Rose cries silently, her eyes have become red and puffy.

People say love is blind.

Rose starts developing feelings for him after Artemis starts to take care of her by making her comfortable, and happy, doing all the things she didn't ask.

FLASHBACK

"Yeah, But he is a gentleman I could say. He didn't hurt me till now. He also wants friendship with me, nothing else" She tries to convince Teena.

"Well, I can see his love towards you even though I am very far from you guys. But you are not accepting it"

"Do you want to date him or what?"

"Hey, are you serious?"

"Yes, I haven't seen him in person to person but Just now I googled him. Oh god! He is so hot, I don't know his age, it's about nearly 35-40? Hmm?"

"I too don't know, we are not that close"

"I can really understand, what kind of friendship you two have" Teena says in sarcasm.

"Very funny!" She replies in sarcasm.

"He is so hot, Rose! If I were you, he definitely would have trapped me or else I could have trapped him"

"I don't have any feelings for him"

"I know about you, But mind my words, he loves you deep" Teena cuts the call.

"Whatever" Rose groans and keeps the cell phone on the table.

"Is she telling the truth? She thinks in her mind and gets up from her seat.

The way he treats her like a queen and encourages her to do the things which makes her happy and feel good about herself. All the events and days she spent with him make her heart smile.

Then she remembers the condition, where their relationship must remain as a friendship but not more than that.

"Am I loving him or is it just an attraction?" She murmurs to herself.

That night, she couldn't able to sleep properly. Throughout the night she was thinking about Artemis's connection to her.

The next day morning

"Is he loving me? what if he doesn't accept me after I confess to him?" Rose pours the coffee into the cup slowly.

She remains in a dilemma until the coffee overflows, spilling onto the kitchen counter and splashing on her right foot.

"Argh!!!" She drops the coffee jar aside.

"Miss Amatore? Are you okay?" Mrs. Bunman runs to her.

"Coffee spilled on me, I was thinking something and It happened" She frowns.

"Oh my god, let me see it" Mrs. Bunman checks her leg feet. 

"I feel like a little burning on my skin" She tries to sit on the floor to examine the injury clearly.

"Oh Jesus! Your skin became pink. You are lucky, the coffee isn't that hot or else you would have burned your foot" Mrs. Bunman takes the medical kit from the cupboard.

"What is that sound? I heard it from Rose?" Artemis runs to the kitchen and sees Rose and Mrs. Bunman sitting on the floor.

"Mr. Vanderbilt, coffee splashed on her right foot" Mrs. Bunman says to him while applying the cream on her foot.

"How has that happened?" He kneels down to see the injury.

"It's my mistake! I was thinking something and I didn't observe that my coffee cup is overflowing until it splashed on my foot" Rose explains the situation,

"Mrs.Bunman, I will take care of it. Please clean that coffee jar. Who knows she might step on the glass pieces by thinking something" He says and comes closer to her foot. 

"Yes, sir" Mrs. Bunman starts sweeping the area.

He gently touches her waist with his left hand and helps her to stand.

Rose feels butterflies in her stomach when he touched her, especially her waist. She tries not to blush at the moment.

She sits on the chair similarly, he sits opposite her and keeps her right foot on his lap.

He applies the cream on the injured area.

"Shhh" Rose whimpers.

"Is it hurting?" He asks.

"Little" 

"Don't worry, The wound is not deep" He assures her.

She nods her head.

He places her foot on the floor gently.

"Is there anything bothering you?" 

"No" She replies.

He nods and taps her cheek.

"Careful, if you want anything just let Mrs. Bunman know about it"

She smiles a little.

He leaves.

"Miss Amatore, how are you feeling now?" Mrs. Bunman asks her.

"Yes, I am fine and sorry for that" She sees the shattered pieces of the coffee jar.

"No need to apologize, Miss Amatore" Mrs. Bunman nods.

The way he cared for her, the way he felt pain by her. All these scenes and his words are wandering in Rose's mind that night when she is showering before her sleep.

After showering, she puts on a fluffy robe.

"Oh my god! What is happening to me!!!" She walks to her bedroom balcony and watches the stars.

She closes her eyes and rewinds the moments when she first met him and all the apologies, cute moments, silly fights between them.

She smiles and understands that THIS IS FINALLY THE LOVE TOWARDS HIM.

Back to present

"I should not have come here" Rose packs her luggage.

She started to feel dizzy, her headache becoming worse than before.

She stops the packaging and falls on the bed after taking pills.

