Nine
Walking through the streets as the sun set reminded Jaydess of her life in New Zealand. The place was filled with bitter-sweet memories. On second she was smiling the next crying.
She loved New Zealand. The place was just perfect with its gorgeous seas, sunsets and parks. A price of nature was always present whether it be a lone tree or a path of green grass beside the pavement, it always made her feel that not everything in life had to be artificial. Then again, she was pretty sure it was just a grass carpet.
Nevertheless, Jade loved it dearly. It was her stupid previous master who had engraved horrid memories in her mind. Her happiest memories took at least three minutes until they faded into a nightmare.
The girl shuddered as she recalled the old man with stringy grey hair, dull blue eyes and his horrendous corn-yellow teeth.
South Korean sunsets weren't really the same as that of New Zealand. Mainly because it was barely noticeable being behind skyscrapers and other buildings. But neither did they have the same affect on her as the sunsets she had seen in the other continent.
Jaydess sighed as she shoves her hands in her black sweatpants pockets. The air was become cooler bit she knew it wouldn't ever get unbearably cold, maybe a bit chilly but that's where it stopped. It was summer after all.
She closed her eyes for a second and tried to picture herself back in the comfort of her home country.
She wasn't necessarily surprised when she had bumped into someone not long after.
Jade groaned before opening her eyes to see I.N on the ground.
She couldn't help but chuckle a bit as she watched him stand up and outstretch his arm to help her up.
"We should really stop meeting like this," she uttered to which he chuckled at. It was the first time she had seen him smile since her arrival, let alone anyone had seen him smile in years. She had to admit it was cute but force herself not to stare.
She brought her hand to meet I.N's but as soon as they touched she had a flashback.
By the time she returned to reality, she was panting heavily. I.N stared down at her with wide eyes.
"What...what just happened?" He asked looking down at his hand then at hers.
"I'm getting the impression you saw it too then," She said between pants.
"Depends...what did you see?"
"You...and me. We were both walk towards a white building...then we look at each other. We had eye contact."
"Ok, good. We saw the same thing...I mean, not good...just...nevermind."
Jade brought a hand to her forehead and began to massage it slowly.
"I don't know about you but...something about all that just seemed so... so real. As if it had actually happened before."
I.N furrowed his eyebrows and scrunched up his nose.
"What did you just say?"
"Oh don't mind me, just being stupid that's all...we only met a couple days ago, it couldn't have possibly happened."
He cocked an eyebrow.
"Who ever said that's was the first time we met?"
"What do you mean? Did we meet each other before a couple of days ago?"
"I mean, you just saw it. That was proof."
She shook her head.
"No, that didn't happen. I don't remember that happening. And besides when could it have happened? You seemed very youngust have been years ago, when I was still in New Zealand...have you ever been out of South Korea?"
"Just to Japan."
"Well, I've never been to Japan so we couldn't have ever met."
"You know the flashback you just had? Yeah, that took place in Japan."
"How do you know?"
"I'm guessing no one ever told you anything about me."
"Well, I heard a bit. Actually just your name and master, that's all though...oh and also the fact that you don't believe that there was an aeroplane crash."
"Oh yeah...that. Must think I'm crazy or something, huh?"
"Nope. Honestly, I find it quite intriguing. Why exactly do you think there was no crash?"
"Well first of all, how could everyone, no matter where they were, have experienced a plane crash? Makes no sense."
"So why do you think we all have that memory?"
"The androids. They implanted that memory into our minds to make us thin all of this was normal. You know, serving them and all."
Jaydess cocked her eyebrow.
"Are you claiming it isn't normal?"
"Well...it wasn't how things were before..."
She tilted her head as she smiled at him, finding the boy more interesting each second.
"You know, my master is planning a sleepover for my friends and I and I'd really appreciate it if you come. I'd like to know you better, hear everything you have to say."
He smiled in return.
"You're...serious?"
"Yeah, so what do you think about it?"
"I don't know...I'll think about it."
"Cool. I have to go now, it's getting late."
I.N nodded as he outstretched his hand to help her up but then hesitantly pulled it back.
"Right, forgot about that."
Jade simply chuckled as she helped herself up.
"It was nice to meet you, I.N. Hopefully we meet again."
He smiled as he watched her walk away.
"Yeah, hopefully."
