Epilogue
A few years later...
"Good morning," Jeongin said in a sing-song tone as he kissed Jade's cheek and placed a cup of coffee on her desk. "Caramel latte with extra cream just how you like it."
Jaydess sighed as she turned her chair around to look at him instead of her computer screen.
"I swear I don't deserve you," she smiled at him, watching as he leaned against his own desk and sipped on his coffee.
"Don't say that. You are absolutely perfect for me in my eyes. I wouldn't want anyone else," he replied before cringing at his words. He wasn't the best at expressing how much he loved her and would end up feeling embarrassed or just regret what he had said but Jade knew he meant every last bit of it and more. Though she did realise that recently he was saying a lot more than he used to and made it her task to make him comfortable around no matter what.
"So, what are you doing?" he changed the subject as he glanced at her computer screen.
"Working on the eye-camera thing. So far it seems possible but you never know."
"And what is 'the eye-camera thing'?"
"You know when you see something beautiful and want to take a picture of it but it's just not as pretty or spectacular when you take a picture of it? Well, the eye-camera is a camera lens that you were on your eye like a contact lens that takes pictures exactly how you see them."
"Sounds like a lot of work," Jeongin sipped on his coffee.
"It is. Might take months of endless work to finally invent it."
"Yeah, about that...are you free at lunch?"
"Well, I'm going to be working on this-"
"So you're not, great! I was thinking about getting a meal together. I mean it's been a while. "
"Jeongin, I'm so busy with work and all. I can't afford to just go out and have lunch."
"Come on, Jade. When was the last time you got your butt out of that chair?" the boy complained.
"An hour ago when I went for a toilet break."
"You know what I mean. You've been working non-stop for the past few months. You rarely go home to sleep and honestly, do you even remember what fresh air is? You're only twenty-one, Jade. You should be out and enjoying life before you have to dedicate it to your future kids."
"I am enjoying life. I enjoy my work. I enjoy having you here and I enjoy inventing stuff."
"We rarely see each other anymore unless I take the initiative to see you or talk to you," Jeongin sighed. "I understand you love what you're doing but honestly, take a break once in a while. How do you expect yourself to be creative when you are constantly shoving work in your face?"
Jade sighed before standing up and pulling her boyfriend into a hug.
"I'm sorry, Jeongin. I guess I just never realised you felt this way. Why didn't you tell me before?"
"Because I was worried you'd take it the wrong way," he mumbled, returning the hug.
"You know what? My schedule suddenly cleared up. How about we forget about work and whatever and just dedicate this day to ourselves?"
Jeongin smiled.
"That was all I ever wanted."

The sun began to darken and the city lights were all turned on one by one. It was a beautiful view to watch from on top of the hill they had had a picnic at.
Jade had actually even forgotten how romantic Jeongin could be if he actually put his mind to it and it only made her realise how much he actually missed her. He actually made a full-on meal which apparently he had been practising for a while.
Leaning against his body as they watched the city lights turn on, Jaydess finally remembered that work wasn't all there was to life. And she wanted to have more days like this where she just forgot about everything and enjoyed quality time with her boyfriend.
"Thanks for getting me out of that cramped office," she smiled, resting her head on his shoulder.
"It's honestly nothing," he uttered as he kissed her cheek. "Oh right. I almost forgot, I have something for you."
He shoved his hand into his hoodie pocket and Jade watched as he fiddled with whatever it was, questioning whether to bring it out or not.
"What's that?" she asked, pulling away from him to have a better look at it but Jeongin quickly hid hit before clearing his throat.
"Uhm, well... we've been close friends for a decent amount of time and now we've been a couple for two years. I...uhm...I've never been good at expressing or showing you how much you mean to me and I'm honestly sorry for that. I love you so much and I...I just...no, would you...may you..." he sighed before pulling the box out of his hoodie pocket and opening it to reveal a ring. "Will you marry me, Jade?"
Jaydess stared at him for a few seconds, trying to comprehend what she had just heard until she finally pulled in into a tight hug.
"Of course!"
