The only thing I'll explain about this is that Grian wears his sleeves down and fingerless gloves is because after the Watchers decided that he wasn't suitable to become one of them, the force all of his magic into some kind of magical marking/tattoo on his right arm. He hates being reminded of his past so he covers it up.
