So I was listening to songs, and thought, 'Hey, you've got time, lets draw Vanitas Brine with background!'

And this was the end result. I feel proud of it, though the hair just refused to be nice to me. I like the fire I did though. Van's primary power is blue flames, which I call in my books/world Devils Fire. In my world it's considered the second hottest fire, second to Dragons Fire. It scalds also, which I've read it sometimes worse

Vanitas used to be a typical Brine 'offspring' character. But with the help of two friends of mine Bloxiegirl123 and Littlewolf65 he became so much more. 

Vanitas is eccentric in his own right, having lived so long has given him much time to figure out who he wants to be. Confident, brave, selfless, mischievous, and passionate. 

He has a deep care for those he considers in his circle of friends, he's loyal to his kingdom (the Nether) and has a strong sense of right and wrong. However, his means of getting this justice done is much different than his Uncles version. Van isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty to get something done, he also refuses to sit back and let others do this work for him: 

"Sometimes to get something done you have to do it yourself."

He holds true by these words, and once he has a vision set in mind, he is determined to get through the obstacles to see it through till the bitter end. 

Might be why I chose the song Shatter by Arshad when drawing this picture. The song really hits who Vanitas is. His moral sense has him shattering the lies people build around them. 

This can both be good and bad, as sometimes being in the know isn't the best. However, Van's years of being alive has him caring little to how the truth impacts you. 

I find the quote from Fullmetal Alchemist being truthful for him:

"Stand up and walk. Keep moving forward. You've got two good legs. So stand up and use them. You're strong enough to make your own path. - Edward Elric."

Van has little social skills at times, but he's a firm believer only the strong survive. He sees little value in those who can't stand on their own two feet and face the world. In those who would rather hide behind their delusions of grandeur and faith. He believes in the fact if you are to get anything done at all, you have to be willing to face the things you fear the most, and be willing to lose things in the process. And if you don't have the strength to protect what really matters, than you're not big enough to fill your armor.

However, once you get past that, you can see a very kind person under that hard shell. One that would take a bullet for his friends and family, one that isn't afraid to die for them, for a just cause. 

Thus is why I use the blue fire, it represents his own burning desires, passions, and strength. Hero in my mind is very sure his son will make a great leader one day, if not now. He's got the spark to show the world, now Van just has to take hold of that power and let it burn.

Fun Fact: Van's core temperature burns hotter than most people, if he gets cut his blood lights things in fire. But also makes his skin very warm. Makes for a great cuddle buddy during the cold times. XD

What do you guys think of him? Like I said, my friends and their RPs with me really helped flesh out Van more than just a Hero copy. Sure he looks alot like Hero in my mind, but he's also his own person.
