head as Hermia nitpicked him and the recent arrivals. When Ronnie returned, he brought with him Kima and Lamia. It took the three of them time to adjust to Yoshii, but within an hour they'd gone back to normal.

"Hermia, please," Kima sighed exasperatedly. She placed her hand on the blue haired woman's shoulders and shook her head. "We will be fine. Lamia and I will definitely protect them on our journey back to Ronan's."

Hermia took a deep breath and looked back at Robin. Her eyes glistened with slight tears as she stepped towards him and Yoshii. "Take care, my boys." She wrapped her arms around the two of them and nearly yanked them closer to her.

"Thank you," Robin and Yoshii spoke in unison. They glanced towards each other with a bit of humor before Hermia pulled away.

"Leavin' so soon?" Oberon's voice rang out from the hallway. The short man came into view with a smile on his face. Had Robin looked closer, he would've realized that a twinge of regret was hidden in the elder's face. "Stay safe."

Robin nodded as he bit the inside of his cheek. He felt bad for leaving them so quickly. He felt that there was no way he could ever repay the amount of hospitality he had been given. Heck - he just showed up at their door one day and they gratefully accepted without any sort of question.

He felt a hand on his shoulder and as he turned around he was met face-to-face with Kima.

"We must be going quickly. We want to reach Ronan's as soon as possible."

Robin adjusted the leather - or so it seemed - backpack that Hermia had given him and made his way towards the door. Hermia followed all of them out and watched as they left. Robin watched somberly as a few tears ran down her cheeks.

"Say hello to my son for me, will you?" she called after them, waving.

The journey wasn't too long. It lasted an hour and a half at most, and that included a ten minute rest to catch up with everyone. Of course, everything could not be shared in a mere ten minutes, but they did their best.

Robin had learned that the Ronan they continued to speak of was one of the forest's strongest magicians and healers. Ronnie's arm was motivated by pure magic, so they didn't exactly have to worry about serious malfunctions.

Kima, who was leading the gaggle of adventurers, began to slow down as a large wooden clock tower-like structure came into view. Different sorts of pipes were jutting out of the pointed roof and a large, brass pipe ran around the dead center.

The large clock held what seemed to be ten different hands. Each of them was moving at a completely different pace, and one went so fast it was barely visible.

"Here we are," Kima yawned, gripping the door handle and trudging inside. "Ronan!"

The clinking of metal and a loud crash echoed through the first floor. A loud "CURSES!" followed soon after.

Lamia chuckled a bit from the back of the group. Robin turned around a bit to see her adjusting Nikolai in her hands, who had slept nearly the entire trip. She met his eyes for a second, but said nothing.

He quickly turned away just in time to see a young, white haired male stepped out from a small hallway.

"Oh," he mumbled, adjusting the rectangular glasses atop his face, "you're back." He looked amongst all of them with narrowed eyes then changed his glance to Kima. "Where's the other fairy?"

Robin could hear as Yoshii choked next to him. He laid a hand on his shoulder for a second as Kima explained.

"He died of injuries as we healed here. It was inevitable."

"Ah, I see." Ronan nodded. His crystalline eyes gleamed in a bit of an odd manner as they met Ronnie's. Robin looked between them and furrowed his brows.

'I can almost physically feel the tension between them,' he thought to himself, 'but why?'

"One less soul for me to worry about, I guess," Ronan murmured then followed by smirking a bit at Ronnie.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Yoshii mumbled to himself, turning towards Robin.

The other male could only shrug in response he watched Ronan leave the room.

"I apologize for his attitude," Kima grumbled. "He can be a bit of a...well, let's just say that he's not the nicest person."

"I can tell," Robin responded quietly.

Okay, this is most definitely the shortest chapter yet. I just have a feeling that if I added any more to it it would seem...too much? Yeah.

Anyways, next chapter we get some...angst? Maybe? And maybe some shipping material, I really don't know 100% yet :3

HEY - ANYONE NOTICE THE..."EXTRA" INTERACTION BETWEEN YOSHII AND ROBIN THESE PAST FEW CHAPTERS

HUEHUEHUE, JUST HAD TO POINT THAT OUT SORRY :0

Anyways, yes yes thank you for reading! I have a feeling that the next chapter will come out real soon...

...and if it doesn't feel free to spam me because then I'd actually feel maybe motivated? AGAIN, I DON'T KNOW 100% BUT YEAH.

Lovs