"I should have spoken to her about my love towards her or else I should have discussed Jana being pregnant" Artemis thinks while seeing the Rose photo on his phone.

He observes her photo and regrets his decision.

KNOCK KNOCK

"Is that Rose?" He smiles thinking about her.

"Artemis?" Jana speaks.

He groans and opens the door.

"Have I disturbed you?" Jana frowns.

"Yes" He lies.

"Oh, I am not getting sleep in my room. I thought of spending time with you"

"Not today, Jana. I am really very tired" Again he lies.

"What have you done to get tired? Taking her to the walk?" Jana raised an eyebrow.

He sees her face with a shocked expression.

"So, you are tracking me?" He says firmly.

She enters his room and slowly walks towards his bed.

He closes the door and follows her footsteps.

"You are the father of my unborn child and I am a mother. I should be very protective of you" She sits on the end of the bed.

"Don't make me tell you again, Jana! I told you so many times that do not keep leg into my personal life" He warns her.

"Personal life? Are you not interested in this baby's life?" She keeps her hand on her lower abdomen.

"Of course, Baby is mine. Do you think I ran away from all these responsibilities?" 

"No, it seems like you are more interested in that bitch life!" She yells.

The moment he listened bitch from her mouth, representing Rose as a bitch. His blood starts to boil and loses his temper.

 He angrily comes towards her and cups her face with his right hand.

"Artemis" She whimpers.

"Come again" He says.

"Artemis, you are hurting me" She tries to remove his hand from her face.

"Say it again and I won't even think a minute to smash your head with this lamp" He points out the heavy lamp beside his bed.

"Sorry" She gulps.

He releases her and opens the door.

She observes his intention and leaves the room.

The next day

"Rose?" Artemis bangs on Rose's bedroom door.

It's 5.25 AM. As usual it's a schedule for them to do jogging.

"Is she still sleeping?" He thinks and tries to open the door.

It is unlocked.

"Rose?" He enters the room and she is nowhere.

He observes the surroundings and the balcony.

"Is she in the washroom?" He goes to the bathroom.

she is not there.

He started to feel tense and searched the upstairs and downstairs.

"Where is she?" He asks himself.

He takes out the phone from his pocket and calls her.

It says switched off.

He comes out of the mansion and searches in the garden area, hoping she will present there.

"Ricky? Have you seen Rose?" He asks one of the security guards.

 "No" All of them say.

Suddenly he remembers the paper which is kept on the table beside her bed.

He immediately goes into the mansion.

He opens the folded paper, it is written in the beautiful handwriting of Rose.

Which says "Dear Artemis, I needed some space for myself. Today will be my last day here. Don't worry about me, you will find me where the water reflects the sky, just beyond the mansion.

He thinks for a moment and immediately he gets an answer.

The small lake, backside of the mansion.

Rose is sitting on the bench and observes the small lake and the flowers at the corners of it. The small birds were going from here to here and making amazing sounds.

He sits beside her and turns her around to him.

"I have a gun, If you go anywhere without informing me then I won't take much time to pull the trigger in this pretty head of yours" He points out her head.

She holds his hand and keeps it on her lap.

She smiles and lays her head on his broad shoulders.

He gets shocked after seeing her actions.

"Life is very short and unpredictable, isn't it?" She asks him.

"Rose? Are you alright?" He tries to read her facial expression.

"I am perfectly fine, Artemis" She says In a low tone.

"What are you doing here, it's time for our morning walk"

"Yes, I want to spend time with you because this is my last day here and I don't know what to do"

"Then stay here, who stopped you?"

"It's not about staying here, Artemis" She gets up from her seat and turns aside to hide her emotions.

"Then?"

"You are going to marry her, you are going to start a family and what am I in this?"

"Did she listen to our conversation?" He thinks in his mind.

"Who said that?" He gets up from his seat.

"Well, it's clear Artemis. If the ex-came back after a certain time and the couple is staying in one house then what will you expect between them?" She turns around.

"It's all about your mind, Rose. Don't take conclusions without knowing all the things" He protests his point.

"I don't know about it, Artemis. I am leaving right now" 

"What? Now?" He widens his eyes.

"Yes, is there any problem?"

"Why don't you leave after having breakfast with me"

"I wish I could, but I have some personal things to take care of. So I will be leaving early"

"When you will leave, tell me the exact timing"

"In 15 minutes, why?"

"Till then I can make something for you" He smiles.

"Please, you shouldn't do that for me. I am not hungry anyway. I will have it on the way to my home"

"You are in medication, with in a few days your course will be completed and I want you to be in perfect health all the time. Skipping breakfast is a disaster for your body."

