If you've read the newest chapter of Year of the Sun Dragon, then you'll know about my newest Skylanders OC, Joki Kazan.

Species: Koin (pronounced Koi-n)
Element: Fire
Gender: Female

Joki Kazan is the Skylanders Academy's newest cadets, and she's a promising candidate, as well as interesting.

She is a Koin, a race of Koi Fish like humanoids who value anything truly royal and precious, such as their Coral Palace located in their Coral Kindgom. They live deep within the oceans of Skylands, so it's really a surprise to find one like Joki out in the open and out of water. Koins live so deep in the water because of their fear that they'll be hunted for their beauty, much like how Oriental Dragons fear they would be hunted for their powers. Koins are a peaceful race, and have been for countless ages. Not many people say they know what a Koin is, let alone met one or, even rarer, have ever been to the Coral Kindgom.

Joki is Fire Elemental, yet has powers over Water as well. She has Pyrokinesis, the ability to manipulate fire(for Joki specifically, blue fire), and like any Koin she can breathe underwater and swim quite easily. This rare and deadly combination of elements allows her control over steam as well as mere fire and water. She often uses her steamy powers as a disappearing act to confuse her rivals, but she can use them for more direct attacks as well. The rest... she has to learn herself in class.

It's possible her fiery power runs in her family, as her last name Kazan in Japanese means "steam". Come to think of it, her first name Joki is Japanese for "volcano," so maybe she's particularly fiery?💎

What do you guys think of her? She literally just popped into my head while I was at school a couple of days ago. I had to figure everything out about her personality and stuff. I didn't even know what she was before I decided she was a Koi Fish (hence the "joke" about everyone not knowing what she is right off the bat). And I'd like to thank SpyroAndToothless for helping me come up with a name for her, but then I have a lot to thank ST for helping me with!😅

Anyway, speaking of ST, I can't help but ship Joki with Bazookanine. I got the idea since before coming up with her name, and now it just stuck with me. I couldn't help but draw a certain scenario that happened in Joki's deput chapter.

I couldn't help it. Besides, it had been a while since I tried drawing Bazookanine, and who am I to miss an opportunity like this?
