Sirius learned about this relationship because one day he saw his younger brother wearing a not so slytherin tie.
Hogwarts 1996 Harry Potters sixth year, in which he became even more obsessed with a curtain blond boy who was related to the blacks.
Some ghosts and paintings thought they'd got a deja vu and even the teachers saw the youngest black in the chosen one, more than one time.
(and yes I know James and Lily dated in their last year but we ignore that.)