He prepares a coffee and places it on the table along with a croissant.

"Thank you, You are embarrassing me" She slowly sips it.

"Why so?" He cleans his hands with the cloth.

"Coffee is the basic thing, I could have done it by myself but instead of that you have done it for me"

"Well, I don't usually make coffee for anyone. Only for the special people in my life" He winks and sits beside her.

"Special? How much special I am?" 

"You are like a moon in the middle of stars"

"That's so sweet of you and by the way, I like the coffee" She completes the coffee and starts eating a croissant.

"Thank you"

"I wish, she could have stayed some more days" He thinks while looking at her.

"I wish, I could have said to home before Jana's appearance" She thinks while taking the bites of the croissant.

"Take care, Artemis" She hugs him.

"Yeah and take care of yourself" He hugs her back.

"Sure, Bye" She breaks the hug.

He keeps all her belongings in the backside of car.

"Text me, when you are reached" He says to her.

"Sure" She smiles and gets into the car.

He waves at her and similarly she does.

Artemis has completed his morning fitness schedule and got ready for the office. He informed Mrs. Bunman about Rose's disappearance after she came.

"Mr. Vanderbilt, Doctor Reeves has arrived" Mrs. Bunman says to him.

"Yeah, I am coming" He wears the watch from the dressing table.

"Good morning, Mr. Vanderbilt" Dr. Reeves greets him.

"Good morning, Mrs. Reeves. How are you?" He approaches her.

"Please be seated" He signals her to sit.

"Yeah" Dr. Reeves sits on the sofa.

Mr. Vanderbilt nods at Mrs. Bunman.

She understands it and goes to Jana's room.

"Miss Florence, Dr. Reeves and Mr. Vanderbilt are waiting for you to come" Mrs. Bunman informs her.

"Oh, is it for me?" She says while applying the mascara.

"Yes, Miss Florence. Mrs. Reeves came for the check-up"

"Okay, Let's go"

Artemis and Dr. Reeves were speaking till Mrs. Bunman and Jana arrived.

"Hello, I am Dr. Reeves" Dr. Reeves introduced herself.

"Hello, I am Jana Florence" She sits beside Artemis.

"Mrs. Reeves, continue your work" He says.

"There will be some tests, it will be alright and there is no need to worry about it" Dr. Reeves explains to her.

"Okay, doc" Jana nods.

"You are 7 week pregnant, right?"

"Yes, Doc. This test is for?"

"To detect any abnormalities in the unborn child and any other disorders"

She nods her head.

Dr. Reeves takes the blood samples from Jana and labels them.

"When will the results be out?" Jana asks while dabbing the cotton on her skin.

"Usually it takes a few days to weeks, But especially for you guys we will deliver the results soon" Dr. Reeves assures them.

"Sounds perfect"

"Miss Florence, you have an incoming call" Mrs. Bunman gives her phone to Jana.

"Excuse me" Jana leaves the Hall.

Mrs. Bunman follows her silently.

"Now it's your turn, Mr. Vanderbilt" Dr. Reeves says, holding a syringe.

"Of course" he extends her hand.

"I can't believe, she came back after what she had done to you" Mrs. Reeves whispers.

"Let's wait and watch, Samantha" He nods at Dr. Reeves.

Samantha Reeves is an old friend of Artemis. She works as a Gynecologist in a reputed hospital.

Before the test, Artemis spoke to her regarding the paternity test of an unborn baby. She decided to help him.

"The real game starts now, within a few days we get to know the father of the unborn child" She extracts the blood sample from him and labels it.

She keeps the two blood samples in a tight container and keeps them in a lab envelope.

"Mr. Vanderbilt, she is coming" Mrs. Bunman approaches him quickly.

Artemis and Dr. Reeves start talking about the dos and don'ts of having a baby in the future.

She comes to them and sits beside him.

"I will leave now, Mr. Vanderbilt and Miss Amatore" Dr. Reeves gets up from her seat and packs the things.

"Sure" They all help her pack the kits and equipment.

 "Take care, Miss Florence" Dr. Reeves says and bids goodbye to them.

"Artemis, can we go out today evening?" Jana pleases him.

"Of course, darling. Why not? It might be the last outing for you I guess" He says in sarcasm.

"I didn't get you" She is confused.

"I mean, it is not advisable for pregnant people to go out frequently, especially in this cold. It may affect on the mother and the baby"

"Yeah, I agree"
