Chapter 9
Chapter 9
(edited)
We drove over. My hands began to shake and my legs began to wobble. I began to feel hot and sweaty as we drove up the drive way.
I got out of the car steadily to see a giant house. I looked up. It had to have been 10 stories high. A woman with bleach blonde hair stepped out of the door.
"Oh my gosh! Ayrika?! Is that you?!" The woman greeted.
"Yes?" I replied cautiously.
She came up to me and hugged me. She squeezed. I felt like I was going to explode if she squeezed me any tighter.
She finally let go, and I began to breath again.
"I'm sorry dear. You must be exhausted from that car ride! Please come in." I went with it, it was literally a five minute car ride. . .
She lead me through the door and into the living room. There was a giant stair case that lead to the second, third, and fourth floors, as I later found out.
"Wow! This is amazing. What is your job?" I asked, not trying to be rude.
"Oh sweet pea, this isn't my doing this is my husband's house! He's a model."
"A model?"
"Yes dear! He's Elliot Streamer."
Now I recognized the name. But wasn't he like 28?
"Isn't he like extremely young, though?"
"Oh sweetheart, you don't know, do you? Ms. Levi didn't explain to you that I had you when I was 16?"
I paused. I began to feel uncomfortable. "No?"
"Yeah, sweets. I was very young, and hardly knew anything. I began doing stuff I wasn't supposed to, and by the time I turned 16 I found out I was going to have you."
I stood there. I never imagined it. I was my mom's age when she had me.
She continued. "I knew I couldn't have taken care of you. So I put you in the best place possible. You do realize that I wanted to have the best for you, because I loved you?"
That was it. I'd heard enough. I scoffed. "This was all because of love? I spent my whole life, not knowing I was wanted, loved, cared for, and it was all because you loved me?" I snapped. Putting her in place. "You might think that this confession was going to change things, but it won't. I can't forgive you just like that." I began to tear up, trying my best not to break my composure.
"Ayrika!" Ms Levi said sternly. I ignored her and continued.
"I lived a life full of doubt, fear, and being unloved. I can't forgive you just like that. You gave me up! I've never had a real relationship with anyone, who'd I'd be able to call Mom. I'm sorry, but I can't."
Her face was shocked. I couldn't bare it. I turned around to leave and run back to Karder. Until I heard "Ayrika!"
I turned around tears streaming down my cheeks.
"Dear—I—"
I couldn't bare it any longer. I ran outside and ran back. I don't care if it was five miles. I needed to run.
"AYRIKA!" Ms Levi screamed. "AYRIKA!" I ignored her and kept running.
I was about 2 miles away when I collapsed. Everything was blurry, until, I blacked out completely.
